Let's start by saying that they have a great special on Wednesdays and Saturdays. $10 for a medium platter. The platter comes with a protein, rice, and two sides. The inside was spacious but seemed a bit empty as far as furniture and decor. It was cool though. There was about 5 people on line behind me as I was leaving but upon arrival, there was only one person ahead. I'm guessing since this special is a popular one that's why the food seemed to be running low. People were coming in quicker than they could replace the food on display (in my opinion). Very nice service. They were quick and efficient. Again I like the special on these days but I do want to go back on other days to try other items I've seen on their social media.

Unfortunately, they do not have a lunch special so it was $18 for a meat, 2 sides and rice. They advised that they have specials only on Tuesday and Saturday. Bummer! I ordered the yams, Mac and cheese, rice and sweet & spicy chicken tenders. They were fried perfectly and still crunchy even after the food got a little colder. I will try them again on a Tuesday and remember the specials is CASH only.

Big Easy in Trenton SMACKKKKKS!…read more By far my favorite restaurant in Trenton. If you haven't tried the fried basa or the fried shrimp, you're missing out. Every single time I order, my food comes out popping hot, fresh, and seasoned just right. And let's talk about the sides... 10/10 across the board. I honestly haven't had one I didn't love. The service is always friendly, the food is consistent, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. If you're looking for comfort food that actually delivers every time, Big Easy is it. Highly recommend!

The men running the place, and cooking the food are very nice! It is always refreshing to go into an establishment and get treated well. The food was cooked fresh to order and since the sink is close to the ordering window, we got to witness how well they cleaned the fish. The place is small but feels very comfortable, especially with all of their personal photos attached to the window. I got the fried whiting fish dinner with sides of sweet potato/yams and collard greens and my husband got the whiting sandwich with french fries. The food reminded me of my childhood! It was cooked to perfection and beyond delicious! I wish I would've taken a picture, but there will definitely be a next time!

I think they're cash only but I may be wrong. The entrees all come with rice and beans and two other sides. Medium is already a ton of food (a lot of rice and beans, and they're really generous with the gravy!). My favorite sides were the candied yams and the cabbage. The entrees I tried were -brown stew chicken ($7.50 for medium) - really great; the gravy is delicious. Several pieces were super tender and fall-off-the-bone. -jerk pork ($8.75 for medium) - really like the jerk seasoning! My friend who has a lower spice tolerance found it a bit too spicy but I liked it a lot. From the look of things, it has fallen into the strongest ownership and has a great chance of achieving longevity in this old river town neighborhood. If jazz is your sound, Rosetta's will fill that niche in your soul. From the moment I walked in and took a stool at the counter, the smooth jazz soundtrack kept me company. The presence of a full drum kit, electric keyboard and microphone stands in the front of the house by the entry door had me wondering if I would be lucky enough to audience a morning session. It wasn't to be, but it sure did set the mood for evening possibilities. My breakfast was simple. Sausage, fried egg and provolone cheese on rye sandwich, with side of home fries (onions & peppers added). The chef's skilled hands were visible from my seat, as was his laughing interaction with customers who called him out to acknowledge his presence. That was fun. The meal was good, but would have been exceptional had the sandwich been doubled up (2 of everything) and presented on an English muffin of Kaiser rather than sliced rye. The limited choice of white, wheat or rye for this creation missed the mark. Those taters on the other hand, were excellent and the java strong, fresh and tasty. PRO TIP - Add this big boy to the morning menu as a choice for those who appreciate what double meat, egg and cheese can do for the satisfaction of the hungry. Otherwise, it was all worthwhile. That Sunday brunch with mimosa and AYCE spread accompanied by live jazz is totally appealing, and we may drop in soon.
