Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

Usually when you use alcohol for cooking it cooks down and you can't really taste it. Maybe it's cause I hate beer but I could CLEARLY taste the Guinness and it didn't taste good. Regular beef stew would have been SO MUCH better. But this is a pub so I get it. My friend ordered some appetizers as well. I could have eaten my own plate of mozzarella sticks and been happy without the beef stew. I did wanna try it tho and now I know I don't like their version.
