Here for the Seminole Suit-Up event. 40% off any business casual clothing, shoes or accessories for current FSU students. I bought a suit jacket, matching pencil skirt and blouse for $60! Great deal! Plus, they had drawings for gift cards every 15 minutes. No, I didn't win anything, which is weird because I'm usually pretty lucky. Ah well. I was surprised by JCPenney's selection of stylish clothing because the store itself is so old. There was a line for the fitting rooms and some of the interior decor seems outdated. I can't remember the last time I bought clothes there, if ever. I think it is wonderful that JCPenney provided this opportunity for FSU students. It was a great idea because now I know they have some cute, professional clothing and I will likely return to buy more. read more

This is review for JCP Portrait Studio. The photos were of my 8 month old daughter. I purposefully picked a time that was (hopefully) less busy, after her nap, and after she ate. It was easy to schedule an appointment online & when we got there no one else was waiting. Brooke did a fantastic job with my daughter and the pictures came out great! They're her first professional photos. I'd definitely go back & see Brooke specifically! Make sure you get a Groupon! I saved about $75 by using one. read more

I had been avoiding JCPenney, since I never found what I was looking for in previous years... I heard they opened a Sephora inside of it and had to check it out! A few hundred dollars later, I had a new winter wardrobe and some fantastic cosmetics. This might be my favorite store. Funny, huh? :) read more

This JCP is pretty sad in comparison to others that I have seen in Florida. It doesn't have an amazing selection of merchandise, but it is usually clean and organized. The shoe section needs some love (merchandise), too. It does have a Sephora, which could be the saving grace of this store. The sales people are very helpful, too, and have been patient while I shop and ask questions. read more

I love JCP !!! I shop there on a REGULAR basis...misses and shoe depts., Sephora, jewelry, exercise clothing, etc. They carry tall/long pants/jeans. Always having a sale, plus additional savings with a JCP credit card. Last year bought two coats at JCP...each coat was $200 plus but I paid $68 for one and $82 for the other. JCP women's dress pants cost less than non-descript pants at Walmart and 1000 times better quality. In addition, I use Bare Minerals (dermatologist recommended) and you can find that in JCP. As an added savings, you earn reward dollars each month on your purchases. Not to mention they have on-line shopping if you don't find it in your store. I just started shopping a JCPenney again this year. The store has attractive deals and I found many, many options for work, play and FORMALS!!! And what a relaxing bonus... shopping and a great hair salon! I met several cosmetologists in the salon that are current on their techniques, and use Premium designer products on my hair. Best of all... I can choose appointments or walk in. The shop is clean and peaceful and I will definitely return to JC Penney for the shopping and the salon. read more

Penney's use to be a go to store for me many years ago. I still go to the store looking for certain items. Their catalog department I used quite a lot in the past whenever I couldn't find something in the store. The last two times I ordered from them on line I had issues with the order. My last order I never received and wound up calling for a refund. The order I placed on May 9, 2018 was a total fiasco. I received the confirmation that they received my order. Whenever I checked to see where my order was it told me it will be in 4-7 days. Finally by the 10th day I tried calling the store to see if it was in and maybe they just didn't contact me. Without anyone ever answering the phone, I finally did a chat with the online office. They advised me that it was shipped and I needed to wait for the pick up email. So I tried the store again and after 10 minutes I finally got an answer. After giving them the order number I was advised it was on back order. Now I have received a conflict of information. One place tells me it was shipped and the other place tells me it's on back order and I should call back to get a refund and they will reorder for same price. I decided to wait a few more days. Well to my surprise I receive an email today advising me my order is in. So please advise me who is not doing their job! From time ordered it took 12 days to arrive at the Penney's store. Not sure if I will order from them again. I think if it is not in the store I will just do without. read more

I called to make an appointment today. The receptionist said my preferred stylist only had a 5 pm available and she left at 6. I work in the service Industry also and did not want to schedule so close to the end of her schedule. I asked the receptionist to confirm if that would be ok. She put me on hold then came back and asked if I could come at 4:30. I said yes. I live out of town so it is an hour drive to get there. I stopped to my favorite nail salon to kill time until my appointment. I had to leave without getting my nails done in order to make it across town on time. I showed up 15 minutes earlier. The stylist came over to me at 5pm stating she did not know I was there for her because the receptionist did not tell her. I had to leave there without my hair being done and go back to my other appointment only to have to wait two hours when I could have been seen earlier. This was very inconvenient as I do not live here in Tallahassee and that was all the way on the other side of town!!!!! If you call, insist on speaking with your stylist or that she return your call when she can. I always have problems with receptionist at this facility!!! read more

Really this is not just a review of the Tallahassee Penneys but of the whole big department store system, meaning Penneys, Sears, etc. At one time, oh maybe 40 or so years ago, these stores had full time, career workers. Folks who knew what they were doing and talking about. Recently, I bought a product from Penneys that became a problem. It was an adjustment problem, in other words if you knew your product some simple instructions could be offered to help resolve my situation. Instead, I will need to repurchase a new item, send the misaligned item back and wait for a refund. Now I appreciate all of the changes that have occured in 40 years, that being those things that are out of a store's control but this is where our society is headed for everything. The store personnel, while pleasant, are hired from those that are not aware and have no desire to aware of their products. Most are students or are hired from the ghetto. It is quite a shame that folks now and in the future have no idea of what it was like to shop at a department store that acually had real workers with real knowledge. read more
