I need a few things for my upcoming trip to New Orleans. They always have such great inventory here. I miss the one that was closer to my home. I love the great sales that they have. They did finally open all of the dressing/fitting rooms. They were closed for a long time because of Covid. The Cashiers are fast and accurate. I did do away with their credit card when they raised the interest rates up to 33%! Paid them off completely. Pros:great sales all of the time, plenty of parking Cons:high interest rates-don't do it Recommend? Absolutely. read more

PHENOMENAL experience from beginning to end! The entire staff was warm, welcoming, professional, and absolutely amazing. A special thank you to the manager, Ms. Temeka, who was incredibly accommodating from the very first time I contacted her to schedule my appointment all the way through to the final product. She made sure I felt welcomed, taken care of, and completely satisfied with my experience. And can we talk about the shampoo?! That shampoo was right for my SOUL! I'm pretty sure she washed my hair, my worries, my stress, and at least three problems I hadn't even told anybody about. I left that shampoo bowl a different woman! The final result was beautiful, and I truly appreciated the care, attention to detail, and wonderful customer service throughout my visit. It's refreshing to find a salon where you feel like more than just another appointment on the schedule. Beautiful hair, amazing staff, exceptional service, and apparently a little therapy at the shampoo bowl! I will absolutely be back. Highly recommend! read more

I recently visited this store to make a return that I had purchased online at the JCP website. It's a pretty typical JCP, but the associates here that I interacted with were super nice. From making a return without a receipt to browsing the store. I ended up leaving without making a purchase, but I can use the credit on their website. The only complaint I have about this store is their hours; they do not open early enough. 10AM on a Saturday during the busiest season of the year is too late. read more

Sale! Sale! Sale! JC Penneys end of the summer sale. Here I go right to the clearance rack. I loved to shop on line but the selections always have to be shipped to my house. Can anybody say pick up or curbside. I have been shopping Penneys for many years for birthdays, anniversaries.and for my grands. I am never disappointed. However, I have yet to get a JC Penneys card. I do not want one or need one. I miss out on the extra savings. It is a pleasant experience to shop in the store. Later in the evening the better. I went shopping on a Monday evening. I am in awe. No lines. No fighting..JC Penney tranquility with me, the register and the sale associate ummmmm! read more

I had a perm and trim last week with Linda at Avenues Mall Salon. I was the only customer waiting. I had a 2 pm appointment time. I arrived at 1:50. Missy said Linda would be done with her customer soon. At 2:10 I asked Missy the manager where Linda was. She said she was shopping. I said the mall was very busy so I hope she gets back soon. I waited about 5 minutes and Missy looked up at me then called someone. She said something about a customer waiting. Then another desk lady came in. Then missy disappeared. At 1:25 I told the other lady I have to go. Then I saw missy again and asked her if Linda returned and she said she was finishing up a customer. I said I thought she was shopping. Missy denied ever saying that. In a few minutes Linda walked out and called me back. There were no other customers in the salon. Someone was lying to me.... The issues I had with the service were: 1. I was charged $65 for a cut and blow dry. I received only a cut which should have been $25. According to your price list. I heard Linda tell Missy that there was no blow dry as I was checking out. I was charged for one anyway. My husband had to go back to get a refund and Missy tried to refund only $8. He said no. It is $40. She started to argue but she ended up refunding the difference. He also asked about when she said Linda was shopping and she the told him I misunderstood what she said. He saw that there were no other customers in the salon also. I had hair over my shoulders and asked Linda for a trim close to my shoulders maybe two inches. She cut it much shorter than that. It's not a big deal, my hair will grow but the point is she didn't listen to the customers requests and did everything her way. I also asked for grey curlers. She don't worry. Believe me, I'll give you pretty hair. She used whatever size she wanted. 2. Linda asked Missy if there were any more blue boxes. She said there were no more. Linda came back with something but didn't see what kind of formula she used. I have always been positioned in the chair so that I could see what the stylist was doing. This time I couldn't see anything. 3. After the perm, she put me in an overhead dryer. I said I didn't want that. I have NEVER done this in my life and I knew the heat would bother me and burn me. She said I had to use it for 20 minutes. I said NO! She did it anyway. After 15 minutes I couldn't breath and Linda had disappeared. So I called for the other lady to find Linda. She came back and I told her to remove the heat now and she said no I had to stay in it 5 more minutes. I said NO! Take it off and she finally did. I waited 5 minutes more after she took it off. I was very hot and my forehead and hair was burnt. 4. After a few days, My perm looks terrible. There are several strands of hair with no curl at all. The front of my head looks flat, probably from the high heat. Before I went in I asked the front desk how much a perm and trim would cost. She told me the Stylist would decide after talking with me. When I asked Linda she said the front desk would decide. She doesn't set the price. So I started off not knowing what this would even cost me. Overall I spent $160 to have a "master stylist" do a job that I didn't want and am not happy with. She did it her way, not my way. When I explained all of these problems to Missy, she never once apologized. I will not be returning to JC Penney style salon ever again. read more

What a happy place to be today!!! Aside from the store being clean and the sales, the first thing I see upon entering was an employee singing "Happy Birthday " to a customer! ( I'll try to add the video)! Skip the bathroom though.. read more

In the upstairs linens and bath department, I found there were more representatives with personalities and a willingness to be proactive in ensuring the wandering customer is helped and given their names as a point of reference. JCPenny isn't my joint. However, it had a nice sale and there are some quality finds and money saving promotions for cardholders and non-cardholders alike. I must give a yelp out to Karen who was so wonderful in her approach, knowledge and personable service. She really made this a 5 star visit which started out as a 2 downstairs with the associates breezing by on autopilot and no guest acknowledgment as if a cat had their tongues on mute. Karen is the find that retail stores look for and miss out on because someone with more juzzed up something or another caught the hiring person's attention rather than raw honest straight down the middle talent that meets the customer on their level. A quiet fire if you will but so effective. I was impressed and thrilled she used my name throughout the interaction. You're in for a wonderful experience if you encounter this young lady. read more

Like most retail, large chain stores.... there is lot of clothes, shoes, etc. I don't go regularly to the mall but it seemed Penney's was particularly crowded with clothes in the aisle?!? Like most retail places they were having sales so?? I did want some new gym clothes so we made our way over and I looked at the racks of athletic clothes but saw nothing I was willing to pay that amount BUT then I found a table full of $5 gym tank tops! Made my day because these could easily go for $22 each! Next though we had to wait to get checked out it's not that the staff isn't pleasant.. they just need more help! read more

This is my hubby's go to for work clothes and I happened onto the website and found too many dresses on clearance that I liked... and galoshes (Mari J convinced me I needed them and I had to agree). I ordered on line with pick-up at the store to avoid shipping fees. I did get chastised for not using mom's account- since she has free shipping on all orders- next time. The pick up at store took a while- they quote 4 to 7 days and it was 7 days. I admit that waiting that long wasn't my favorite part of shopping. Going in for pick- there are signs inside the door directing you upstairs for pick-ups and returns. Also- not the most convenient to run in for pick up. While waiting in line I was amused at the prices for something as simple as 3 mesh bags (a set) that they wanted $30 for. I literally started laughing at the price. The lady at the counter complained that my order was heavy and was a little gruff. My dresses on average cost $13 each and the boots were $18. 5 dresses and a huge box for the boots- I was carrying some serious bags out! I checked for clearance coats- but didn't find anything I liked, style wise. Definitely a mixed experience, but I do like my purchases! read more

I went to this store a few days ago and asked a question and the lady which I believe was in charge talked down to me and my husband and went there today and was standing in the wrong area to get checked out and was rude to tell me where the line is. Very disappointing read more

In line right now at JCPenney the Monday before Christmas, there are over 20 people in line and one person working the register. Only one cashier upstairs as well. Four people working at the jewelry counter though but they can't bring anybody up. read more

I was there for over an hour trying on jeans , rack said 50 to 70% off and they rang up full price and said they are not on sale , WTH?

I moved, updated my account info via JCP online account services and checked them off the list of all businesses I use. Placed an order 3 mo later for birthday gift. Received confirmation email with old address on invoice. I called immediately and informed them that I had already updated this and was assured no problems with shipping. A few days later, I receive notice that items were delivered to old address. I contacted them multiple times to be advised that I needed to contact the couriers and get packages resent to correct address. I also received notice that one of the orders was running late and not yet sent. After multiple contacts and attempts to update information, their website is still listing my old phone number and sent the latest order again to the wrong address and they will not take any action to assist with problems that were due to their own errors. I won't be shopping here anymore after years of being a loyal customer. Their service has gone down exponentially and it feels terrible knowing they were once such a great company. read more

Since there isn't a Macy's close enough for me to frequent, this has been my go to store for comfy tees, shoes, Levis, dresses and work outfits. Not to mention their jewelry dept and sephora... They have it all! I love their prices and never had a problem with customer service. I tend to go to the Atlantic Blvd location since I work closer to that, but I go to this one when I have time to visit the rest of the mall and to shop around. May you live forever JC Penny, I'd be lost without you! read more

I love JC Penny. There I said it. Great deals, good quality clothing and products and great discounts...what's not to love? I'm a banker, and therefore wear a suit every day to work. I am able to buy great shirts, ties dress socks etc. for great prices and they carry my favorite designer too Liz Claiborne. When not buying professional clothes there is an extensive selection of regular stuff and the staff are always so darned friendly. This place is conveniently located, easily navigated and usually a breeze to check out of too. My only con is that the bathrooms can be downright gross. read more

I used to love shopping at this store, because they have a good selection of plus size clothing. The one thing that turned me off of this store was one snappy employee. An older woman, who smarted off to me and was rude to my husband when he tried to come into the dressing room stall with me. I was VERY pregnant at the time, trying on dresses for my baby shower & needed help from my husband. I had never had any issues prior to that with him going in there with me. We called corporate and they said they would handle it, but nothing ever came of it. Sometimes I think it could have been my hormones, but thinking back on it, I still don't want to shop here anymore if they can't hire store associates better than that. The salon is the only place I go to now in the store, because it's absolutely amazing, and the hair stylists take hours on perfecting your hair. 10/10 there! read more

So they have a huge "bra fit event" going on. I take my teenage daughter to get fitted since she's been wearing the wrong size bra. We wait for 10 min because there isn't even anyone in the dept. There's another family waiting before us. Finally a lady comes and checks them out. My daughter and i are waiting when another girl walks up and gets in line in front of us. I then tell the clerk we need her to be fitted. She proceeds to tell me that she is by herself and will be with us in a few min and proceeds to take care of the girl that came after us. So we just went to the fitting room and several minutes later she comes in. I told her we didnt need her anymore and she tells me she was by herself. I told her that didnt really matter to me, that we were customers and there before the other girl. Sje said ok and walked away. Needless to say we will be leaving all of tbese bras in the fitting room and not buying any. Terrible customer service. Got a beautiful wedding ring set at an unbelievable price. Jewelry Dept is fantastic and knowledgeable. Love my JCPENNEY card!

Stopped by to check on the red tag deals didn't see anything I would like. However, they offer tons of clothes, shoes, and other products basically for everybody. Employees were friendly and very customer focused on our needs if we had any questions. Suggestions- I would stop by this store again in the future, check them out for your self. Moose Out read more

Don't usually come here but came because of the sales. My cashier was so nice also his name was Ramon and he was the greatest!

Worst phone experience ever. The woman who picked up, cuts you off, doesn't let you finish your sentence, is very short, doesn't even answer your question and hangs up on you. Got no useful information what so ever and she didn't even know what the store does for college students. The past four years they partner up with colleges and let college students come in after hours to get an extra 30% off. They have been doing this since at least 2017. She has never heard of this and told me that JCPenney emails coupons and to check my email and then hung up. Is this really how customer service is being trained now? read more

This is your typical department store. JCPenney's has lots of clothing for sale and dabbles in other areas such as dishes home electronics and home appliances and jewelry. They have a decent selection of watches and colognes but nothing to be really impressed about. Some of their clothing sales were pretty good but most of their prices were a little bit more than what I wanted to pay. A lot of their clothing seem to Orient itself around younger generations. read more

Customer neglect is the operating standard at JCPenney based on my Feb 2022 experience. The retailer refused to issue me a full refund for a dress that I ordered online and returned promptly to the store. It was in perfect condition, in original packaging, tags were attached, and I presented it with my jcpenney.com receipt. Instead, I was debited a $10.20 "adjustment" with no explanation. When I called an associate at jcpenney.com to report this she said it was a mistake and I would have to go back to the store to correct it. I had no intention of driving to JCPenney again. Instead, I called the Avenues Mall store a dozen different times and never got an answer. Then I wrote a complaint letter to the store manager (listed on LinkedIn as Carla Finney) and sent it UPS so there would be proof of delivery. I stated that if I did not receive the $10.20 credit by March 4th I would go public with my experience. The store manager never acknowledged my letter, which a UPS tracking document shows was received on Feb 24, 2022. Not only did JCPenney fail to process a basic return-and-refund transaction correctly it couldn't be bothered to even communicate with a customer. read more

I was super annoyed by the customer service today in the shoe dept. Someone named Juli was extra impatient with me. Don't talk to me like I'm dumb and don't choose to not listen to me when I want to explain something. She didn't want to scan my rewards card from my phone. Why email me a digital one if I can't use it JCP? Didn't let me use me reward $ off and a 15% off coupon. I've never had the problem on doubling up coupons in this store especially if one is a reward discount. She didn't even seem to listen to my patient explanation. Thanks for actually taking the time to provide me with decent customer service...and this was my first and last time buying shoes from JCP. read more

This was my second time going to their salon for a color (brown) to match the color on the rest of my hair. The first time they mixed the wrong color and said someone must have mislabeled the bottles. Came out too light. I could still see my grey roots. They told me next time I come in they would give me a discount. Came in today to fix their mess up. I just wanted just to have my grey roots touched up and have it all one color (brown)with no highlights to start from scratch. Now it looks like I've let my grey hairs grow out and is half the length of my shoulder length hair! It's even worse than the first time!Totally disgusted with this salon. The stylist argued with me on the color I wanted. It looks atrocious! My daughter took one look at me and said "what the hell did they do to your hair mom? It doesn't even look like they colored it!"I knew I should have stayed with Ulta. I wouldn't let this salon wash mud off my dog. If I I could I would make this a negative star rating. Now I have to wait 3 weeks before I can get it fixed. Imagine going to work looking like this. I feel so disgusted with them. read more

I stopped shopping at JCP for a while when they tried to do everyday low pricing and such but I'm happy they have gone back to their old ways of selling things. The store has multiple entrances and to be honest I sometimes still get lost when I walk out of the main doors that takes you to the outside, lol :-) but seriously at least you know you would be safe in a fire. The store itself is organized with home, children's clothes and shoes and women's undergarments upstairs. The men's clothes, women's clothing and shoes are downstairs along with a sephora. They have lots of price checkers around the store so it helps with shopping. Associates are easy to find and they are very friendly anytime I have questions. Their clearance sections are easy to find and most of their coupons allow you to use it on clearance with an exception of some brands. I honestly like JCP. They have decent quality and their quality is on par with the prices I have been able to find. An example would be a men's dockers sweater for well under $5. The clothes here I feel are a bargain and not as difficult to shop as tjmaxx or Ross. The home department I don't shop in too much because I feel like the mark up is too high but I also don't find it to my taste. I don't think you can go too wrong in this place and for the most part it is pretty well organized. So I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

This JCP hasn't been renovated in a while but the chain as a whole has been struggling for years so I can forgive them. I had to come in to return some blinds I purchased online (Ick. Just Ick.). I was hoping to purchase different blinds in store but they don't carry much in stock and the only ones I sort of liked had to be custom ordered. The price was ridiculous so I went back online and found some from a different website that had a much more modern look, were cheaper, and had better material. JCP needs to spend some $$ on designers & buyers. read more
