The reviews were spot on. She was funny and sweet and very committed to making our wedding special and capturing it perfectly. I'm pretty sure the first time we talked on the phone she said something along the lines of "if you decide to work with me..." and we were like "yes. we are working with you. No question." I'm so happy we found her and she ended up having our date open! My husband (!) and I both felt kind of awkward going into the engagement shoot that is included in the package, but we left feeling so relaxed and ...basically giddy. She just knows how to get you laughing and going with the flow while capturing beautiful shots. She was also very communicative despite hiring her well in advance, for example, sending us an version of a wedding timeline and a magazine created by her helping with decisions like whether to do a first look or not. We also got the photo booth from her (one of the best decisions ever! I had so much fun with it and so did the guests) as well as adding on the second photographer (her husband Devin). If you want a photobooth it makes sense to do it with her because she has a deal for booking both things together. Having Devin as the second photographer was also a good decision. Devin was just as great, and it was nice to have a photographer with the groom side while they were getting married as well as capture different angles of the entire wedding. I can end with this: Jasmine (and Devin) are both amazing photographers, but they also go beyond. For example, it was raining on and off, and they figured out exactly when to get beautiful rain pics, or beautiful non-rainy pics outside, found a large bag to put under my dress so that it wouldn't get destroyed while taking outside rainy pics. That kind of can-do DIY attitude paired with their skill is what truly seals the deal.

I admire Dave's passion for his views on topics where we disagree. Of course, we both have a right to them. But Dave canceled our photoshoot less than an hour before it was scheduled to begin because he disagrees with my opinion on a controversial issue. Perhaps I misunderstood the reason for our working together. My thought was to have an excellent group of photos - from a highly-recommended photographer - for my updated website. It did not occur to me to check his personal views on current topics in the news or if we agreed on those issues. His personal opinions are none of my business. Apparently, cancel culture is alive and well. I was canceled, this morning, too late to make another meeting I had turned down. Again, Dave is great at what he does. I'm sure others will have a good photo session with him, but I wanted to post this caution.

Everyone else in my family who had taken engagement photos was jealous. IsPhotographic even helped us turn some of them into magnets as save the dates for family members. We decided to hire isPhotographic to be our wedding photographer. Our wedding was technically a destination wedding (5 hours away in northern Michigan). Dave Mason was the photographer, and he was punctual, friendly, fun, and totally professional. He got along with everybody at the wedding. The coverage he got was fantastic. He always had posing and grouping ideas to shoot, but was also completely flexible to shoot anything we could come up with on the fly. All in all, I would say he is the best bet for wedding photography in the midwest (Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky). If you are in those areas, call isPhotographic because they are absolutely the best around. You won't be disappointed. Totally artistic, fun, relaxed photography. It feels good to know that our once in a lifetime memories were captured perfectly by a true artist.
