Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and our new back/front yard makes us confident that we made the correct choice in choosing Joel for our project. Thank you!

BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO!…read more Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends.

He also installed a pressure relief valve while he was at it, which I hadn't thought to ask about but he flagged as something worth doing given the issue we had. He diagnosed the problem quickly, explained what was going on in a way that actually made sense, and got the repair done without any drama. The valve install was a nice touch since it should help prevent the same kind of failure down the road. Fair pricing, showed up when he said he would, and cleaned up after himself. I'd call Javier again for any irrigation work without hesitation.

Axel came over, really listened to what I needed, and sent me a very reasonable estimate the next day. I had a few other quotes, but Axel's upbeat personality, fair price, honesty, and helpful attitude made the choice easy. He explained everything so clearly and even gave me creative ideas to stay within my budget, which I really appreciated! He sent photos of different gravel and mulch options, and even put together a mock-up so I could actually see what the space would look like. That attention to detail meant a lot. Unlike some others I met with, he never tried to upsell or pressure me, just real, honest help. My whole backyard was a mess, but Axel and his crew turned it into something beautiful. They added a section of grass that my pups are absolutely thrilled with, and he did such thoughtful planting throughout the space. The team showed up on time, worked so hard, and were respectful of our home the entire time. They made sure everything was just right. Axel really went above and beyond. I'm so happy with the results and would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to improve their yard! PS: Just an FYI - - Axel also did an incredible job evening out our 40-year-old brick patio and squaring it off beautifully. It looks so much better now! That said, any bricks you might notice that are still a little uneven were already that way before, it's an old patio with some character. Axel worked with what was there and truly brought new life to it.
