Has been unresponsive. No text/calls/emails - I have been trying to connect the past 2 months!

I have been filing my taxes here for several years and never had an issues when I was only filing as a W-2 employee. However, once I opened my own business, Darlene did not file my LLC fees correctly for 2 years in a row even though I paid her to do so. I have received underpayment penalties and late fees from the FTB as a result of her failure to do her job. I have emailed her 6 times in the last 3.5 months and called multiple times but am unable to leave a voicemail as her mailbox is full. read more

Best customer service. Very friendly environment the girls are awesome. Happy with the outcome.

I have been going here for a few years and never had an issue until this year. I received a letter that a tax form was not filled out that should have been completed. It took us weeks to get a hold of Darlene to complete the form that is needed. We filed in February and we have yet to receive our return. I understand that the returns have been delayed due to COVID. My frustration is that Darlene told us that we should have received our return by now and that she would follow up and call us back. She has never called us back, we have called her several times and he response is the same, "you still haven't received your return?" And again, she says she will call us back. It's now been 9 months and still have yet to receive an "update" from her. The lack of communication is ridiculous and I would not recommend this place. Definitely not going back. read more

I've been using JBD Financial Services for many years now, and the service seems to somehow get better and faster year after year. I would recommend family and friends at the drop of a dime, without a doubt. They are friendly and take your needs into consideration. Very happy I found them, and have been able to continue business throughout the years.. even through the covid pandemic!! Thank you JBD. I appreciate you all! read more

I was recommended to her by my parents, and you know millennials - we never listen to our parents but I'm so glad that I did! Darlene is truly the best! Very sweet and personable. I live in Los Angeles and have been driving to her every tax season for over 5 years! I can't imagine going to anyone else. read more

Darlene and her staff are very professional and genuinely sweet people. Been going to Darlene for years. Thank you for them!

I was referred to JBD Financial by a friend. Being a newlywed (then) I knew it would be my first time filing jointly with my husband and I wanted to go to someone professional and knowledgeable. We came to Darlene and we have been coming here for 3 years now. She never disappoints! We have had her help with notary service aside from filing our taxes and she has always gone above and beyond. We have very happy with her service! read more

Darlene is the best. Basically family and is very knowledgeable about the law and gives you heads ups for what to do for the following year. You can't go wrong here. read more

Darlene is amazing. I was so lucky to be directed to her 4 yrs ago. Everyone from the clinic I worked at went to her and only talked positive about her. So my husband and I tried out and have been 100% happy with her ever since. She thought us so much about our taxes and helped us manage everything. Since I had my own business at the time. They are also so friendly there. I have three boys and receptionist loves kids so much she plays with them, talks to them, puts on movies for them, which makes everything so much easier for us. I would recomend them 100%. read more

I wish I had seen the other reviews before using Darlene. She is unprofessional and does not follow through with her empty promises. The only way she will answer my call is if it's from a number that the assistant does not recognize. The assistant will answer and Darlene is supposedly helping another client and the assistant says Darlene will return my call which never happens. Darlene is fine to use if there are no problems. Once the IRS is involved she is MIA. read more

I have used JBD Financial for over 5 years doing regular returns and some more difficult, even redoing previous returns that were done incorrectly by others. I even had some IRS issues and Darlene came through like a champ! She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and a joy to work with. I have also referred others to her and all are just as pleased. They are the bomb diggedy! read more

I have been a customer of this office for several years. In 2015, I bought an investment property in Hawaii. Darlene prepared my Federal return, California return and Hawaii return for a reasonable price last year in March. I subsequently encountered problems with my Hawaii Tax return where there were errors and I did not get the tax refund I was expecting. After consulting with Darlene regarding these issues in June, August and September, she told me 3 or 4 times that the problem was resolved and that I should expect my refund soon. In late November I still had not received my refund and after calling and leaving messages through the end of the year, Darlene stopped taking my calls and to this day has not returned calls after several attempts. Her mother, who runs the office, told me they have many customers and are very busy. Wow!!! If she had simply told me she couldn't or wouldn't help me, that would have saved me a whole lot of frustration, stress, time and anger. Where's the customer service? To not call a customer back? read more

Getting my taxes done by Darlene was by far one of the worst experiences I have had with a business owner. Not only were my taxes filed incorrectly, communication with her was impossible. Once I received notice in the mail that my return was filed in correctly Darlene dropped off the face of the earth. She never responded to a single email or a single phone call. I ended up having to pay another REAL tax service professional to correct her errors. In addition to payment two people to do my taxes, I was also charged late fees & penalties for not paying on time because according to Darlene the letter from the state was incorrect. She directed me to hold off payment until she could get it resolved.... Needless to say, that never happened. Avoid dealing with this rookie at all cost. She is unprofessional, lacks knowledge in her profession & should not be trusted to handle anyone's tax return. read more

Darlene and her sister are super friendly and very responsive. Always a good experience ! They do get very busy so it's good to make appointments with time in advance, however when needed they do their best to accommodate people . :) read more
