We were replacing two 20-year-old sliding doors that were stuck, plus remodeling a fireplace--but not just any remodel. We wanted a modern design without losing our grandfathered-in wood-burning functionality, which is extremely important to us. With the sliding doors, Erick faced a real challenge. Our house sits on a slope and had shifted over time, which meant installing the new doors required redoing the decking on one side and leveling out the concrete on the other--issues we hadn't even considered. But Erick's eye for precision and commitment to quality made it all come together beautifully. As for the fireplace, I had a very specific vision: remove the outdated cut-out to create more living space, preserve the wood-burning feature, and incorporate a fresh design using limewash paint. The first color we picked ended up being completely off. Erick was so understanding and told us, "Pick the right color, and when you're ready, we'll make it happen." Even though this set his schedule back (and I know how tight those are in his line of work), he never pressured us to rush. Once I finally landed on the right shade, his team was back the very next day to finish it quickly and flawlessly. His attention to detail, beautiful custom carpentry, and collaborative design approach were exactly what we needed. It wasn't a small job and it had significant challenges.  Much of the siding dated back to 1960---thick layers of bubbling and peeling paint due to the failure of 57-year-old primer.  In addition, there were spots that hadn't been sealed for years which resulted in rotting wood.   To top it off, there was mildew because the prior owners had used a sub-par grade paint. This company by far exceeded my expectations on the prep work.  I'm very demanding, but even where I would have been satisfied with the extent of the prep work they weren't. All mildew wasn't just pressure cleaned, but killed with the right carefully controlled chemicals. The crew spent days ensuring that all surfaces were fully clean and stripped down before any paint touched the house.   The paint was similarly properly applied.  I have overlapping horizontal siding, so right up front in the bid they told me that it needed to be double rolled on top of the spraying.  This ensures the bottom edge of the siding is well sealed and doesn't wick up moisture.  Again, no cutting corners.   The result is crisp.  Super crisp.  Everyone who has come by my house has just stood and stared at it.  I never knew that a paint job could be so interesting!  It's because the work is so well done that it takes years off my house and certainly increased the value---not to mention the enhanced protection.
