he was driving on hwy 71 and a bunch of large items, a pallet and boxes flew off his trailer in the…read moremiddle of the road. we were able to dodge it. we followed them trying to let them know. when we finally came into contact with him at Arrowwood hotel parking lot he was not concerned about picking up the trash and items he left strewn across the highway. he was far more concerned with entering the hotel quickly with a woman rather than being a decent person and picking up his trash. it's disgusting how lazy and disrespectful people are.

My parents have owned a summer-only cabin on Big Spirit Lake since 1970. In the early years, our…read moredock consisted of heavy boards and solid wood posts that required a significant installation and removal effort every May and September (or so). Eventually we discovered VW Docks, which has been in the business of designing, building, and installing modular units since 1959. They're made of Western Red Cedar and can be installed, removed, raised, and lowered by one person without getting in the water. It's a pretty slick system. And even though my Dad is as healthy as a horse at 82 and his children have scattered to Albany, Maple Grove, West Des Moines, and Taipai, its OK (and fairly cheap) to have someone else do the seasonal dock work. We also appreciate the chance to sit on that sturdy VW Dock and enjoy the view.
