It was so much fun to be able to see the children run around like maniacs, explore new skills, and interact. The one and a half hour party was perfect for the under five set. The co-directors of the gym were so wonderful and up-beat making sure that there was a little something for everyone. They took the time to learn all of the children's names and make them feel special. There was a bit of free play and structured games and they did a wonderful job at making sure that everything was fun and age-appropriate. My Gym was not on my radar (especially with the pandemic) but I'm already thinking of starting my children in one of their weekly classes. Thank you everyone!

BEST Birthday Party - Son's 2yr (17JUN23)…read more I heard a lot of good things about this place regarding birthday parties and figured we'd give it a go for our son's 2nd birthday. Best decision we could have made! We went with the mid-tier package (Deluxe Celebration) which was perfect because they set up the decorations which was a huge help, had water for the kids, and a couple pizzas for them. We brought in a balloon arch for the display/cake table and had plenty of room for that. The two ladies/employees even helped with the extras we brought in. I requested a dino theme and the decorations they used were so cute but not "babyish" and fit well for a wild boy such as ours. I was really impressed with their set up! My son had a blast here and the gym teachers were VERY active in entertaining the kids (ages: 1-6/12 kids). There were a few moments of free play which the kids just loved, especially the ball pit, and my gosh those teachers had so many games and activities to do with all of them and it kept the party lively and engaging the whole time. Activities/Games: zip line, parachute game, dino-teacher game, ball activity, and there were a few others I can't remember. We opted to have the balloon drop too since our son LOVES them. For our son we also had his birthday parade where he came out in a decorated cart and all the kids got to sing along and run around, so cute! They had great music playing most of the time, that wasn't annoying, and the kids were all able to do what they wanted and parents got to have some fun too. The gym teachers were on point and kept to a reasonable schedule and worked with me for moving some things around. Really, I just had to push the food back a bit because I didn't order enough for the parents. I highly recommend getting extra pizzas for them! they even cut the cake for all of the kids and parents, cleaned up after them while still engaging with activities. Those ladies (Destiny, and another wonderful woman) really worked to make my son's birthday just amazing! If you're contemplating having your child's birthday here just go for it. We even delayed the party to have it here. It's a great time for the kids and you actually get to spend time with your son/daughter. Looking back, that was the best part. Instead of having to worry about everything and everyone, my husband and I could chat a bit with our guests and have a fun time with our son. Thank you to MyGym and the teachers who made his birthday the best it could have been. We decided to tip them, generously (15%), because we have zero complaints and just so appreciative. I started in her running group recovering from ITB surgery and unable to complete a 5K. Six months later, I crushed the Cherry Blossom 10-miler running an 8:45-9:00 average. The variety is great, no repeating routes or workouts. And she isn't one of those trainers who "watches" and judges you. She does the workouts with you while checking on form and giving guidance. In a town full of studios and "trainers" who love the taste of their own Kool-Aid, this lady is the real thing.

(I only added one star because Yelp forced me to in order to post.) This morning was my first 10K ever. My running coach suggested this run as a practice for my half marathon I'm doing in October. He boasted about the "collective energy" of a 10K run. The only energy I felt was negativity and disappointment. To say the race was unorganized is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Before the run, the entire group had NO idea where we were to go. There was no race signage or mile markers anywhere (not even a marked Start/Finish line). Bertha, the organizer, yelled to the crowd and told us what the course was to be and noted that it was "strenuous" (which was NOT stated in the course map). The race started 10 minutes late. They mismarked the 10K and we were actually shorted on our run. On the course map, the "uphill to the last Bowl loop" was completely eliminated, and therefore shortened our 10K so our times and mileage were completely inaccurate. On the map, where it is marked "narrow path" there was a very steep drop and should have been marked as "very dangerous terrain for knee blowouts." This little path was extremely unsafe even for advanced runners. And "flat dirt roads" should read "uneven dirt roads." They had the nerve to call it "Caribbean Sounds." The t-shirt promotes "Run to the tunes of Island Music, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, and Parang. There was no music anywhere! I was very grateful to have brought my iPod. There was only one water station for the 10K runners and NO water station for the 5K runners. We ran through a park and there were a couple of points where I actually did not know where I was going. Last but not least, I was very proud to be able to order a "small" t-shirt. There were no "smalls" at all and I had to take a "medium" which I will never wear because it does not fit. It is a generic t-shirt, without a date, and says 5K/10K/10 miler. There was NO 10 mile run. I heard many people talking about refunds. Please do not EVER run the Caribbean Sounds race and tell your friends. I can only hope that all the money they saved by not giving the runners support is actually used to fund sarcoidosis research as they advertise.

At the same time, the workouts were a perfect fit for my grandma, even though she was more than forty years older than me. It really is a place where anyone at any age or fitness level can benefit from the group classes. In the past year, I've gotten stronger, more flexible, and have noticed better balance. When class was over and the children were in line to get out of class to go with their parents, my daughter saw Me and wanted to run out to me and Ms.Gina said "No! Get back in line" a little aggressively but I didn't think too much about it. my daughter started crying hysterically, she got back in line and I couldn't see her anymore but could hear her crying hysterically. Ms.Gina didn't see that I saw her telling her to get back in line. When my daughter got out of the class, she was extremely upset and still crying. That's when Ms.Gina said "she tripped that's why she's crying" We don't care that she told my daughter to get back in line but lying about it is very worrisome. We were still giving her the benefit of the doubt even though that incident wasn't sitting right with us. Later that night we watched the video of the class recording and what we saw made us angry and horrified! It was clear Ms.Gina was frustrated with my daughter. In one clip she tells my daughter "can you STOP" very aggressively and in another clip she grabs my daughter by her hair. I emailed the executive director and owner of the studio, Kendra with the screen recordings of those two incidents and not only did she defend and make excuses for her personal friend Gina, she also said she continues to be as proud as ever to have Gina as a member of their staff and Perfect Pointe family. I'm sharing this so others are aware.
