I think I spent around 4 or 5 years looking for a brilliant stylist who would actually listen to me and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Then I found Bliss in my own backyard. Its owner, Julieann, is the only person I will EVER let near my hair now. And at £7 for a funky style, just the way I like it, it's become absolute favourite hairdressers. The staff are lovely and you're always guaranteed to have a laugh when you visit as they talk about what they did last weekend!

I went here for a long time, in its old salon on high street then to the interim location on Prospect Road and then back to its newest, refurbished salon in High Street. The service is always top notch. You will get an excellent hair cut and the staff are friendly, efficent and helpful. The only problem is that it has just got too expensive. Its now £20 for a male cut and its even more for a female cut and colour. Which is a real pity because they have massage chairs and the salon is a lovely place to get a hair cut. I would definitely recommend Jacqui Bothwell hair for a great hair cut at a fairer price.

This is a super prestige salon, ideally located in High Street in Bangor, and you can be certain, from the moment you step through the doors, you will feel a million dollars. The inside is red brick, with a slightly industrial feel to it, but without the cluttered feel that so many salons have, this is the cream of the crop, and something that is very rare to see in Northern Irish salons. They give you a full consultation, and the stylists actually LISTEN to what you want, so you know that your hair style will be what you envisage, and that you are not just an experiment to the stylists creativity - so no walking out with something you didn't ask for, just because the stylist wanted to do it. Kevin Kahan's also have a beauty room, offering a full range of treatments, so it really is a one stop shop for all things pamper related! Jacqui and her staff are all friendly, helpful and brilliant with customers. You are always able to get an appointment, even if you call at short notice and they never get angry if you reschedule, which I have had to do on a number of occassions. I'm not usually one for chat at the hair place but its relax and chilled out in this place which is really good. A brilliant place to get your hair cut whether you are male or female.
