Amazing service and products. Affordable. Convenient. Loving my knives again! Thank you!!!

Very simple the service requested there was sharpening of my personal knives some of which actually were purchased from this location in the past. In the past, I've never had a single issue however it seems to be under new management or ownership and quality is not exactly what it was. I come back. I have Blunt spots on my blade edges and fortunately I do not have expensive knives I like carbon steel Chicago cutlery wooden handle, etc. just normal kitchen knives however, the grind on this last batch that I picked up was atrocious. The lady that used to be at the front and her daughter I do not see anymore. They were very good to work with. This place has a completely different feel about it. I'm curious what has changed from the sharpening aspect. read more

This place is a gem. Local restaurants have a knife swap program where they weekly trade out dull for sharp knives. When these get retired, you can buy them for pennies on the dollar. I came in with a Japanese chef knife, a cleaver and a pocket knife to sharpen to better than new for 13 read more

Fantastic place for all your sharpening needs at fabulous prices. I got 2 knives, pizza cutter & pizza rocker all done for less than $23! One of my knives had a chip and was poorly sharpened by another place. They fixed it like brand new. Everything is perfect! The business is set back from the street & hard to see. Just look for Linde welding sign & turn in. read more

They did a fast and effective job. Same day service and our knives were better than new. I'll be back with more to sharpen soon.

Great service! Great info and easy to drop off and pick up. Seemed like a family run business

Great customer service. The front desk was polite and friendly. The knife was sharp. What more could you ask for?!

I've enlisted their sharpening services for a variety of my kitchen knives twice in the last couple of years, and it has been a wonderful experience. The process couldn't be easier: you drop off your knives, then they'll tell you the cost and pickup time. Turnaround is quick as well; my knives were ready in less than 24 hours both times. And most importantly, they do an incredible job - the knives are always razor sharp! Pricing starts at $4/each for most knives (Chef's, Santoku, Japanese Chef's, Bread, Paring). Sashimi knives are $5/each since they're single bevel. read more

Fast and good quality service. The prices for sharpening are very reasonable and I would highly recommend Jay's sharpening services.

Great job on sharpening all your knives!! They are brand new as far as cutting and chopping. Reasonable price too!!!

I recently took over a dozen of my old knives in for sharpening. Many were 20 year old Wusthofs. I asked Jay (my nickname for him is "slash") to change the angle a bit. These 20 year knives are like new, as sharp as many of my $300+ Japanese knives and certainly a lot stronger. Can't recommend "slash" enough :) His price is amazingly low and service is fast. You really forget how amazing sharp knives can be as they get dull over the years and you don't maintain them properly. read more

They provide great and excellent customer service. Quality in sharpening all our knives and I'm very happy about it. For the value: the price is right! read more

Not only I enjoyed eating but lately during the pandemic I have been cooking to the point that my kitchen knives are all giving up on me. After talking to the sushi chef about where to go for knife sharpening. I found out about Jay's. Great place and so friendly + professional people. The turnaround time is about one day. You dropped off and they will call you for pick up. The price is more than fair. Also if you check in on yelps you will get 10% off. Easy 4 spots parking right in front of the store. Knife guards, cases, professional knives and stone for sharpening also available here. If you have some good knife that you love please definitely visit Jay's! read more

Sharpening knife comes to using wet stone or tri stone never been strength for me. Jay's Sharpening Service count on quality work and sharp knife. It was my first time at the free standing property. I am use to them coming to work at Bellagio stopping by restaurants pick up knifes news service. The free standing property surprised with the selection they had in the store. It really small place but they had bunch of different knives all displaying nicely in glass display (only type not see is global/ceramic or Japanese brands), different knife bags, steels, and more. If looking for all things comes basic needs cutlery they have options. I dropped off knives late so asked if pick it up the next day and no rush. They said no problem. I believe if went in early they probably could get back to u same day. They charge flat fee believe four dollars knife. Customer service without doubt five stars!!! My first visit was exactly the next day. I was greeted with warm welcome, hello, attentive, friendly, and awesome. Thanks Yelp they offer 10% discount on knife sharpening services. I used. If looking get lines sharpen stop by plus small family run local business. Support local!!! read more

I was very impressed by this place and the service they provided. There was no judgment here I brought my mix match hodge podge of kitchen knives. There is nothing expensive or professional about my knives but I was tired of getting roasted every time my mother or my mother Inlaw came over and had to use them. Both of them have culinary background and they were ruthless. So, I read about this place on Yelp and I had to get these knives sharpened. At $4 a knife they seemed to be way more reasonable then the other places that charge by the inch. You don't even need to have knives! They have these bins that have their already sharpened pizza cutter, filleting and Cheff knives that you can pick up for $4-$5 a piece! Pretty great deal if you ask me. You need to check this place out for some great sharpened knives!! read more

Dropped my knives off that desperately needed sharpening Monday. Was told they'd be ready Tues. morning. Tuesday morning comes and goes, but I didn't really think about it. I look at my phone later that afternoon and showed that they texted me at 9:30AM that the knives are ready to be picked up. Went to pick them up Wed. The girl at the counter said "$20." I thought she was saying $20 per knife, but nope, it. Was. $20. TOTAL!! $4/per knife! 2 of the knives have serrated blades, which I've always been charged extra for, but not here. I was shocked so I said "$20 for all of them? You sure?" To which she responded "Do you want to pay more?" I have "fancy" German knives and don't trust them to just anybody to sharpen them, but I'm glad I trusted the other Yelp reviews and went with Jay's. Location is in an industrial area and kinda hard to find - I just happened to turn my head as I was driving down Tompkins and saw the sign. Look for the "Praxair" signage in front and turn into the driveway, as it's tucked back behind a - towing company (I think). read more

Jay's Sharpening Service - For your knife sharpening needs - Knife Sharpening Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

My knife was totally out of shape and badly needed to be sharpened but I could never make it to Jay's before they closed. Finally got the time and dropped it off last week. Picked it up few days later and it was back to being as sharp as ever. It cut all my veg like a warm knife through soft butter. So glad I found Jay's. The price was reasonable and the service was even better. The nice lady even suggested a bin of cheap knives I could buy from if I needed a knife during the time my knife was in for service. It's just across the street from the Orleans Arena so if you need something sharpened, take it to Jays. They also sharpen gardening tools and scissors. Just remember to be careful after you get your new sharpened blades back. read more

Brought my knife back to life!! Going for 85 characters now. Still not there. Might have made it now.

A great resource for knife sharpening excellence, with quick one day turnaround, and thoughtful customer service. I'll be back

Dropped my knife to be sharpen"only top part of the bowie" was told would be done the next day when I came in the lady was like well we didn't get to do your knife for some "BS" reson (she couldn't even look me in the eye wile she was telling me this) and you can come in tomorrow and pick it up. I was like thank you much I would love if someone would gave me a call or a tex so I don't have to waste my time for nothing. When it comes to sharpening 5 stars customer service negative 1. They are so busy so no one had any time to let the paying customer know not to come in. I'll make sure I help this business and I'll go somewhere else. Thank you. read more

Dropped off three Lamson kitchen knives to be sharpened and received a text message a few hours later that they were done. Picked them up and closely inspected the work and I have to say I'm very impressed. By far the best sharpening company I have ever used. One knife had a little nick and that was fixed, the edges on the sharp ends were perfectly straight and have a nice, non-porous finish. Very sharp as well, of course. I very seldom get impressed by workmanship nowadays, but I sure was when picking up my knives. Highly, highly recommended. read more

Easy drop off and pick up service at their location. 4 dollars a knife with next day turn around.

Friendly staff and the knives came back perfect. Definitely, going back to Jay's in the future.

I have going to Jay's for twenty years. Always fast and courteous service! I don't know why I own a stone -- I never use it.

Came here and was blown away by their work. It was about a 24 hour turn around for my knives to be sharpened. I got them in 1054am and got them around 10:30 the next day. With those 4 knives it came out to $17 which wasn't too expensive for how sharp they were. I could shave my arms if I wanted to with the knives. One thing I do want to mention though. I wasn't given a order form or anything of the sort to fill out my information and I found that kind of odd. Maybe just a sheet to fill out the info and the names of knives if applicable so they don't get mixed up. Just a suggestion though read more

Jay's Sharpening Service - Wonderful sharpening job! - Knife Sharpening Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

Growing up I lived in a family that bought knives at places like Target and Dollar Tree. Suffice it to say, I've had more than a few knives break off their hilt while I was chopping and, it's only by the grace of God that I still have all of my fingers. My parents are the type that look at the price tag first and if it falls apart after a handful of uses, just go out and buy a new one. This never made sense to me and I always hated how I had to just deal with the fact that it was going to be either a test of strength or a test in not cutting my hand off when I would try to cut an uncooked sweet potato with a $1.00 steak knife. When I moved out onto my own, I thought about how my parents took care of knives and did the exact opposite. No dollar knives, no storing all of the knives in a ceramic pitcher like a bouquet, no throwing them in the dishwasher or letting them "soak" in a pot of water. Now, while my parents think I am insane for spending the same amount of money on a single knife and a pair of shears that they would spend on 120 knives at Dollar Tree, I'll do it my way to save my fingers and my time in the kitchen. Part of doing it my way is taking care of my quality pieces and that's where Jay's comes in. I found this place on Yelp and with a less than 24 hour turnaround, I had super sharp blades again. I took in: 8 inch Global Chef's Knife Kershaw Taskmaster Shears Cleverest Son's Wife (yeah that's the actual brand name) T-644 Stainless Cleaver Total bill: $9 I'm very pleased with how they turned out and my cleaver, which was a low cost but quality purchase from Ranch 99, is now sharper than when I purchased it. The place was SUPER busy as evidenced by the multitude of knives ready to go in and out of the sharpening room. If you need your knives before the weekend, make sure to bring them in ahead of time (maybe midweek) because everyone clearly has the same idea to get them sharpened at the last minute on Friday morning. read more

As promised, I received a text the following day that my knives were ready. Picking up my like new sharp knives was also fast and easy. My kitchen knives were $4.00 a knife! Someone else quoted me $1.00 per inch. I saved a bunch of money and I'm super happy with the craftsmanship. I highly recommend Jay's. Please be sure to call and confirm their hours. It's like my knifes are like new. I take great care of them and get them sharpened frequently but since my move and traveling I had found a place. They showed me how dull my knifes had become. That's Jay's Sharpening Service for taking such great care of my items. Certainly I'll be back. read more

Being new to the area, we seem to be in constant search of various types of vendors and services. Yelp is so helpful for evaluating different options. And that's how we found Jay's Sharpening Service. Their shop is tucked in from the street a bit, but it is well worth the hunt! My husband is a chef and very particular about his knives so we only took in a few knives on the first visit. They were fast and very reasonably priced... and most importantly, did a great job! We will definitely be back with the others. It may seem counterintuitive, but having sharp knives is so important for safety because you're more likely to cut yourself or have a knife slip if your knives are dull, than you are when your knives are properly sharpened. When was the last time you had your knives sharpened? That long? You need to get to Jay's! read more

Stopped into Jay's to get several knives sharpened. The neighborhood is industrial but don't let that bother you Jay's has a great lobby with knives for sale. The staff greetings us and were very helpful and polite. The person that helped us let us know the cost to sharpen the 6 knives and when they should be ready. They were ready early. We used some of the knives that night and were very happy with the sharpening. They are sharper than I ever remember. They are easy to cut with. They did a great job sharpening the knives. I will be back to get more knives sharpened. I highly recommend Jay's. Keep up the great service. read more

10 years in Vegas and I have had my blades sharpened by mobile sharpeners and that other shop on Charleston. Never have I received all my blades and shears in working condition. In June I took my blades and shears in 2 separate orders to Jay's and gave them a try. WOW everything cuts like warm butter! I am so impressed by their work. I am an extremely busy groomer inside of an animal hospital and my tools are my money makers. I am so happy I can finally trust a place to do a quality job on my tools.
