A quick google search brought up Bonds in a newspaper interview of Lynn the proprietor, I admired this grandmothers tenacity in keeping her business alive thru Covid and hard economic times so after calling to confirm she was indeed still in business(operating out of her home now) we took a short drive over. As one reviewer said, there is definitely a hint of hoarder in her house but it felt more like something out of Hogwarts to me which was fun. Lynn is the matriarch in her home of multi generations and the floor and walls are piled high from floor to ceiling with every type of cutlery known from kitchen to camping to tactical... how she remembers what she has and where it is stored is a marvel in itself. After inspecting a range of cleavers we fell in love with a 7" Shun DM712 chefs knife from Japan, and to my surprise Lynns price was very competitive with the best online pricing. I gave this guy so many chances to right his wrongs before I gave this review. I got 2 pairs of shears done here a week ago that I use for dog grooming and he charged me $40 and said he needed an hour. $40 is really high and an hour is obscene but I gave him a shot anyways. BTW it was a 20 minute drive for me one way. I drove all the way home and drove all the way back and picked them up later that day. When I got home, neither one of them cut hair. I had to go out of my way and drive all the way back AGAIN so he could "fix" them. My straight scissors seemed ok after he "fixed" them, so I gave him another pair of straights to do while he attempted to fix my curved scissors. I wanted to believe in this guy and give him my business. This is his career, his business name carries the word "Shears" so I figured, maybe, he just had a bad day the first time. I even paid for the second pair of straights to be done, but I felt it was pretty unbelievable he even charged me for them, considering all of this. Don't I feel like a dummy because when I got home for the 3rd time, the 2nd pair of straights I paid for today, also won't cut hair. None of them cut! My $100 pair of curved scissors(the most important ones) appear to be damaged beyond repair. It bends the hair all the way to the top. They are completely ruined. He made them even worse the 2nd time around. I called him politely today and told him none of my scissors cut hair, and that I can't afford to pay again for someone else to fix them and he started yelling at me and told me I'm too negative and to take my business elsewhere. He had the nerve to tell me it was all my fault my shears don't work when they worked fine before I gave them to him! I just wanted them sharpened so I could go back to work. He took absolutely no accountability or had any remorse and had no issue taking my hard earned money knowing damn well that he was incapable of sharpening them. My shears are my livelihood as a single mother and He ruined all of them. I should of never came here and givin this guy so many chances and so much money. This guy claims to be a working American but there is nothing American about how he conducts business. Business who rob their customers should not stay open and should never be supported. This guy is a criminal!
