Welcome to brewery #278 for me. I was very pleased with the vibe at Tangled Roots. Very nice place!…read more I sat at the bar and ordered a flight. Great service although they were a little busy. Los Pollos Hermanos Mexican lager was a good Mexican lager. Very easy to drink. Kit Kupfer amber ale had a little fruity flavor I couldn't quite place but when I looked at the beer menu it described it as "hint of peach". Yeah, I think that's it. A very light amber ale. Very nice beer! SWPFTD would enjoy this one. Midnight Mirage black IPA...ok, this was interesting. And I don't mean that in a snide way at all. It's a black IPA with a whole host of fruit flavors. Grapefruit was definitely there on the back of the tongue on the finish, as well as apricot but that was more on the nose. Not a heavily bitter IPA at all. This might be my favorite so far. Decadent Orange Dobroy Nochi imperial stout had a really good orange flavor to it. I still think the back IPA is my favorite though. I wasn't really hungry but perused the menu and ordered a starter of the fresh artisanal bread with an awesome honey butter. There was another butter with it but I forgot what it was while under the thrall of the honey butter. I ate ALL of that myself. I truly enjoyed TRB. The beers were great, the bread was excellent, and the service was good as well. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.

Valorie makes sure everything from wines to all different liquors and accessories are available. Terry is expert on craft brews and beer in general. My friends who do beer tell me "Terry knows his stuff". Jake is bringing in all the top shelf liquor. I prefer whiskey and Jake has ordered some specialties and full barrels that are unique. Recently, a barrel of blue popcorn whiskey from Whiskey Acres was a product that hit me by surprise. Special barrels from Elijah Craig and another from Makers Mark coming soon. Top brands like Belle Meade Bourbon as well conventional brands like Jack Daniels and Jim Beam product lines can all be bought here. You will feel like family when you visit the store and always greeted as a long lost friend.

At least that has been what I have experienced unless I go to the big chain liquor store. Vineyard is something completely different. There are rows of spirits and a well stocked cooler. The difference here is the customer service. You will greeted when you walk in, you will get asked if you need help, they make you feel like family. Their selection is great and the staff is knowledgeable. My husband and his family that live in the area have been going there for years. This is a local business that I love to support.

Garage looking type of brewery in Niles in some industrial type of building. It seems there's a lot…read moreof these, but this is among the good ones. Une Annee is one of the reasons to go to this pretty boring looking suburb. Hit up the bar for some cold ones plus on site made food. The prices aren't bad for craft beers and kitchens. A pretty impressive looking building. It's big and can fit hundreds. This is like a massive garage with a bar and a kitchen. First though it's a brewery. It's about $6 a pint. The one I liked the most was the Twist Of Wit. It's a wheat beer with Cara Cara oranges, coriander, and Meyer lemon. Tasted fruity but not too much. Also we got some food, which was actually good for a brewery. Vegan options are limited but there's a few. It's $6 for the Veggie Chili. This is vegan without the sour cream sauce. Also there's barbecue. There's pork belly and that kind of stuff. Beers are the best things to get here. It also has food from an on site kitchen. There's meaty options like pork and there's chili for vegetarians.

Their front of house is lacking in people skills. Their food is sub par and basically only passes the edible test. There is nothing I would recommend. It all tastes like it was cooked days ago and reheated for servicee There was a bone in my carnitas taco.... Why do I comeback? Cause of happy hour and the giant outdoor area for my kids to move around in. I'm done here though too many trips with a bad taste in my mouth literally and figuratively.

So are you ready for my recap of our bourbon-rye-scotch whiskey tasting--I'll give it a shot!…read more Three tiers within each category (low, middle and HIGH)--within each category--that's some whiskey business. We had guests dropping by--so the house was neat. Once our friends were there--it was full of spirits. They had to score all the whiskeys, identify if it was bourbon, rye or scotch, and whether the bottle was a premium brand or top shelf--and this put everyone in a dram good mood. It was a barrel of laughs, I could barley get in a word edgewise. But that's ok, I had to grain and bear it. Some spirited arguments broke out over which was the highest priced bottle -- but fortunately no friendships were on the rocks over it. Did everyone enjoy the event? Here's proof -- they're asking us to repeat this.
