Basmati rice was plentiful, and the garlic naan was perfectly crispy buttery with fresh chopped garlic and cilantro - just the way I expect! The restaurant has North Indian offerings like chicken tikka masala, but we found they have a distinct South Indian flavor, sweeter and with a nut rather than dairy base. Right away, I noticed that my order didn't come with onion chutney; just the brown sauce and green sauce. IMO they should have that on hand since it's a staple condiment at Indian restaurants. I tried the samosas first and was very impressed! Not only were they delicious, they weren't greasy or heavy at all; These might be my favorite samosas ever and also the most healthy! Then I tried the channa masala and noticed that they made it with dairy cream. I called them and they said they can make it without cream if you ask, so I'll do that next time. It tasted average, as did the rice. I originally gave Indian Hot Breads a 4 and that's the same score I'm using now. Seems like a pretty good place and I'm planning to go back and try other dishes, but I really think they need to bring back the haka noodles and onion chutney.

When I arrived to pick it up, the manager, Jaya, told me they had never received my order. I showed her the order on my phone and explained that the charge was showing as pending on my Bank of America account. She insisted that I had not successfully placed the order and asked me to show her the confirmation again. To resolve the issue, I placed the order a second time while she stood next to me and watched. I was then charged twice for the same order. Despite this, she still refused to make the food, explaining that the ticket had not come through on their end and that they didn't know whether they would get paid. I explained that I didn't understand how the second order could also not be coming through, especially since I had just placed it while she watched me go through the ordering process. She could also see the two pending charges on my bank account, but continued to say that they didn't know whether they would receive payment. Rather than trying to find a solution, she continued showing me that orders from other customers had come through earlier in the evening. At that point, I had essentially been charged twice and still couldn't get the food I had ordered. I left without receiving either order and with two pending charges. I ultimately had to dispute the charges with my bank to get them reversed. I'm a very loyal customer when I find a restaurant I like, and I often become a repeat customer and recommend places to others. That's what makes this experience particularly disappointing. I try to support local businesses, but unfortunately, I left feeling like my business simply wasn't wanted. I'm giving 1 star only because Yelp doesn't allow 0 stars.

The curry wasn't too overpowering and the crust was thin. So think new haven pizza with an Indian twist... that isn't trying too hard like Bobbi's. The flatbread was good but i soon regretted it as I had an appointment afterwards! The server was very kind and there in also a koi fish tank that another employee was tending to. 4 stars, because the darbar pizza, flatbread and a soda was a whopping $51 before tip. So i probably won't go out of my way from Danbury to grab this. However if I was close by, this would be a once in awhile treat.

We kicked off with the lamb samosas and veggie platter and WOW what FLAVORS. Each bite was an experience, and so so tasty. My friend got the chicken biryani and I went with the chicken tikka masala and can I just say how impressed I was that our food stayed warm the whole entire time? Like it was still steaming as we packed it away, I was so impressed with that because there's nothing I hate more than lukewarm food being brought out to me. Regardless of that, my masala was incredible and I was sad I had to stop myself so I could save room for dessert. Because then I filled up on basically all of the cheese naan and it is some of the best I have ever had and if you're visiting New Haven and want authentic Indian food, this is the place to go.
