I stayed 2 nights at the Nakoma Resort. It's a nice looking building. The rooms look nice ,…read moretoo...but in my opinion were not designed for the user/guest experience. As I entered the room I noticed the coffee area. I was happy to see I could have coffee in the room in the morning. It was a bit strange to see the sweeteners, sugar and cream in a zip lock baggie?!. It just seemed cheap and cheesy...not to mention there wasn't a stir stick to be had...and only 2 regular and 2 decaf Kcup. I asked for get more for the next morning and didn't not find it when I returned after hours. No front desk, or any other service after about 7 I think. I got some from my sisters' room thank goodness I will say the beds were pretty comfy. I sat on it to check it out and saw the ?window? into the bathroom which really caused me to wonder why someone would do that. It is obscure, but anyone in there can be seen pretty easily according to my sisters who were sharing another room. They were quite surprised as well. Another thing that got my attention was the height of the shower head. I'm just under 5'-7" and could just barely reach it to aim it or change the spray pattern. There is nothing in the tub to get traction and I had a couple of slips that I wasn't expecting...no grab bars anywhere!? After my shower I had to exit the 'bathroom' to the mirror and sink to shave and brush?!? It's located right next to the coffee cabinet... which it right at the door!... a counter with a sink and mirror. The 'bathroom' sink! Seriously?! What a dumb place for the 'bathroom sink! It's RIGHT at the door and there seems to be no thought of privacy in these rooms! The faucet at the sink is quite tall and as the water hits the very flat square sink the water splashes onto yo and the surrounding area! I had to start laughing...but was not happy. I turned on the 'lights' for the sink and laughed yet again. There is 1 light over head for the door but behind you...and the 'lighted' mirror. There are 2 lights at top and bottom the just throw a little 'glow'. I can't call it 'light' because it was so dim. So with all available lighting, it was woefully lacking! I don't have the makeup thing to worry about...but for ladies that do, lol, good luck!!! It's really hard to imagine how anyone designing this room had any thought of the guests. If I was there with an intimate partner...that might be one thing...but other than that...I like to get ready after a shower in private. It really blew my mind...bad designer!! Way more interested the 'look' than utility!!! I was also disappointed that the only place to have a sit down meal was all the way across the street and up quite a long driveway! You have to order from the bartender and then it's brought to you. again, seemed cheap and cheesy to me...but whatever. The Nakoma Resort seems to brag itself up as a luxury experience and everything I saw and experienced was WAY under 'par'! It seems there was no thought put into the guests convenience or experience...and it isn't inexpensive either...just sayin... If you can, stay somewhere else!

We usually enjoy our stay here yearly. This year customer service was subpar. It started with a…read moresimple light bulb being burned out. I asked two days in a row for a replacement, even bringing it to the front desk to a woman asking for it to be replaced and currently am sitting here without a bedside lamp. Richard at the front desk was friendly, but was unavailable when asking for assistance. Next, the toilet paper holder was hanging by a thread. Last, we could not get dinner reservations at the lodge or massage appointments at the lodge or nearby. Dinner is tricky around here and the front desk doesn't tell you that. Many places aren't open beyond 6:30 or at all and some will only take reservations and are booked. Our last night here we had to drive to Portola and have pizza in order to have food. Thank goodness the staff at the pizza place were happy to have our business and the pizza was delicious.

Emily is awesome! She's friendly, helpful, honest, and fair! I've made Bella Grey Med Spa my go-to…read moreplace and so grateful to Emily and her staff for making me feel welcome and taking such good care of me during each visit!

It pains me to write this, but here you go..... and a bit long…read more Bella Grey Medical Spa! If you do AI on what a Medical Spa is, this is the definition: A medical spa, or med spa, is a hybrid facility that combines the relaxing atmosphere of a day spa with medical-grade cosmetic treatments performed by licensed medical professionals, such as physicians, nurses, or physician assistants. 'These services are supervised by a physician' and go beyond traditional spa services by utilizing advanced technology for a range of non-surgical aesthetic and rejuvenation procedures like laser treatments, chemical peels, and injectables. So my first question/concern/issue is that 'these services are supervised by a physician'. This is most definitely not a Med Spa that is supervised by a Physician. Emily's credentials are MSN, APRN, FNP-BC. Clearly not MD, DO, anything that would indicate Physician supervised. So, IDK? What do you think? So let's move on to that it is a 'hybrid facility that combines the relaxing atmosphere of a day spa with medical-grade cosmetic treatments'. I dare that you to go here and think that any treatment you have feels relaxing. Like wow, Emily, the owner does not give off a relaxing vibe at all. In and out in 15 - 20 minutes. Please tell me, absolutely not that. Relaxing? Definitely not. And let's move on to my last treatment. $10/unit botox special! Wow, she absolutely over injected my forehead, I had welts and had a Botox headache for 3 days. Have never had that in all the times that I have had Botox (30 years+). And the IPLs I have had are joke. It's just zap, zap, zap - I think 3 minutes? Others that I have had provided numbing cream before and gave 2 - 3 passes. I bought a 6 IPL package, did 4 - what a mistake. So I am 65, not that that matters - but for 30+ years I have been doing Botox, IPLs, Sculptra, Fillers, had a Face Lift, Eye Lift - you name it, I have done it. Am I vain? Absolutely! (just wait until you're 65, ha!) So, Emily will come back and say that I am the worst patient, that I asked a question over the phone if I could do an IPL and Botox on the same day. She will say that I was argumentative, that I yelled at here (I absolutely did not). She will say a lot of things.... but IMHO - take your time with your patients, just saying. I would also like to add that I have been in Healthcare for my entire career. 45+ years. This is not a place I would recommend or refer to friends. Clearly there are a lot of options in Reno, in town, find someone that is compassionate, understanding of your needs and takes time to give you what you need/want. Obviously you are paying out of pocket - so yeah, do your research! Now reading Emily's response, these are now my words/my response: I was never rude, I did not yell at her, I was most definitely not slurring, omg! I just asked a question on the phone. Could I do Botox and an IPL same - she responded and I booked my appointment for an IPL and Botox. That clearly did not go so well. She wants to keep on with the banter, make me look bad (why would you do that to a patient) I'm good and I know that I would never go back to her! So any of you that are in your 50s/60s as I am - I don't think Emily is the right person for you, I think she's early/mid 40s-ish?..... Look for someone that understands you, your age, takes their time with you. And this is an interesting response, right? 'Again, please stop. I have several witnesses to your belligerent phone calls where you are incredibly rude, slurring your words, and asked to no longer be a patient here. Please stop.' Oh my goodness! Please get over yourself! Yup, please provide those several witnesses, really? Honestly, who would say that? I will say the same to EMILY! You are a Healthcare Provider that is not compassionate, completely Rude, completely and truly all about you. So yeah, Please stop! Yowza! At the end of the Day, why would you want to go to a Provider that feels like they need to blast their patients? Emily is self absorbed/all about herself. So done!

I recently relocated to the San Jose area from Arizona where I had an esthetician I loved who used a product line called Osmosis that is the only product line that has ever been helpful to my sensitive, hyper-reactive skin. I contacted Osmosis when I moved to find an esthetician in the San Jose area that was trained in and sold their products and they recommended Aimee. Thank God. Aimee is a true skin care professional who is knowledgeable and has a commitment to ongoing education. Aimee offers a variety of services including lymph drainage, microcurrent, LED facials, as well as more traditional facial options. Every time I go to see her, she mentions a new class she has taken or service she is training in to expand her client offerings. Aimee has the knowledge, training, and product lines to be able to customize each facial according to the needs of the client and it is safe to trust her implicitly to do this. Aimee's demeanor is friendly and professional and she is a down-to-earth person. She is an authentic and very comfortable person to be in a room with. Although she may make product recommendations to you if appropriate, she is not pushy and you never feel like she expects you to buy anything other than paying for your service. Her prices for facials are very competitive, especially in consideration of the excellent service and comfortable, well-apportioned space. She has early morning hours for appointments which is great for working women who might find it more convenient to get a facial before work rather than fighting traffic to get to an appointment on time at the end of the day. I have been to several estheticians who claim to be using microcurrent, but who are not using true microcurrent. The microcurrent system that Aimee uses is the real deal. Even if you think you have had microcurrent in the past, especially if you saw no results, I encourage you to talk to Aimee about it and experience the difference that having a true, professionally administered microcurrent treatment with professional-grade equipment can make in the health and appearance of your skin in just one treatment. I also recommend the Osmosis products that Aimee carries for home care as well as the Osmosis mineral cosmetics. The products are organic and although they are very gentle, they are very effective. At 40+ years of age, I had given up on resolving most of the skin problems that had plagued me my entire life (clogged pores, stress and hormone breakouts, hyper pigmentation) and had just accepted that my skin would never change. I was also starting to see the effects of aging becoming more pronounced. When I started using the Osmosis products, I began to get compliments on how beautiful my skin is for the first time in my life. The combination of these products at home and an Osmosis facial and microcurrent treatment about once every six weeks has literally given me the best skin of my life. If you are looking for a truly professional esthetician and a fantastic facial experience, you cannot do any better than Aimee's Way.

Amy not only came in on her day-off to accommodate me, but she helped my tired, dry sensitive skin look and feel incredible. Amy concentrates on great personal care and attention for her clients. Not only are her facials relaxing and rejuvenating, the products she uses are healing and restorative. She introduced me to a wonderful line called Osmosis, and my skin loves it! It has hydrated and infused my skin back to a healthy, "happy" state, just in time for my wedding. Her spa is small, and warm, and very clean and articulately decorated. She also shares her spa space with her Pilates and Yoga studio. It has a great atmosphere, and the warmth that Amy exudes in her passion for wellness and great skincare only makes the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Amy for your skin care needs!
