It seems unwise to claim to know nothing about the work you were hired to do and seems additionally irresponsible not to follow up when you promised to do so. Given that there is a Duke order in effect which would allow an immediate sale of the home, and given that his client has claimed to want to buy the property herself, it would seem egregiously imprudent to fail to respond.
