I was very quiet and apprehensive during our first session because of how afraid I was to open up and be vulnerable, but that quickly changed when I realized how safe and comfortable I felt within our first two sessions. Marla follows a Cognitive Behavioral therapy approach and is very well-versed in the works of Dr. David Burns and Dr. Brene Brown. She is welcoming, empathetic, very engaged in therapy sessions and is excited to see you grow. I have learned so much about managing my emotions, tackling past traumas and being the most authentic version of myself. I feel that my therapy with Marla has encouraged me to jump outside of my comfort zone, where I have found opportunities I never would have thought existed. Through personalized talk therapy and various "homework" assignments between sessions, I have been able to discover so much about myself and really tap into my strengths. I am now very self-aware and strive to explore things that intimidate me with new curiosities. I now have a strong sense of self-appreciation and growing confidence, and I am much more comfortable recognizing my flaws, confronting my shame and initiating shame resilience. Through my time in therapy, I have even discovered my passion for helping others help themselves, and am now pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Psychology! Other than that he doesn't thoroughly look at situations and he makes unreasonable decisions. He has a robotic demeanor and sincerely/genuinely care about the child's best interest. Even when there are supporting positive documents, he over looks it. For example, I have a wonderful relationship with my daughter and her mother. Whom live out of the area. My daughters mother and her husband wrote a great character letter about my parenting and how we all co parent very well. Unfortunately the current ex is difficult. I asked Trent "why can't I see my child (son) when all has been completed and my daughters mother says I'm a great dad" his answer was "Well, they are 2 different people" Trent even did an evaluation on my son and my son stated that he misses me and loves me. All positive notes from Sierra vista too. After the positive evaluation, Trent pretty much said that my son is doing good without me and to continue seeing him through supervised visits (which cost $80 per visit) its been going on for 3 years already! I understand that it's not my sons moms fault. She has emotional issues that she needs to work on. However, Trent is to be the professional.
