So I'm moving to Hattiesburg this summer, and I've started my search for fun coffee shops/eats in the area. I stumbled upon the Java Moe's Oakwood location on Apple Maps and saw the 4.9/5 star review with 1.6k responses. I knew I had to try this place. It is a little shack in the parking lot with a Michaels, and there are drive-thru entrances on both sides of the shack. For what it is, the line moved very quickly, and the drinks were reasonably priced! We paid maybe $13.50 for a medium hot Cinnamon Delight and a large iced Salted Caramel Cheesecake coffee with oat milk. The menu says the Salted Caramel Cheesecake drink won some prize for being the "Best Specialty Drink"-- and I would agree. It wasn't too sweet, wasn't too milky, but wasn't bitter or watery. The other specialty drinks look like they will be great to try as well. The cashier was friendly and got me signed up for the loyalty program too! I am so elated about this find--I LOVED it, 5/5. I was introduced by a friend to try this little coffee shack. There are two locations in my area, and this is the one I go to the most since it's right there by the exits to the interstate. I am a pretty picky coffee drinker and usually only go to Starbucks. I was tired of paying so much money there, so I decided to give Java Moe's a shot. Not only was my coffee really affordable (about $4-5 for a medium and $6 for a large) but it tastes like HIGH QUALITY coffee! I still like my occasional Starbucks, but I definitely come here a few times a week before work. Sometimes the line can be pretty long and take a minute, so hopefully you're patient! After all, it's a tiny little shack with a drive-thru on both sides. I've tried a few different flavors of their iced coffees, and they're all really good! I don't have a favorite yet, but I haven't been disappointed yet. They told me their most popular iced coffees are the Turtle, Caramel, and White Chocolate. I've also tried their foods, and that's the only thing I wouldn't recommend. Just get coffee here. read more

This is delicious high quality coffee. Tastes great goin' down, and several hours afterwards you get the after effect taste reverberations that keep coming back and let chu know they like you... Also, right off the interstate. So if you are doing a road-trip (which the ole lady and I were doin') and you need some hi, hi quality coffee (not Sbucks) this is where you come. Drive thru service. My fiancée and I decided to grab coffee this morning. We didn't know what we wanted quite yet since it was our first time being there. We got up to the window and the young lady was very passive. We didn't think too much of it since we were still trying to figure out what we wanted. She seemed very impatient, and when I asked her about a certain flavor, she was very annoyed. We told her our order, payed, and got our change back. It was a couple cents we had gotten back, so my fiancée wanted to put it in the tip jar, only to find out that she couldn't reach it. I insisted to keep the change and we would give her cash when we had gotten our coffee. The second she closed the drive thru window, we both hear her talking about our service. She was describing my fiancée in a very hurtful way to her coworkers, saying how we didn't know what we wanted, and also pointed out how she didn't tip; when for certain that was our plan all along. This went on until she served us our coffee. We are big tippers, and know how life and work balance is, especially being younger, and maybe in college. We couldn't believe how someone could be so hateful about something so small. We decided not to give her cash, we took our coffee, and headed out. The coffee is great, but just know when you're talking bad about customers who support your business, be more aware of your surroundings. read more

Hotel coffee is the worst So I needed a good cup. I hit the Yelp search and this spot was very close. It's a drive through only I like lattes. It was excellent. The server was very friendly, easy on the eyes and had that Mississippi accent. Can't ask for more. 5 stars read more

I was stayvacationing in Hattiesburg for the weekend and I needed me a pick me up and the hotel I was staying had the most terrible coffee possible. 35 minutes I waited this morning. The location on 98 is 10x faster and they make an effort to get everything out fast.

I don't know the story of this place, but this little drive thru window of a coffee stop has closed and reopened a couple of times. I make the drive from Chattanooga to NOLA several times a year and I am always looking for an alternative to gas station coffee on my drive. I was thrilled to see it open again. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop I have ever been to. Of course, I come here all the time! I always get the "Java Moe frappe " or just the "Java Moe," which is hot coffee. The staff is always friendly and quick to make the coffee. You also can get a Java moe card, and every time you buy something you get points and can earn FREE coffee! I will wake up early before my 8 am classes to allow myself time to go by Java Moe's. They are THE BEST coffee places, but definitely need to expand their stores. My husband and I can not get enough of Java Moe's! Since moving here, this coffee spot has been our go-to for our coffee fix. And every employee we've met has been beyond nice and helpful. Driving through, wanted someplace close to the highway. I was very happy to find they had iced decaf, which most places don't. Coffee was strong and good! And the staff were super friendly. I save five stars for really exceptional higher end coffee, but this really hit the spot! read more

java moe's has good coffee and customer service, but the wait always drives me away. i can't stand to wait 30 minutes in a line for a coffee that'll be gone in 3 sips. their sizes are small (the large is like a grande at Starbucks). i wish there was a way to make the line move faster, but these people don't get in a hurry at all. read more
