I would have puked. I take these things home, unwrap one, and 3 roaches climb out of inside of the white paper from the sub. I was so shocked I threw it in the garbage, and looked into the bag, where I found roach eggs and a small smashed roach. Knowing that, I carefully went for the second sub and opened it carefully, and yes. More dead smashed roaches and two live one on the sub crawling away. NEVER again. Maybe it was the paper, the bag, the bread, no one bothered to look, and they were fine with giving me these to consume. NO thank you. Close this place.

The dining room is very nicely decorated and feels very open with all the windows! It was clean and there were lots of seating options. The bathrooms were also very nice and clean. I ordered the grilled Italian sandwich with marinara sauce added, and really liked it! I think I would like it better without the marinara sauce next time, but I was very happy with my order! The staff seemed very friendly and were all super energetic. We were welcomed in when we came into the restaurant and everyone that was working there seemed happy to be there! Great atmosphere, great food, and amazing service! I will be here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!

This restaurant is located…read moreinside the Botanical Gardens but you don't need to pay to eat here, it's located next to the gift shop. Sometimes the food venue in a place like this can be terrible and over priced -- this isn't the case with Fern & Feast Bistro. The food selection here is pretty decent, sandwiches, tacos, salads, burgers, flatbreads etc, most in the $9-12 range. They have some kid options (chicken nuggets, grilled chese, quesadilla, etc) for picky eaters at $6 each. Downside is that the sandwiches etc don't come with fries or chips, so that could increase your meal price. I ordered the Uber sandwich because I feel like that is a good gauge of how the food will be and is pretty standard at most restos. Mine was served relatively quick on an environmentally friendly plate made if recycle paper products (I don't care all that much but I know some people will appreciate that touch). Club was delicious, but make sure to grab mustard and mayo. Bread was toasted just the right amount; it had some char but was not too dry or crunchy. Lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the proportions and amounts of the turkey, ham and beacon was great. But the best reason to come to this place is the scenery. From the back of the narrow seating area you can grab a seat that looks out over the Botanical Gardens or of you keep going back they have outdoor seating available. The weather was wonderful today and so I ate my sandwich on the patio taking in nature and avoiding the man with three children who all needed discipline in their life inside. If you're looking for a place to stop and relax with decent food while the weather is good - this is your place. Give it a shot!

I took my brother and his family it LuCa before I left town for a present and was very surprised…read more The decor was luscious, white table cloth chic and offered a menu that rivals the menu. We ate outside while the weather was nice and were treated to the server that was very attentive to the table. The ragu+taglietelle was fantastically cooked w/ a bite to it (al dente) and the sauce was a tomato based meat sauce ragu that was pretty good for the price (I'm a bit snobby about ragu/bolognese). It was a great dish to me and the other dishes were as good, there isn't a bad dish I've had on the menu... it has been nothing but great experiences. LuCa competes with other Italian spots for fancy dinners here in Huntsville, but it is at the top of my list and viewed as one of the few places that are worth the price to me. I'll return here for the specials and other fancy dinners or meals, as the food and experiences are that good.

Let me preface this by saying I don't care for Italian food, it's heavy creamy, and pasta centric...all the things I don't like. When we went to Italy I loved on minestrone soup and had chicken one time. I actually lost weight which was a nice bonus! We came here because my Sisters were hungry and we thought it would be a fun place to try. Our server was efficient. They do offer a sizeable wine selection and we got some samples to taste before deciding on a bottle which was a nice touch. Unfortunately I found the samples to be lacking in any real flavor reminiscent of Greek wines. Drinkable? Absolutely. Delicious? No. Also, one of my Sisters saw one of her best friends and her husband and wanted to introduce all of us which she did and they stood at our small table in the crowded area catching up. Within minutes we were fussed at for "being too loud" in a crazy loud restaurant. I saw nothing out of line on our interaction and found this "fussing at" very uncalled for. So friend and husband left (they were on the way out anyway) and we went on with our meal hoping to not be fussed at again. My Sisters got the meatballs and liked them, and enjoyed the bread service with olive oil they added some spices to and I got the antipasti (sp?) that we all shared. The meats in this dish were delicious and nearly all the cheeses, especially the large soft hunks of Bleu cheese were delicious! The highlight of the meal for me. The olives were small and could have benefitted from a light tempura batter (not Italian, I know) to add some textural variety and could have been better with larger olives and maybe some stuffed with that delicious Bleu cheese. One of the cheeses was inferior to me, sort of flavorless and maybe that's because the Bleu cheese was so outstanding it just couldn't compare. I don't see myself returning to this restaurant even for a single glass of wine. It was loud, sort of contentious, and offers dishes I don't personally love. Thanks Osteria for drinkable white one and good Bleu cheese and meats in the one appetizer dish!

The bagels were…read morepretty good you can tell they were prepared in the traditional boiled manner that results in the chewy outside texture. And they offer just enough Schmear as an extra and will toast it for you. It is a quaint place that offers a place to hang out for a while. The staff was cordial not overly friendly and seemed really focused on the tasks at hand. I would have liked to have had a better breakfast bagel sandwich selection as that is what I was looking for but most of the offerings were on toasted bread.

I still like this place and have even gotten "real food" there…read more Pros: Staff are friendly! They nicely ground the bag of (overpriced) coffee I bought with zero complaints. The breakfast sandwiches and BLT are decently executed, but I'm REALLY not a fan of their bagels. Their bread (particularly the baguette) is fantastic, though. Note: it sells out quickly. You can still pick up your to-go order without having to deal with people. They now have a cute bookshop inside. They make their own cream cheese! Cons: If I'm paying $1.50 for an avocado add on, PLEASE don't let it be oxidized and brown and gross. This makes me sad. Parking is still a nightmare. See above about the bagels. I'm prepared for the hate I'm about to get, but I prefer Bruegger's...which is sad, as I'm sure they're produced and come in frozen. Prices have gone up, but that's to be expected. I would love, however, the option to not add on a side for less moolah. I don't want their straight from the bag chips, random baby carrots, or (somewhat icky) fruit. Depending on the timing, you may be able to get a seat. Or you may be fighting a soccer mom with 4 screaming toddlers just to pick up a to go order. Still a fan, but know what you're getting.

Food is outstanding. There's actually options for vegetarian diets including pescatarian. So, the Romeo Roll is full of fresh gulf shrimp seasoned well with lettuce , this homemade corn salsa that's just super fresh. Haven't had a bad one yet. Tracy, owner, makes me a Romeo Roll in a salad and it's amazing with goat cheese, shrimp, (I do not eat the Andouille sausage-vegetarian) but I tried a bite because I did forget to have them remove it the second time-it's good. They have no problem customizing your order or tailoring to your diet, this is a good spot in Huntsville. It's loud on certain days which I do not mind , gives good energy. I noticed that they also support the community-important. City folks-this is as close to a dive that I can find here.
