It's the course where a friend and I got another cart stuck in a ditch the first time our parents let us go play unsupervised. So, how can I not say anything but good things about this place. It's a small 9 hold "private" club. And, as the town has shrunk, so has the membership. But, the members are passionate and work hard with the limited resources to keep up the beautiful community they have created. This little course offers a men's league, Ladies day, scotch foursomes, Wednesday lunches (just cause), as well as a variety of other community building events. My parents are members here again after years long absence and are really enjoying the fun. And, I'm lucky enough to get to join them when I visit home. If you happen to visit the area and want to play some golf - check this place out. And while the course may not be top notch, the people are kind and welcoming and you can't beat the view you see when you look back from the green on the 7th! (Watch out for the fox though - he WILL steal your ball - in the cutest way possible and when you've just had the best shot!)

For practice, it has two oversized pitching/putting greens by the clubhouse and an easy-to-use, coin-operated range (tip: do the 3 for $10 deal). The course is typically in excellent shape, and while it has very few water hazards, it makes up for it with multiple doglegs, undulating greens, and well-placed bunkers. The course has several weeknight events and tournaments on the weekend, appealing to all levels of golfers. For example, my wife loves the "Wine and 9" ladies night, which features group instruction and drinks/snacks at the end. There are a variety of membership options that can save you some money, but overall, it's quite affordable to play, and I tend to opt for the 10-play passes (available for greens fees and cart), which provide a small discount. The ballpark cost of playing 18 with a cart is $40-45. After your round, the siren song of the attached Hero's restaurant/19th hole (with an incredible deck overlooking beautiful scenery) will demand your presence and assist you with either drowning out that crucial missed par putt or celebrating a record round. It features a solid draft beer lineup (typically BL, a rotating Sam Adams varietal, and Frye's Leap IPA) with several alternative bottle options and a pared down menu from the main Hero's downtown location. It might be bar food, but it's high quality -- may I suggest the boneless wings with sweet potato fries or one of their killer wraps? You'll thank me. On weekends, they even feature a popular brunch. And the end of the season "empty the bar" scramble tournament is tops. I can't speak more highly of the staff, the grounds, or the fun to be had at this course. *Golf Clap*

Walking rate is relatively inexpensive but the course has somw good hills to walk around. This yeae qe have golfed there twice. Very friendly service no matter who is in there. We always end up chatting with whoever is working. This year the course was in excellent shapw. Greens were nicely kept. Tee boxes were a little beat up but not bad. For a 2 man crew they keep it well kept. 9 hole course but we usually play blue tees first then white tees. Fun course!

This caused quite the stir as moose do not live here, but swim from the mainland. The Golf Club House is very inviting to hikers such as ourselves, and we enjoyed hearing moose stories as told by the friendly and moose loving staff. We had a simple lunch and some soda before heading out to the trails. A most wonderful day in a gorgeous setting. I hear people travel from all over the world to play here.

I went into the main area where one would pay to get a round of golf, but there was no one behind…read morethe desk waiting to help. So I figured I would wait a few minutes, but then 20 minutes went by and still no one to sign us in. An older guy walked in from the back of the building and looked like the owner or a worker, but didn't even say anything to me and my buddy in the slightest, but instead went to the bathroom and went back to wherever he came from. This was a terrible experience and am stunned by the carelessness of this establishment.
