it's pretty bad when you put in a rebuilt transmission in a 2002 F250 SD and it starts slipping after 21000 miles. What good is a 3 year 100,000 mile Warranty if it goes out that soon. Yes the warranty was 10 months past but shouldn't it last longer than 21000 miles. And jasper wouldn't do anything. also this was rebuild during the COVID pandemic. It's criminal what these people at Jasper automotive do to peopleI bought a used engine from Jasper, I was told it had less than 67,000 miles on it and they preformed a press test and a leak down test on it and was in great shape. What a got was a worn out piece of junk. The spark plugs had never been removed to do any kind of cylinder test. The engine had been left out in the weather, even had a rat nest under the intake manifold. Oxidation Damage, broken oil cooler, broken valve cover, oil pan leak. Engine lasted 45 minutes. Bent push rods, broken push rods, different size push rods and leaking rear main seal. Jasper inspected the engine and said (gummy material in the valve guides bent push rods). REALLY. I guess the different size push rods are not the issue. Jasper should do humanity a favor and stop existing. Horrible engines. Jasper has no idea what the word WARRANTY means. Very confused about how a business should operate. I paid 3k for a 4.3l It lasted 16k mile and blew a head gasket the day before I was to start a $6000 job that I had to cancel. Now they are telling me they wont renew the 3yr warranty I paid for on the first engine that failed. By all rights and logic they should renew the warranty on the replacement engine. Everything could be improved with their company 75 years of remanufacturing, transmissions engines, etc. with three year warranty or 100,000 miles what a joke.when you purchase a transmission with a three years hundred thousand mile warranty and at 44 months later, the transmission goes out with only 20,000 miles on it and they still won't stand behind it due to the warranty was eight months past the 36 months .20,000 miles is nothing on a transmission but when you looked at what was in the pan, this was a problem from the get-go. The transmission company that I had installed it over three years ago. This is just a daily driver for my wife around town nothing more. I called them to talk to them directly, my local transmission shop that installed it for me also tried to talk to them and showed them pictures at first. They said yeah that shouldn't be like that but then three days later they said they stand behind their 36 month warranty and there's nothing that can do about it. their article states that they build transmissions better than OEM's but that's a joke that OEM would definitely last longer than that. They should be out of business because they don't have very good reviews and there's a lot of people that are having issues with their product so if I was you stay away from Jasper's transmissions engines, etc., etc. etc. because it won't last and they will not back up their product. They should be out of business and not in business for 75 years. here's some pictures with only 20,000 miles on this transmission I have to buy a new transmission and have a new one installed again. also, there's pictures of their article how they write all the stuff that they make it better than everybody and it should last for thousands of miles if they can't back up their ad or stand behind their products, then they should be out of business not very happy. We are just regular working people trying to get by and I'm not asking for anything free. Should have read these reviews before spending 20 grand on a new motor. These guys suck. They don't stand behind their warranty or what they verbally say to you when selling to you. My first diesel ford reman motor I bought from them lasted only 3000 miles. No apologies, they gave me half the install labor so I still paid 3k to put it in, then thst second motor blew 15k later. Now it's out of warranty by like one freiking day and they don't give a shit. Meanwhile in my 2 year warranty period I only had the truck in my possession for half of that due to their bad motor. It takes months to get a new motor job done beteeen shipping it and hiring an installer. The dude who sent the second motor said "don't worry, we will help you if the new motor blows too" I wasn't happy a replacement motor doesn't start the warranty period over again. Nothing! The amount of help does not exist . Payed over 8k for new 5.7 v8 1st install November of 02 and as of today I've had 2engines plus the Original install . 3 total and I'm trying to figure out where the coolant from the reservoir is going . I'll fill to fill line and 2, 3 days its empty. So I'll end with this if you live in Evansville Indiana beware ,jasper is pitiful ,but the dealerships use carmax to send out recalls on vehicles mine came as a email. Saying my wiper motor has a recall and to take it to your dealer and have it replaced . My wipers worked not well but kept rain off, after the replacement I found out they didn't replace the wiper motor but a module and wanted to quote me a price on the wiper motor that originally had the recall .. Unless you know the people you deal with in this place be ready for a scam and get ready also to overpay for work done . And know this you will pay and expect to get a good clean job ,no that is not the case it will be done but take 3 times as long and you will go back for warranty work. My 95 Silverado is cherry and thought if I put a motor in it I'd have a nice older good looking old truck , now I fell like I need to get extra triple A insurance. They (jasper) ask what can be done to improve jasper . I honestly think go else where do not use jasper. After this mess with them find another company and check them out thoroughly. Purschsed a Jasper Transmission after about 4 weeks of use I totally lost reverse. I purchased a 3 year / 100,000 miles warranty. ( Parts and Labor ). I was told that Jaspaer only covers up to 90 dollars a hour on labor and doesn't cover fluids. So now after purchasing a 6500.00 transmission and paying to have it installed. I will now have to pay an additional 45.00 dollars a hour per hour of repair and an additional 190.00 worth of fluids,at my own expense. I rate this company a 0 out of 10. Paid almost $12k for a 6.4 diesel engine (with all the suggested upgrades), then at 1200 miles the only non ford rocker broke in two stranding me 500 miles from home. After spending 3 days paying for a hotel waiting for the local ford to diagnose, then flying home and driving back to tow the broken truck home to my mechanic that installed the engine, jasper would only pay to fix the rocker without any consideration for the hardship their engine put me and my wife through. They refused to extend the warranty and overall were very unpleasant to deal with. read more

BUYER BEWARE‼ Two of the last three motors have had significant issues. Takes weeks for core pick up and even longer to get paid for the warranty labor. One of the last three motors we got didn't even have the rocker arms torqued down. On an engine that was ran for 50 hours?! I think not.... That was super fun after getting the job done and don't forget you have to wait 8-12 weeks and cross your fingers the next guy decided to do via job when he was working on it. I own a very busy transmission shop in small town Arizona. We build our transmissions in house mostly. Sometimes we're overloaded with work and used to offer jasper as a option to our hurried customers. We had a few issues in the beginning but they ended up doing to right thing and honering their warranty. We'll that was up to this last one. We bought a diffential for customer that was pressed on time. We installed it and everything was fine. 2 weeks later and a few hundred miles..... the differential exploded! The pinion gear snapped in half! It flung the drive shaft from the truck. Broke the transmission in half, pretzel the drive shaft, broke the evaporator canister and nicked a rim. Jasper sent a representative out to investigate. He determined that there was oil in it, that the drive shaft was still bolted to the flange. And something weird and catastrophic had happened. We agreed. They denied the warranty, and offered to help us find used parts to help get our customer back on the road. They stated that their warranty does cocover collateral damage. So the trans. Drive shaft, evaporator canister etc etc came out of our pocket. We were a shop tracking spending 80k a year with them. Easy to say. No more. read more

This company left us stranded 800 miles from home. Our Jasper replacement engine exploded due to a catastrophic engine failure in a motor home, with less than 8,000 miles on it. All service had been done, and Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil was used. Jasper refused to replace the engine, and refused to even examine it to determine the cause of failure. I'm now forced to mortgage my home for a $16,000 engine replacement. Update: The engine installer that replaced the Jasper engine, stated that the failure was not MY fault, but that of Jasper, as the crankshaft had broken. read more

Took these guys 10 weeks to get me a motor I ordered, I understand it, pandemic and supply chain issues and all. But my main complaint I have is they wouldn't take my AMERICAN EXPRESS card.....I told them "that's downright UN-AMERICAN". You would think that somewhere along the way in the 10+ weeks I've been waiting that someone could've mentioned it so that I could be prepared to pay with another form of payment. I told her I would cut a company check...she quickly interjected.... Certified funds or credit card only..... So needless to say I had to jump through a few hoops to get the engine paid for...NOT COOL !! Because of that situation , I decided to leave a review, so I go online just now and WOW what a long list of bad reviews for this Company. I always go manufacturer direct (OEM) when I replace engines but due to the age of this vehicle (99 F250) the dealer doesn't have any motors. All in all in less than happy with the whole situation in general and hoping that I managed to at least get a good motor out of them (time will tell I guess). I understand it cost a little more to take an AMEX card as I am a business owner also, but it just represents corporate greed to not take a card because of the percentage points..... what a way to say.... "I want all of my money no matter how inconvenient it makes it for you". If I could give them a ZERO stars i would right now based on that alone.... I spent way too much time back and forth with him over email and ended up with no more information than I started with. We are a small shop that has purchased a motor from Jasper Engines and it was junk - had used oil in it. We install several motors a year and this is one of the last places we would ever put in our customer's vehicle. The motors are unreliable and customer service is not any better. Then to top it off, the salesman in the area started saying negative things about our shop that were absolutely not true. I purchased a transmission from them and it last 24,000 miles and quit with no notice , no slipping or anything just went out. they told me they would warranty the transmission cause of the date. you would think a company that stands behind there product would try to help a person that sells there product but no. Had to have the motor in my Chevy Equinox replaced. Was replaced with a motor from Jasper. Now, less than 6 months later, low and behold the "new" motor is bad. My mechanic is trying to work with them, but they keep insisting on different "test" being done. It's been in the shop for a week now and Jasper will not budge on getting a rental for me. We just disassembled a Jasper engine for a Fiero GT - V6. It had approximately 30k miles and had developed a bad knocking noise. We suspect a rod but we were surprised that it was the cam shaft. The shaft had horizontal travel of about 3/8" and causing the timing gear to bang against the block. The root case was one of the camshaft bearings misaligned with the oil passage hole. read more
