William kept in communication with us via text, and was right there when our train finally got in. Price was considerably less than the other two limo companies that I got quotes from. Also, originally we were going to get picked up from Chicago Union Station, and we changed it to Homewood two days before before we left. There was no charge, and the person on the phone at Americar shuttle changed the reservation quickly, courteously, and no change in price. They seem very flexible and customer oriented.

Our flight there was smooth and early!! Except as we waited for taxiing instructions, there was an ill passenger at the gate so we waited about 35 minutes until there was an available gate to go to. In the meantime we missed our connecting flight since we needed to claim our bags, go through customs and then recheck our bags. We politely asked united to find us any flight nearest to where we live. They were great and re rebooked us on an early flight the next day. I'm flying with a painful achy heel and assisted by my walker. I think this was the reason we were able to get discounted vouchers for a hotel! UNITED AIRLINES was very nice, helpful and considerate to us! The morning of our flight we headed to the airport, checked our carry-on, and was misinformed at one security check, then told to go through the wheelchair security check three only to be told to go back to security check one! We explained we were told not to go there but here, she nodded in disapproval but finally let us through. From that point on all was quick and smooth. Fun, fun, fun we got to play musical chairs between gates F 21 and 17 AND our flight was delayed again! We finally got our flight homebound!

A few start up airlines have operated out of GYY but unfortunately these airlines have failed in these difficult economic times. If a major airline starts service here, this airport can be very successful. This could relieve traffic at O'Hare and Midway. Many of those in northwest Indiana could benefit as well. The perpetual road construction projects and traffic on I-90 and I-94 out to O'Hare has cause many travelers to miss their flights. It's close proximity to the South Shore Railroad makes access to this airport very easy to get to. Once their master plan is complete, I would hope service from the major carriers start up. Boeing parks their corporate jets here at GYY.
