It's been awhile since I have had Acupuncture done. My left should have been in pain due to injury and tightness from working out. I thought I badly injured it. However, my neck and shoulders has been sore from how I sleep and just tightness. I even saw a chiropractor for the first time in many-many years. Even that didn't help at all. He is very calming and he seems really invested in getting rid of my pain. I will be going back. It was my first time, and I'm pregnant, so I freaked out about 10min in, but he came back In and took some needles out and reassured me everything is fine. Note: he leaves you in the room to take in the healing affects for approximately 20min, after he inserts the needles. Now that I know this I will be better prepared and way more relaxed. Ladies, leave your hair down or in a high bun so your able to relax on your back and head comfortably. If your pregnant he will offer you pillows for your legs and back...use them. I've had chronic lower back pain for about the past five years. Nearly debilitating, and constantly frustrating. Chiropractic and Physical Therapy would bring immediate releif, but the pain would come back shortly. At a friend's recommendation, I decided to look into Accupuncture, a process I was somewhat skeptical of. I made an appointment with Dr. Su and found immediate, lasting relief after only one treatment. The pain was completely gone the next morning. I've been seeing him weekly for about a month as of this writing, and have had no significant issues with my back in that time. Dr. Su is an extremely pleasant person to talk with, and I get the feeling he's actually listening to me when I'm describing my symptoms and problems. I woke up last week with neck pain that steadily got worse. A friend suggested acupuncture. I didn't want to do it, as I am very fearful of needles, but the pain got so bad, I decided to try it. I am so glad I did! Dr. Su made me feel very comfortable right away. The needles didn't even hurt! I actually fell asleep on the table while they were in! He also did a massage with suction cups that felt so good. I went yesterday, and today my neck pain is finally gone! I was having stabbing headaches for days, and when I saw my primary care doctor, she basically said to keep taking Motrin and follow some do's and don'ts indicated on a printout. So what to do? Motrin only masks the problem, and I don't want to be dependent on it. A coworker suggested that I try an acupuncturist, so I browsed on Yelp and found Jason. I made a mistake getting to his office an hour before the scheduled time, but he welcomed me and didn't tell me to come back later. After the new patient paperwork was done, he asked where the pain was, but I could only give an estimate of the location, because the headache lasted for a day on the first day but later had come and go. He had me lie face down on the exam table and put one needle at the estimated area of the headache, one needle on the neck, and one on both hands. The needles felt okay except for one hand, which felt a gradual cold sensation and pinch which I didn't like. He said it was to be expected, and once the treatment was over, the cold sensation and pinch went away. He said I should be fine. But I wasn't fine. On the way home, subtle headaches started. Did the treatment trigger the headache to come back? I called Jason again, and he asked me to go back, where he asked more questions, then said it might be tension headache, and said he was going to adjust and massage my neck (the left side was really knotted and stiff). Afterwards, I felt much better, being able to rotate my head more easily, and best of all, that headache was gone! The residual effect a day later was the soreness on the neck from the massage, like muscles that got stirred up after not being used for a while. I was thrilled, though. I had no idea my neck was that stiff, and I never knew a stiff neck could cause a stabbing headache. I was so glad he didn't give up on me like my primary care doc. I recommend Jason based on this experience. He's friendly and professional, and takes a genuine interest in making you feel better. He explains the procedures that he's about to do and would always check to make sure you're feeling okay. I must say, too, that his neck massage felt great, unlike some places that put way too much pressure to the point where it becomes really painful. I was given suggestions to prevent the symptoms from coming back, and home remedies in case they do, and the suggestions all make sense. I am incredibly happy to have found Dr. Su! I've been suffering from allergies since I moved to the Bay Area back in the day for college and this past year had been the worse. Lots of pressure/pain in my sinuses, headaches, and a constant runny nose. No fun at all! Strangely, I've studied Eastern philosophy and studied martial arts for years so I don't understand why I never chose to seek acupuncture earlier. When I first came to Dr. Su he carefully explained what would be involved in my treatment: acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine. I suggest that you do some homework on these procedures if you are a bit wary of the Eastern approach but I can attest that I was cured of my allergy symptoms within 4 visits to Dr. Su. Now I won't guarantee that you'll find the same results as quickly as I did but I'm sure that if you give Dr. Su a shot, he'll at least get you feeling better in no time. Dr. Su has a great bedside manner and I felt comfortable asking questions. I came here due to my orthopedic's advice. I had shoulder surgery after years of pain & headaches. I was supposed to do PT after this but this has been a challenge due to the same top muscle between my shoulder & neck area spasming. Jason has been a God's sent. He has helped loosing up that area to reduce my tension headaches and pain due to my PT exercises... I've only had one episode lasting one evening vs each episode lasting 3 days!!! He's also helping me with my hip impingement pain. He makes you feel heard...I still have pain but its come down and the muscle spasms are loosening up some...This is after 5 years of on/off pain so I know its still going to take time to untrain my muscles from tensing up due to pain and not allow for healing to take place but I know with Jason's help, we're headed in the right direction!
