The refinance loan paperwork was loaded with "fees". Under a category of "Services You can Shop For" were things like courier fees. These were actually firm, fixed costs. Not things you can shop for. Total cost of loan was over 4% of the value. They said the refinance costs would be rolled into the "refinance". They offered to lower the costs for a fee. Started to feel like a timeshare deal. I was on my way back home and looking for a bank that would allow me to deposit via drive up ATM. I was a little over halfway home and after stopping for fuel noticed this branch across the street. Access to this branch is from the side street and not the main road running through this area. What could have been a quick stop doesn't really turn into that because of the traffic signal at the intersection. Finally in the lot I pulled up to the ATM, insert card, few taps of a button and I was ready to insert check. The machine took a moment to process the transaction, but it went through. I'm supposed to be closing tomorrow, after the mortgage company and my realtor decided to move up the closing a few days because I was all set to close. For the last 3 weeks, the people at Integrity Home Mortgage have been telling me that my loan is all set, that I'm good for closing. Oh, and by the way, in order to complete your loan, we just need this little bit of information. If it was once or twice, fine. Miscommunication and lost paperwork happens. These people straight up lie. I feel like half of my loan paperwork has been done after they've told me that I've done all the paperwork required. After every post-"you're set to close" task they've given me, I've asked if there was anything else. They either say that I'm all done the paperwork, or they drop the email and start a new thread asking me to do 'this one little thing to complete the loan'. So here I am, 24 hours from closing trying to jump through the latest hoop that they informed me about just this morning, while at work. If I close tomorrow, it'll be an absolute miracle.
