Sales staff were very polite and patient, unlike myself who just wasnt into looking at things that I'll probably never buy. I had a VERY good experience here. I'm gay and I wanted to propose to my boyfriend of just over a year. I'm 39 years old, and this is my first real long-term relationship. I went to Jared and was waited on by Justin. I explained what I was trying to do and he was AWESOME. We looked at a bunch of rings in my price range. I was pretty unsure about what to get, but Justin assured me that it's fairly common after a proposal for the couple to return and swap out the ring for something else. I asked if that would be a problem and he said no, just keep the receipt. After a lot of hemming and hawing, I finally picked something out and he put it in a ring box and then put that in a gift box and tied it perfectly with a little bow. I took it home and there it sat for a couple of months before I got up the nerve to pop the question. Finally, a couple of days before Christmas, I did the deed. I surprised my boyfriend and got down on one knee and produced the ring (hint: having Train's song "Marry Me" in the background when you do it is a great idea and I highly recommend it). After what seemed like an eternity (5 whole seconds!) he eventually said yes. Perhaps not surprisingly, my rather "particular" boyfriend did in fact want to swap the ring out. I called Jared to see if Justin was working that day and he was, so we headed back to Jared about 20 minutes after the proposal and picked something out considerably more expensive (and we got two, one for him and one for me). However, they gave me FULL RETURN PRICE on the ring I had bought earlier and so the price wasn't that bad afterall. I am very thankful to Justin and am wearing my ring as I type this review. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that we must have been asked if we wanted coffee or water or cocoa about 5 times. They were very nice about it and very sweet, but really? They must have some awesome bathrooms there or something because they just KEPT asking! Anyway... great service, great price and great rings. I have always shopped at Jared's and had all my repairs done throughout the country. I went into the one in Mission Valley to have my ring repaired. i was greeted by Jenny who was fantastic and provided me with great customer service. I told Jenny I needed a tip put on the secure my diamond and asked what the cost was. She ask her manager a female for some advice and I observed her being very condescending towards Jenny. Then I was told I needed three services That had three different prices. The tip replaced, tightening all diamonds and cleaning. I questioned the cleaning charge which was approx $50 as I always got my rings free of charge. Jenny spoke to her manager again and I noticed her being condescending to her again. The manager approached me and told me in a not so nice tone that when they repaired a ring the had to tighten all stones which I wanted checked anyway and the had to clean all ring that came in for repair. I explained that I had never had to pay to have my ring cleaned. I did not like her tone, unprofessional approach with her team and her demeanor towards me I said I would take my repair somewhere else and she change her tone With me and said I could just have the repair and diamond tightening done. I left my repair and spoke with the male manager about what I experience. He was wonderful! The female manager clearly makes the team nervous with the way she treats them in front of guests. In this day and age treat your team with respect especially when Jenny provided me with great customer service. I'm not sure I will visit that store again. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! I've had several issues with my wedding ring purchased in 2014 and experience such bad service here I only go to the one off Carmel mountain despite it being way out of the way. Particularly a female manager here is extremely abrasive, rude and berates her co workers. We came one morning and she was screaming at co workers for something not done the night before (this was on the sales floor). Same person has been randomly rude to me over the phone and in person. Every time we've gotten our rings cleaned here they're finished incorrectly, repairs have taken wayyyy longer than what we were told, calling in to check on orders gotten extreme attitude for even asking. Hands down the worst customer service I've experience in any retail environment. I wish we hadn't gotten our wedding rings here. read more

Horrible customer service. I have spent a lot of money at Jared's all over Southern California and this place is hands down the worst experience. I was interested in getting a custom and one of the "Diamontologist" laughed at me because I asked a second time about pricing and promotions. Jared wasn't the first place I started looking for an engagement ring, but it was the last place I needed to go. I looked all over town following friends recommendations but nobody could do the custom ring my girlfriend wanted, at a price I could afford. I walked into Jared and talked to Monica and Justin and they showed me some great rings, so I had my girlfriend come in to look at them and give them a yea or nay. She didn't like either of them so with their help we designed one for her right on the spot. And they did it under my budget which was pretty low to begin with. I was so excited that we were getting the ring we wanted for less then I was planning on spending. So that's not the only reason they get a 5 star review. We needed a really low profile ring but what they though was low and what we thought was low didn't match up the first time they built it. We told them it needed to be lower and they made it lower. When we got it back it was still not low enough so they took it back and made it lower again. This time it was perfect! And they did the 3 changes in only 10 days so I was able to propose exactly when I wanted to. And of the course the price never changed. They busted their butt to make our ring exactly as we asked, for exactly what they said they would, and exactly when they said they could. You can't ask for more then that. Their selection of rose gold settings was great, better than any other place we went. We used a band from one ring, a setting from another and a diamond from a third ring to make our perfect ring. They made it happen and we couldn't be happier! Don't do what I did, start at Jared for your engagement ring and you won't regret it. read more

This place has great service! When shopping for engagement rings the first place I went was Robbins Bros. There was a hostess desk when I first walked in and the woman asked if I had an appointment. I told her no, that I was just looking around. She told me that they prefer to have someone show me around the store. When I told her I'd be fine on my own and would just like to looked around, she told me that they "don't work that way" and asked if I would like to schedule an appointment...so I walked out. Decided to go to Jared since it was right down the street and I'm so happy I did. Upon walking in I was greeted by 3 different people. I was asked if I needed any help and I told them I was just looking. Surprisingly, I was left alone! What a great way to put me at ease. When I was ready to try some on, I was immediately assisted. My only complaint was that when we told the guy how much we were willing to spend he still showed us stones that were out of that price range. I don't believe that salesmen works there any more. You can get a Jared credit card that you are able to pay the bill in the store, online or over the phone. They have a great extended warranty as well. I liked the service and selection at Jared so much I've been back for earrings, watch, Pandora bracelet, Pandora charms and Pandora ring. Every time I am in Mission Valley I stop by Jared to get my jewelry cleaned. The kids love it too because there is a play place for them inside the store. read more

Being in retail management for 21 years I can tell you that I pay attenetion to how a business handles itself. The team at Jared, Mission Valley need to know they are top notch. I'm sure I spend far less than some of thier regular customers but I am always treated like big deal. I've even heard Richard tell another employee that I was a "very special" customer and they needed to go the extra mile for something I was looking for. Teresa and Richard have always taken care of me like we had known each other for years. They do not discount for the sake of discounting and for me, that's fine. I pay for good treatment and integrity and that's what I get. I tell them what I need and they provide the options at a fair price. I can trust them and that's worth every penny I've spent with them. The customer service is excellent. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and offered bottled water, coffee, or cappuccino! We were invited to browse around as we waited to be helped. As we browsed we noticed a cute little play area for kids on the side. Someone came over to help us within minutes. We were shopping for wedding bands. We told her what she was looking for and she walked us around showing us everything that came close. In December 2012, I purchased quite a bit of Pandora jewelry for my Mother for Christmas. During a recent visit with my family, I found out that my Mom's bracelet snapped when she was trying on a dress. This happened 11 months after my purchase. I brought the bracelet into the store and the store manager replaced it right there on the spot. No waiting, no hassle, no BS. Just replaced my Mom's bracelet with a smile! I was so impressed that I went ahead and purchased another charm for her. This Jared location couldn't have offered me better service. I went in and spoke to an associate - I wanted a nice white gold necklace for my husband. Bought the chain and ordered a nice cross out of their catalog. The associate said he'd call the following day to give me an estimate on the time. Never called. I called the following day and was told he didn't work there anymore! As of the day I had come in. They then told me the cross wasn't ordered, that it was no longer carried. I spoke with a woman who said she'd be my new POC and would look up some designs for me. Another day went by and she hadn't contacted me, so I called again. She texted over a few pics. I picked one I really liked. A few days later I called again just to check on the time frame (this was a birthday gift and I was now running out of time). She said that, oh, I needed to give a 10% down payment. I said "you mean you STILL haven't ordered it?" "No." I would have happily paid the 10% had anyone bothered to tell me. So I said "I think I'm going to have to go someplace else." She just said "ok." Didn't even try to apologize or get me to stay. Went to a family run place and couldn't be happier. They get 2 stars instead of 1 because my husband loves the chain. read more

I was already unhappy when the ring my fiancé wanted was considerably more than the engagement ring that I bought her in another state and the engagement ring has a better Stone. I was even more unhappy when I had to pay 10% of the total price of the Ring to get it appraised separately. I was even more angry when the appraiser still hadn't sent us the appraisal two weeks after it was done. This Jared location has great employees and very knowledgeable sales staff but I was very unhappy with the prices and the appraisal company that they work with. Update When we finally got the appraisal for the wedding bands from Jared's appraiser, ths appraisal for the brides band was barely more than we paid for it - a stark contrast to the appraisal on the engagement ring, which was more than $1k more than what I paid for it. read more

Harvey is the best!!!!!! Let me back up... I bought an engagement ring 5 years ago. Great service, great education, and quality product. In October of 2013, I got my wife an upgrade on her ring. They let me use original purchase price towards the new ring on return. FULL PURCHASE PRICE! I originally bought in store, 1.25 carat. My wife liked it but it was not perfect. Took it back for a 2 carat and my wife thought it was too big. Took it back and special ordered a higher quality, 1.7 carat and from Jared online and she loved it. All the way through Juliette was fantastic. Super helpful and very patient with us. In October 2013, my wife got me a watch winder. In January it stopped working just 15 days beyond the return date. I did not do the warranty paperwork (my fault), the price of the unit went up $80 since I bought it, AND I used points on the purchase from the ring to lower the purchase price. Without hesitation, Harvey said, "don't worry I will take care of it." He allowed me to return my broken unit for a brand new unit at no additional charge.
