New orthotics were far more flexible and deformable than previous orthotics (have worn custom orthotics for 45 years and they have always been rigid plasti-cast with non-deformable arch). Went back after 2 months asking if orthotics could be re-made or adjusted as my pain was greater if anything. Was told nothing could be done, "arch overlapping the orthotic". Referred to a prosthetist, but Dr. Meyer not any too sanguine about possibility of success, "maybe this guy can make some sort of brace for you. Might need surgery to ever be pain-free". When I asked about surgery (what it involved, cost, recovery time...) I was scolded that I needed to try other options first. Understand that surgery, or its possibility, was nowhere on my radar screen when I walked in the door. I would not recommend my worst enemy come here.

We are still dealing with insurance. Things were coded wrong and not covered. Cynthias office does not care. My husband has called several times and every time they say they are going to call back and not once have they returned our called. They only called once to ask for payment. I told them I was worried about my job with covid and that we were still fighting with insurance and she said that was fine, she would make a note and call me back. Well she didn't call me back or make a note. That day was when she turned us over to collections. We got the letter the following week. Not only did this office miss a hairline fracture in my toe! They have been unprofessional and rude and uncaring. They left me hanging with a lot of questions. They haven't cared in the slightest about me or my foot. No call backs, no follow up, nothing. I will make sure everyone hears my story and I will steer away as many people as I can. Cynthia came highly recommended by a friend but she did not prove to be helpful or knowledgeable at all where foot injuries are concerned. Weeks of questions and waiting and an X-ray and a MRI and blood work and still no answers as to why my foot was swelling and I hadn't been able to walk on it for 2 weeks. They put me in a boot and sent me home, promising they would have a specialist look at my MRI and get back to me. Crickets. I haven't heard from them in 2 weeks. I even called and left a message. The boot they gave me helped for the first couple of days and then just exacerbated the issue. I gave up on them and went to a chiropractor. 2 visits in 48 hrs and he had answers for me. Made a brace for my toe. Did blood work and an X-ray all in his office (didn't send me all over to figure it out for myself). I have 3-6 weeks to heal but he gave me answers in 48 hrs and Cynthia and her office gave me nothing but a bunch of bills in 4 weeks. I will not recommend to anyone or go back.

A gentleman came in with the boot and asked me to sign a paper to bill my ins. I was a late appt. so when I got home my mom and sister, told me I could get that boot online for way cheaper than what they would charge me. So I called the next morning, never used it, they said I could not bring it back because I signed a paper stating so, but they would only take what the insurance was willing to take, they were billing my insurance $334.00 (for a 25.00 boot). They never mentioned I could not bring it back (pretty important don't you think). So sure, enough I get the bill $216.00 for the boot, I called them, told them what the girl in the office told me, and they said they would knock it down 150.00. Then 2 weeks later a guy calls and tells me I can bring it back, this was now a month and 1/2 in, I wore it because I figured I would be paying for it. He said oh you wore I will have to talk to the doctor and recieved no call back. Moral of this story is found a new Doctor who is great, let this be a warning there are people with deceptive practices out there BE CAREFUL !!!!!!!

Do not go to this doctor. I was overcharged and misdiagnosed. They charged me for two injections,…read moreat $500 a piece, which I did NOT receive. I was understanding, as this was probably an error. When I asked for this to be removed from my bill, it was denied. Their office claimed I had signed permission to get an injection and that proves that it was done. Probably some sneaky way of making money. BUT I did not receive these injections. They will charge $100 per foot to put three pieces of tape on it for strapping. I wish I was aware of this, as I could have done this myself. For x-rays, they will bill your insurance 4 times for each "type" of x-ray. I now have a $700 bill for being misdiagnosed and I feel completely mistreated. I went elsewhere and obtained a second opinion. I'm finally pain free and satisfied with the care I was given elsewhere.

I thought I'd give her another chance today, as I had an ingrown nail issue. I didn't want to wait for months for my regular doctor. The waiting room in Valpo has uncomfortable chairs with arms, which doesn't adequately accommodate my body. The receptionist refused my request for a chair with no arms, even though there were several in sight. Once in the room, Dr Stern berated me several times, from the minute she walked into the room, starting when she asked me how I clip my toenails, being a bigger woman and I'm disabled (on oxygen). I informed her that I'm still able to perform this task. No one should EVER comment on a person's weight, skinny, heavy, or in-between. The only comfort was the very nice nurse's assistant. Needless to say, I will never go back to the Valpo office (now on Cumberland) and I will NEVER go see Dr Stern again. If I could give her 0 stars I would!
