Deceptive Billing, Unnecessary Blood Tests, and Public Humiliation…read more I scheduled my appointment through the clinic's website, which clearly stated the $300 fee included both the medical exam and completion of Form I-693. When I arrived, the receptionist confirmed this. Even the doctor told me--without me even asking--that the $300 covered both the appointment and the documentation. He said a blood test might be an additional charge and necessary to complete my I-693 which I agreed. I had already provided proof of all required vaccinations, and blood test that I got in another clinic and my insurance paid for it, so there was no medical reason to run any tests. Still, they mentioned one specific blood test, but then performed a different one that I did not need. When I returned to receive my results, I was suddenly told I had to pay another $300 to complete the documentation(form I-693) completely contradicting what both the website and staff had previously confirmed. When I questioned it, the receptionist began yelling at me in front of the entire waiting room and refused to finalize my paperwork unless I paid again. It was deeply unprofessional and humiliating. After leaving, I called the clinic to clarify. They told me the website was "wrong," and that the true cost was $300 for the exam and another $300 for the form (I-693) something never disclosed at any point. I requested a detailed, itemized bill showing the charges for both the appointment and filling the form but they refused. All they offered was a basic credit card receipt. When I finally received a billing summary, through email they cc two more people who could see all my bill and personal information, however they didn't disclose the charges and instead just sent me a total of due without specific information, so i had to request a disclosed bill and when I got it,they were charging me for hepatitis b, varicella and MMR titer and i had the vaccines for all these (I gave them my vaccine record including vaccines for these diseases so not blood test was necessary) This clinic is dishonest, lacks transparency, and operates unethically. They performed unnecessary medical procedures, changed prices after the fact, refused to provide proper billing, and publicly humiliated me. I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs

Dr. Madris is the rare doctor that blends a professional, businesslike demeanor with humor and a quick wit, which puts me at ease. I tend to be a bit squeamish about getting blood drawn and the other invasive aspects of normal physical exams, but Dr. Madris is always considerate of my feelings, and makes the process prompt and painless. He's also given me the best medical advice I've ever received - "Exercise!" - which improved my outlook on myself and on life in general. Dr. Madris is never cold or preachy; he treats his patients in a respectful, matter-of-fact way, and actually makes me look forward to my annual physical. Dr. Madris inspires my confidence in him as a doctor and - as a result - in myself as well. I recommend him to everyone.

As with any sole doctor practice the appointments can potentially back up. However, I have yet to go to a health practitioner's office and not expect to wait. The staff is very friendly and knows what is going on so they can expedite your visit. Dr. Madris may seem stoic at first but once you go back to him again you kind of get a feel for his personality. He knows what is needed at the time of meeting with you. I get it that when the test results come back he reviews them off-line, outside your visit. He does do that due diligence. If there are any changes to what he had previously recommended he'll correct it right there and then. For example, I had a sports injury (deep scrape) that was not getting better - the infected area was oozing pus after a week. So when I was getting my anti-biotic prescription filled he called me personally that I probably needed a stronger anti-biotic since the injury was a sports team related scrape. He wasn't going to take any chances on my proper healing. Well after he called me he called the pharmacy I was getting it filled. New "script" and the infection cleared up pretty quickly afterward. The only hiccup I had with the office was a summer vacation they had and I did not realize my prescription was at its last refill. I had to wait until the office "came back" from vacation. Needless to say I was worried about my ailment but the "lag" did not affect my next test results. (In his office's defense I was alerted in time and there was a back up doctor on call too.) I write this review as I prepare for arthroscopic surgery and I had to have a pre-op screening with him. Though I made my decision already he did his duty to ask questions that made not question my surgery decision but to also further research the pros/cons of the surgery. It's my first time for invasive surgery so I need to be better prepared even though I had thought I was already. He was the objective voice to ask if I am really... really... sure that I should have that surgery. In summary, I like Dr. Madris in the over three years I've been his patient and we've developed a pretty good doctor-patient relationship.
