    1. Steak and Chicken Combination
    Jeff F.

This is our go to fast food Hibachi in the area. We drive from Simpsonville (approx 15 min) to come here for some delicious food. I love the steak and chicken hibachi combination and substitute extra carrots for mushrooms. They also have delicious pork dumplings to pair with the meal.

Supposed "fried rice". Literally white rice drizzled in soy sauce alone. Didn't even bother to cover all the rice.

The sushi I have had here was also good (especially for a drive thru)-fresh to order and inexpensive.

I came here specifically to try the chicken sandwich in order to get some further depth to my…read morecomparative context on the plethora of the crowded chicken sandwich space. Here is what I have noticed, no matter the restaurant, the fresher the sandwich, the better. Also, to keep it simple, I get whatever each restaurant presents as their standard - for example, CFA standard is not their deluxe, it is just bun, chicken, pickles. At WB, it is potato bun, chicken, lettuce, tomato, and, Whatasauce. I'll say cleanlinesss and service are both very good here. I didn't think they could ever have gotten all the old KFC grease off of that floor during renovations, but they did. It's very neat lines, simple color scheme, and crisp clean. The sandwich. You are going to immediately have a mental image in your head when I say the contrast between the glossed up picture of the food compared to the reality of the food in appearance. Flat, almost squished a bit. One leaf of limper lettuce, thin sliced tomato, and Whatasauce. Whatasauce was the first thing that hit my flavor profile. It tasted like ketchup on a hot dog. Which is a no-no anyway. But it was a ketchup forward flavor with savory notes and too sweet. Right behind that I got the thin fried chicken filet, which was more breading than chicken around the edges of the filet. Plus, it was slightly overdone and slightly tough. The good news is that I had a rewards coupon, unbeknownst to me until time of order, and it was free with the purchase of a medium drink and fries, somewhere between $5-$6. The fries are thinner style pencil fries. Medium is more than enough. Crispy and they were good. I love the Whataburger giant cup and they make very good iced tea - good enough to be a deciding factor for where to go for lunch. But this sandwich left so much on the table in execution. I imagine from their test kitchen version to the version served - overdone, over breaded, over sauced, and flat, there would be disappointment from the test kitchen guys. WB matches CFA in cleanliness and service. CFA sandwiches have always been very "chicken forward", thicker chicken portion, retains juiciness, simple (pickles only, add your own sauce) and frankly, easier to eat while traveling/driving. Sure, you should pay attention to the road, but just observe alll the drive through business at any chicken sandwich venue and you KNOW they're out there eating and driving. There is a good marketing gimmick- easiest fast food to eat and drive. Hint, it doesn't come with lots of Whatasauce, whatever it may be.

It's actually pretty clean here. I went late and there was a good bit of staff. They have a lot of…read morecustomizations on their app and it actually works pretty well. The food is fine for what it is. You definitely feel better than spending a lot more at Five Guys or a bit less at another joint. But I'd still rather just make my own burger. They'll bring your order to your table here.

This is a drive through or pick up location only. No indoor seating area is available. They have…read moretwo lanes for the drive through but there were no cars waiting and we were able to pull right up, probably because we were a late (2PM) lunch. But the order taker was in a very rushed hurry. The conversations was something like this: Me- I would like the Tray with/ Her - (interrupting) what would you like with that? Me- The Big Double with/ Her- (interrupting) do you want cheese on the burger. Me- Yes, and lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard and... Her- (interrupting) what sides do you want? I'm thinking like Sheesh, let me just order the tray! Me - And a large UNSWEET tea please. Her- Did you say sweet or unsweet? Me- UNSWEET. A large UNSWEETENED tea. Her - Drive around. And wouldn't you know it, I got a large SWEET tea. Ha! I am not sure what was the big rush. Thankfully, I checked before leaving the window and they gave me an unsweetened tea. The order receipt said "sweet tea," if you can believe it. Anyway, the burger was very good, char grilled flavor. The fries have to be double fried to get the outside crunch and the fluffy center. Usually I get half fries and a corn dog and they usually give a generous portion of fries. But not this time. I left this experience thinking to myself, "what was all that about?" My wife just said, "that was weird." Because it was weird.
