They never seems to have time to take care of their customers be it just a flat tire, some help understanding and setting the infotainment center , or a driver's seatbelt that won't latch without a struggle and then won't come unlatched. I've had to snake in and under the belt. Quite a chore. I understand being busy but maybe they need to hire more service technicians so their customers feel like they're valued and can get some help. I was recently in a car wreck that totaled my truck and was looking for a replacement. I chose to put my trust in Janzen GMC and boy was I mistaken. A week after buying a used 2018 GMC Denali with 67,000 miles, the check engine light came on and the engine started to have issues. I contacted Jerome Funk and he told me that there wasn't any known issues with the truck. So I scheduled maintenance at a dealer closer to me. At the three week mark of having the truck the engine completely quit the night before going into the shop. I will now have to replace the motor and will put me $8000 over on the truck. I contacted the Jerome and the finance manager and they said they couldn't help. Here's the important part, the finance manager specifically told me that there was not a warranty for this vehicle, my brother was sitting right next to me and heard the same thing. He ushered me through signing without mentioning a warranty. So when I contacted them they told me "well since you didn't get a warranty we won't help you" This is unacceptable business practice where they are taking advantage of a veteran who is dealing with injuries from a wreck and is now having to deal with a Lemon that Janzen GMC sold me. My wife and I tried to purchase a vehicle from Lee Hosier at Janzen GMC. I saw a vehicle on their lot and called about it around 1pm in the afternoon and made arrangements with Lee to come by after work and check it out. We went by about 5:15 and took a look and took it for a test drive. By the time they made me a trade offer it was after 6pm and my wife had already left to take home some groceries that she had in her car, so I told Lee I didn't want to keep him after hours and instructed him to call me first thing in the morning to finalize the deal. Their trade offer was slightly lower than I was hoping for, so I told him I would like to have a little more for the trade before I left, but I would take the trade offer home to my wife and felt confident we would make the deal the next morning. I even asked Lee if he had my phone number because I hadn't given it to him over the phone when I initially called about the vehicle! He assured me he had my number from his caller ID and that he would call me first thing the next morning. I never received a phone call the next morning and finally called Lee about 2pm the following day to see if we could finalize the deal only to find out they sold the vehicle that morning at approximately 9:30am to another person. I was excited to do business locally and really liked Lee initially at the dealership when I met him, but this experience has totally soured me from Janzen GMC. A little common courtesy would have been appreciated. Extremely frustrated, I called the sales manager was told that I didn't have a hold on the vehicle because I had not started a financing application on it (after hours), accepted their initial trade offer (after hours without my wife present to discuss), or paid a deposit (which was never asked of me). Contrary to Lee's story, the sales manager told me that they had actually sold the vehicle the night before after I left the dealership, which is strange, because I left after 6pm and they were already closing up. Had I known I needed to place a deposit to hold it overnight into the following business day to continue the transaction and not keep their staff there after hours, I certainly would have done so! I felt like I was being courteous to them by not asking them to stay late and go through the ropes of financing late in the evening, but they couldn't give me that common courtesy back by giving me the promised phone call and giving me the opportunity to buy the vehicle from them. I understand it's first come first serve, but I felt like we had a verbal agreement and understanding to continue our business the following morning as to not keep them after hours. Janzen's word means nothing and this shows me that their greed is most important to them, which I did not expect from a small town local dealership. Just spent 3 hrs of my Saturday driving to this dealership in Timbuktu to look at a previous model Vette that is 4-5 yrs old. Not the Z06, so it has a fair amount of horsepower, but not crazy. No more than a Camaro SS or Mustang 5.0. We looked at the car, which didn't look like it had been that well maintained. There was sand up inside the engine compartment all over and it looked like a mouse had been living in there, rusty brake caliper. It had supposedly been at the dealer for a month. Hello! Who doesn't detail the engine of a corvette on the showroom floor?! Or at least pressure wash it off. The tires were almost out of tread. The paint looked uneven, (they told me it was all original) and there was even a spot where it was so thin I could see black primer through the top coat. Concerned about its condition, I asked to drive it, and was told "You don't have enough insurance to cover this". For the record I am 39, not 18, we rolled up in a Lexus newer than the Vette, I do have enough insurance to cover it, as I own both another sports car and a truck worth as much as the Vette. I was informed it was their company policy. So take note, if you want to buy a car worth more than 37k, it may be too good for you in their eyes. I went to two other dealerships and test drove nicer cars than this today. The one dealership even tossed me the keys and didn't come with on the test drive. We almost bought the other car until I discovered they had shown me the wrong car fax. We were literally walking into finance, so we are in buy mode for the right car, but yeah, anyone who is willing to buy a car you won't let them drive is a moron. This is not a Ferrari factory, and I bet even they let people test drive their cars before buying. Good luck finding that sucker Janzen. I won't come back. read more
