I used to consider Dr. Jane one of the most wonderful people I ever met, someone I considered a friend as well as a good dr. Then we had a falling-out that's never been patched up. This review is about that falling-out.
She changed to a new location in an unfamiliar area, and I made an appt. Except on my way to the appt. I made a side trip that took longer than expected, so by the time I got to the intersection nearest the new location, I was five min. late.
Alright, five min. is no big deal, right? Except I missed the turn into the new bldg. Nothing to do but go down to the end of a very long block and sit through a very long light. Ten min. late.
Make a u-turn but overshoot the correct driveway AGAIN. Down to the other end of a very long block, wait through another very long light, 15 min. late!
U-turn again, finally make the correct turn into the correct driveway, find a parking space, find the new office--20 min. late!
I burst through the door, ready with all kinds of apologies and prepared to beg forgiveness.
She was standing in the reception area. Before I could open my mouth, she said, "There isn't time to give you a treatment. Maybe we could just talk."
I didn't go to the effort to keep a med. appt. and go through 20 min. of bad luck to, "Just talk!"
All I could say, without saying something I'd regret, was, "I came for a TREATMENT, Dr.!" and out the door I went.
I don't know why she couldn't just go ahead with some kind of brief treatment or exam. Yeah, I threw her schedule off, but surely she'd handled such situations before. She just didn't want to accomodate me, for whatever reason.
I never did get to tell my side, so I'm telling it here. Maybe I can go back--FOR A TREATMENT--someday, and patch things up. read more
