    Breakfast sandwich
    Chelsea D.

Cute little walk-up bakery offering baked goods with local flavor (thimbleberry!), breakfast sandwiches, and coffee. The guy was super friendly and seemed happy to be there. I would too... seems like a dream location to work! PRO TIP: eat the donut upside down so the icing hits your tongue. Game. Changer. It's delicious! Breakfast sandwich was pretty standard, nothing to write home about... but maybe it was just overshadowed by the most delicious cake donut I've ever had

Great little coffee shop right on the water with amazing views. They had a GF/DF muffin!!

was SUCH a cute tiny store! I loved how it was easy to order your food especially before going on the boat to Isle Royale. The view was also such a plus! Service was so good.

The best staff! 10/10. Food was amazing. We are here every morning Thimbleberry shortbread to die for, the Thimbleberry donuts so good, the chive bacon and cheese scones so good, muffins good, raspberry turnover delicious, s'mores cookies delicious. 1000/10 actually.

Stopped here on a misty foggy Sunday morning for a quick breakfast fix. The coffee (medium roast) was good. We also had the berry muffin and the turnover. The turnover was filled with cream cheese and berry sauce and tasted so good! The owner was also really kind and was very patient in explaining all the bakery items. The view should be good on a sunny day (though we were not lucky enough to see it. :)

One of the few places to pick up a quick breakfast (takeout window, harbor front) before an mtb ride in Copper Harbor. Had the breakfast biscuit sandwich, muffin, turnover, cheddar-bacon-chive scone -- the scone was the standout.

Amazing little bakery. Had breakfast here twice, both days a chive, bacon, and cheddar scone with a maple glazed bacon donut. Both amazing. Coffee is also excellent, iced and regular. Will definitely be stopping here when we come through again.

This was an amazing bakery, my wife had the Finnish Pancake, muffins, cookies and scones (we were in Copper Harbor for a number of days and in the hotel next to the bakery). Only bake goods were available, no smoked fish was available. We were there starting the Tuesday after Labor Day during COVID. There was a line each morning and all of the customers and staff wore masks and were practicing safe distancing. Ordering took place at a "take out window". I cannot say enough about the quality of the food and how great the staff was every time we stopped in. To top it all off, it is located on the water with a brilliant view.

Thimbleberry donuts? Thimbleberry donuts! The first time I've ever heard of thimbleberry was in Copper Harbor. These are probably the best donuts I have ever eaten. They do run out, so make sure you are there early. The other baked goods are also really good, too. I've never got past the baked goods to the fish. Jamsen's is a seasonal business, which they close in the winter. They also have picnic tables on the docks, so you can eat your baked good and look out to Copper Harbor, which is a very beautiful view. I look forward to my next trip to Copper Harbor for more thimbleberry donuts.

This is a cool little shop on the ferry dock that serves coffee and home made pastries. They also have delicious smoked fish that you can purchase by the lb. and fresh caught lake trout that you take home and cook also by the lb. Only open from 7 to 3 it is well worth a visit when you are going over to Isle Royal or coming back. Or anytime if you are looking for a great cup of coffee and a pastry.

The extra thimbleberries on top of this donut were ones I foraged myself! Great Keewenaw Coffee Works in my cup.

The Jampot was on my UP bucket list of places to visit and that came true today!…read more The Jampot is a bakery run by a community of Byzantine Catholic monks, known as the Society of Saint John. They are famous for their homemade jams, jellies, baked goods, and fruitcakes, which are sold under the name "Poorrock Abbey". The Jampot started in 1986 as a way for the monks to support their monastery, Holy Transfiguration Skete. Fun fact... the individuals that started the monastery had a black Great Dane. After a short wait, we were able to purchase a handful of goodies. Thimbleberry jelly is out of stock until late July but lots of other options were available. For jellies, I picked up a jar of rosehips jelly and sugarless wild blueberry jelly. For snacks, we purchased a carrot cake muffin, chocolate chip muffin, cinnamon sourdough bread, and a cream cheese muffin which was warm out of the oven. We purchased a couple of drinks too - cold pressed blueberry juice and cold brew illy coffee. The cream cheese muffin was my favorite! It was a combination of pound cake and cream cheese with hints of pineapple. How can you go wrong? Plus it was warm! The best! I really enjoyed the carrot cake too. It was full of nuts, raisins, and carrots. Very hearty, just the way I like carrot cake. There is parking, picnic tables, and a dog run on site. No bathrooms. Closed restrooms are 1.6 miles away. The monks were so friendly! Great place to stop in you're in the Cooper Harbor area. Just check the hours to make sure they are open.

Small bakery with a selection of honey and homemade jams, fruitcakes, about a dozen different kinds of baked goods and coffee. Monks from the Ukrainian monastery across the street were running the counter. The German Chocolate caramel filled cake we got was dense and delicious.

This review is for the deli-sandwich portion…read more One of the best sandwiches I've had in years. I live in Chicago area and simply cannot get a good sandwich. Either the bread, the condiments, the temperature (what's with heating the sandwiches) something is always wrong. Originally I am from northern New Jersey so I am used to NYC style delis, which consistently speaking, are the best in the country. That's how sandwiches should be. Anyway, ole girl and I were doing a road trip, this place had good reviews. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and made with LOVE! I would absolutely go back, and absolutely highest recco! I certainly did not expect to find morels or lion's mane mushrooms! I got two sandwiches and a pickle from the deli. The pickle had a good snap and wasn't overly salted or spiced. It was refreshing on the trail. The sandwiches I picked out were the Gratiot River and the Brockway Mountain. I liked the Gratiot River more as the avocado gave the sandwich good moisture, while the Brockway Mountain was rather dry. They were well packaged for portability. The bulk foods section is extensive, and they have a good variety of snacks and frozen food that punches above its weight given the smaller size of the store. If you're in town, definitely stop by to pick up something new!
