DH told me later he was unsure about a seafood place in a strip mall (it's next to a branch of RBC), but this means there's lots of free and safe parking. Midweek lunch meant no reservation was necessary, even during high tourist season. Just inside the door is a list of the locations of the hundred or so purveyors of their oysters: It's impressive! We opted for small plates and a few side dishes. Everything was so well prepared! My oysters were plump, briny, and attractively plated on ice with lemon slices. A small bucket of jarred sauces rounded out the setting: Hot Jamaican, spicy mustard, Wostershire, and mignonette. On the platter was freshly grated horseradish, which had a five second delay before the heat kicked in! My husband had the lobster roll, which was crammed full of large pieces of lobster! It was the best we've ever had! We'll be back soon! Husb

My original plan was to try out their new restaurant Fat Rabbit for lunch since it was open for lunch at 11 AM but my timing got thrown off as I was at Inniskillin for longer than anticipated. I parked directly across from the restaurant which had paid street parking. Paid street parking was plenty and they had machines on both sides of the street. I entered and was greeted and had the option of several 2-diner tables or the bar. I was given the drinks, raw bar and food menu and decided on: Saucison Sec & Cornichon, Scallop Nuggets, Dumplings and I remember seeing their special on IG for a Fried Shrimp Burger that had a limited quantity available beginning at 4 PM. SAUCISSON SEC & CORNICHON - made with their Fat Rabbit's dry cured sausage came with their briney pickled cucumbers which was a nice starter. SCALLOP NUGGETS - had a breaded and fried scallon-bacon nugget topped with a halved raw scallop and topped with kewpie mayo and a concentrated tare - this dish really reminded me of an okonomiyaki because of the scallop and bacon combo with the tare and Kewpie mayo or a takoyaki. I really enjoyed this dish. DUMPLINGS - were filled with ratatouille and topped with a piece of seared foie gras and it the dumplings were placed atop of their green butter. What really caught my eye was the seared foie gras, the dumplings were okay I couldn't really distinguish the ratatouille filling in the dumplings, but the thin wrapper did hold it together. My gripe with this was the green butter sauce was a bit overly acidic/tangy. FRIED SHRIMP SANDWICH - this wasn't shared with me by my server but I remember seeing an Instagram post regarding this limited quantity sandwich - I believe previously they had a fried soft shell crab sandwich I saw? Anyways, I saw the blackboard that listed this and then during my first 3 starter courses I inquired about if it was still available from my server and it was so I ordered it (apparently they only made 5 that day). This came on a sesame seeded bun with homemade tartar sauce, shredded lettuce and a breaded shrimp patty that had minced and large chunks of shrimp like a shrimp katsu. This was reminiscent of an Ebi Filet-O from McDonalds Japan. This was a wonderfully executed dish soft bun, creamy and tangy tartar sauce, with a hot and crispy shrimp patty. Wonderful. The day after I came and while I was at Pearson airport waiting for my flight to Montreal, I saw a post that listed Les Incompetents as a Top 30 contender for best new restaurants in Canada. They already had Canada's 100 Best so what an accolade. Will definitely return again and see what their innovation brings to the table.
