The little cabin is situated on the owner's property, and is a bit off the main road in Seward. Might be hard to find when it is dark, but we were there in June, when there are 19 hours of daylight. It is tiny, though, so this is for travelers who plan to be out and about seeing the sites. But, while you are in the cabin, it is comfy. This isn't really a B&B, but they do have a coffee bar and mini-fridge for heating things up. We didn't see the llamas. No tv, and I don't think there was a phone...and cell phone signal was relegated to one specific spot near the front door--definitely not in the city anymore! That's the charm of staying in a log cabin in Alaska.

I recently stayed at Sue's during my first Alaskan vacation, which was a fantastic trip all-around,…read moreincluding Sue's. Booking online was easy and we called ahead to see if we could check in a little later than the scheduled time, and Sue was accommodating. The Google Map directions are a little misleading; go past where the directions "end" and go to the red balloon pin. Otherwise, pretty easy to get to and not far from Seward or Exit Glacier! We arrived after dark, and our yurt was labeled with a sign near the door with our name on it. My first stay in a yurt - this one was incredibly homey! It had pretty much all the necessities of home and was more spacious than I expected. Think rustic "glam"ping. It's a bit pricey if you're on a budget and not needing all the comforts, but is a good value for what you get. If you have a larger group, price becomes more and more economical. I think it would be nice place for a family. There is a list of instructions, but was pretty straightforward. I caution ladies that the plumbing does not accept feminine hygiene products - there is a sign, but it's a bit high and I almost missed it. Slept great and enjoyed the amenities. We didn't spend much time outside of nighttime at the yurt, but the surroundings were nice. The only foible is that the description notes, "complimentary loaf of Sue's Homemade Specialty Bread," which I assumed to be sourdough. We instead received some very tasty blueberry muffins during our stay, and later learned "sourdough" is a term for a longtime Alaskan. The more you know!

I couldn't have asked for more. The only suggestion I would make if anything would be to add screens to all windows so they could all be opened. We were there when it was hot and there were only screens on a couple of windows. Important with Alaska mosquitos! Still 5 stars though, we had fans! Cindy provides everything but food. So generous! Even soap, shampoo, paper towels, tp, coffee, etc. The cabin is about a half mile from kenai lake boat ramp. Also next to several stores and a nice restaurant (princess lodge). Will def go back! Highly recommended!

From the location (convenient, beautiful and woodsy) to the ease of checking in and out to the cabin itself - we loved it all! Our place could have easily slept 4 more people, but we had it to ourselves! The bed was very comfortable, the towels were incredibly soft and it was perfectly warm! We especially appreciate the owners as my boyfriend left his very favorite (and expensive) jacket behind and they promptly called him and shipped it to him. We really appreciated that! I would absolutely recommend these adorable cabins to anyone traveling to Seward!!!

It's amazing how much function you can cram into a 14x16 ft space! They slept 4 adults comfortably and had all the modern comforts we needed while giving that feeling of camping in the woods. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

This is Seward, Alaska!…read more Although it was mostly rainy for the 3 nights and 4 days I was here visiting back in the month of June, I did not let that deter me from getting out, seeing and doing the sights. Seward is home to amazing Kenai Fjords National Park. Here are 3 activities/tours I highly suggest partaking in while here in Seward.... 1. Explore the Exit Glacier area. Exit Glacier is a real accessible landmark to discover. It's located off Exit 3 of Seward Highway. After making the turn...drive 8 miles and you'll arrive at Exit Glacier. Now...you can walk to "The Toe" of Exit Glacier which I recommend and also, I believe it's imperative to hike the rugged, though strenuous 8-mile roundtrip path called the Harding Icefield Trail. You'll be afforded wonderful views of Exit Glacier and the snowcapped mountains of Kenai Fjords from high above! 2. Do an all-day boat cruise out on the waters of Kenai Fjords. I did an 8.5-hour excursion with Major Marine Tours. Along the journey I witnessed tons of sea life. I also got an up-close perspective of incredible Northwestern Fjord Glacier and Cataract Cove, with epic waterfalls sliding off cliff faced walls. These two spots along my boat tour were the star attractions and some of the most memorable stops along my entire Alaskan vacation! 3. Simply explore the terrific harbor coast town of Seward. Here Seward is located right on the banks and waters of Kenai Fjords. Just walking around and appreciating the overall setting with massive mountains surrounding my every sight was so beautiful to see. My only problem was once again...grrr, the unfortunate rain! :( Also...Seward is obviously a wonderful seafood destination. Don't forget to try some of the cozy/charming restaurants that are emblematic of the type of cuisine you can expect from a waterfront place such as this. Also, you can purchase souvenirs in the downtown area and capture memorable photos along the pedestrian walkway section. In total, Seward, Alaska and Kenai Fjords National Park are necessary Must-Do's when visiting glorious Alaska!

Worth a stop, although more for the wildlife boat tours than the town. The sea life center is…read morepretty great, although a lot of that for me comes from the fact that my friend and I did the puffin encounter, which was awesome--we got to feed the seabirds for probably a good half hour, right in the enclosure. Anyway, the town itself doesn't have much, including food, and I wouldn't spend more than 2 days unless you p,an to hike--I hear there are some great hikes of varying lengths, including e marathon hike and an intertidal hike. The food situation seemed pretty dismal to me. You won't starve, but I wouldn't go back for the grub, and if I did go back I think I'd seriously consider bringing a cooler of pb&j for at least some meals. Anyway, this is the launching point for wildlife tours of the kenai fjords and its glaciers, as well as a 20-minute or so drive to Exit Glacier, to which you can hike up (about 1.5 miles from the parking lot). The hotels seemed exorbitantly priced to me, and. Wished I'd researched camping, as there's a nice site right by the water about 3 blocks off of main street. Main street is 4th ave. and the whole town is less than 2 miles long, I'd say, with bustling sections at either end, downtown and the harbor.

He set up the day for Ling Cod first and we immediately landed legal fish. He moved to a third spot and we cranked in the rock fish as fast as we could throw in the line. Joe was a great guide, he knew where the fish were. He knew what to use and how to use it.
