    Meat plank...yum!
    Katie S.

Love love love this place! Had dinner here with my coworkers and the atmosphere, albeit slightly loud, was perfect. It's set up like an actual kitchen and the tables and chairs feel like something from your home. But, the food and the presentation was perfect. And the staff efficient and friendly. While waiting for all of my coworkers to arrive, I was shown to the bar that is actually downstairs, giving it a more intimate feel as oppose to the jolly restaurant. So, this would be a good place to hang out if you're with a smaller group or would like to have a more intimate setting, while still enjoying their delicious food. All in all, a very pleasant experience that I would like to try again sometime.

Brownie with vanilla ice cream and caramelised popcorn

If you were to flick through Jamie's 15 minutes meal - aside from wanting to cook up everything - you'd notice that it all looks so good on the pages. It's pretty and bright and a joy to pour over on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The glossy recipes, as delightful as they look, are relatively simple to make, in true Jamie-style. In the same way, Jamie's has a beautiful, flashy interior, whilst managing to be unassuming and welcoming, largely down to the friendly staff. The turnover is fast; people coming, people eating, people going. And repeat. - A constant, steady stream of patrons, and all the while, the staff are working the floor, constantly keeping an eye on the tables. Despite the fast pace of the restaurant, I always felt attended to and didn't feel the least bit rushed. I particularly liked the fact that we had the same waiter for the whole evening (he was lovely!) and that he made it so easy for us to catch his attention. Not once did we feel forgotten about; a regular occurrence in busy restaurants come peak dining hour. - No extended wait for the bill, for food, for service, for anything. And always, with a smile. Only Jamie himself taking my order could have made for better service. The food? Well, it was lovely! I had the Vegetable Rotolo al Forno. (Seasonal pumpkin, squash & spinach rolled in fresh pasta sheets & baked with tomatoes, ricotta & basil, topped with Parmesan & herby breadcrumbs.) It was delicious and surprisingly light, leaving me with more than enough room for two sides. - Polenta chips and kale slaw. The slaw was crunchy and creamy but lacking in something. As Briony said, it does feel a tad light on the kale. I fell head over heels for the chips; the texture, the rosemary and parmeson topping, so many noms. - They were seasoned to perfection, making for the perfect winter comfort food. I could have eaten a plateful of those alone and I savoured every crumb. Dessert came in the form of the 'Epic Brownie' with vanilla ice cream and caramelised popcorn. The popcorn was a nice idea but didn't really add anything to the dish as it was just a few pieces on top of the ice cream. Otherwise, the brownie was a simple, traditional rendition, just how brownie should be. It was moist with just the perfect sweetness without being overpowering or sickly. Was it worthy of the 'epic' title? The speed with which we devoured it seemed to say so. I had plans later that evening after a long day's work so I opted for a post-dinner latte. It was a little cool and also tasted bitter. Enjoyable still, but not the best. Also, our table was very, very close to the next table. You can hear conversations, and you will struggle to squeeze past which was a tad awkward. But these are little, fairly insignificant details. We were most impressed by the Gold card. Since it was our first visit we got a cushy £10 off the bill and we were also treated to the November gold treat of a glass of house wine. With every visit flashing that card, you also get a small complimentary taster before your meal. So, the gold card is a nice little bonus! I did like Jamie's. With seven Jamie books on my kitchen shelf, there was a lot at stake. But I wasn't disappointed, not in the least.

I think that up until this weekend, I might have been the only person left in Glasgow who hasn't been here at least once since it opened. I'm not sure how it's managed to escape me so long, but I finally got the chance to come in here, and I'm really glad that I did. After a couple of wines in the afternoon, a friend and I decided we *really* ought to get some food and settled on Jamie's Italian. To be honest, I hadn't expected to get a seat what with it being the Commonwealth just now, but we were seated straight away with the caveat that they'd need the table back in an hour. No problemo. We ordered the meat platter to start; a huge wooden plate filled with hams and salami, plus some mozzarella and olives to round it off. My main was the meatball reginette while my friend had the sausage pappardelle. Although I never tasted hers, it looked amazing and my meatballs were absolutely devine! We were a bit over-ambitious and also ordered a side order of posh chips (chips with truffle oil and parmesan - also amazing) and so when we left, I thoroughly needed rolling out of the place. So why not 5 stars? For me, it was a bit noisy (we were seated downstairs) and it's not the cheapest of places to eat. That said, the pasta was obviously fresh and the food and drink were lovely. I'll definitely be coming back as soon as the bank balance allows it.

Garlic bread and a delicious strawberry daiquiri!

This is my second time to visit Jamie's! It's a wonderful restaurant and I know that whatever I order will be fresh and of the highest quality. I'm a big fan of Jamie's videos and cookbooks! Tonight we sat near the kitchen/bar area. The red chairs were more comfortable than the benches near the door. The bench seating was really uncomfortable and cramped last time we dined here. We started off with Ultimate Garlic Bread, which was tasty, but only the top half of the loaf had butter and garlic - it didn't seep down to the lower half of the bread. Probably healthier that way, eh!?! My Strawberry Daiquiri was delicious - made with fresh strawberry purée and you could tell the difference! It was really hard to pick a main. I was craving vegetables, but I ended up ordering the Turkey Milanese. Delicious and light! The turkey fillet was lightly filled with prosciutto and cheese and topped with a fried egg and rocket. It was very filling and my husband helped me finish it off! When I was looking up the menu online a few nights ago, I discovered Jamie's Gold Club and downloaded the app. We had a £10 off £30 coupon that was loaded to the app, but when I showed the waiter after our dinner it didn't show up properly. The waiter talked to his manager and honored the coupon after I gave him a few details (name & postcode). I was very pleased with the the customer service, even though the app was finicky.

    Crispy squid

5 of us decided to go here for a pre booze munch on a Saturday night (right after payday). We had made a reservation and were seated right away in a booth tucked away in the corner. The restaurant was busy and with a good buzz. We all chose starters and everyone got something different. The crispy squid was absolutely excellent, in fact a self professed fussy eater tried it and absolutely loved it! The artisan bread selection was also great as well as the crab avocado bruschetta. Despite the restaurant being busy, everything came out in good time. The mains were also really excellent. I had prawn linguine and the prawns were beautifully cooked. Everyone really enjoyed their meal although an order of the steak frites was overcooked and a little dry. We had caiprinha's which were lovely and the final price of the meal was pretty reasonable for what we had. Wouldn't hesitate to go back here!

    Raviolis
    Esther F.

I knew that this restaurant was super famous because of The chef. The restaurant inside is really nice with two floors, one for meals and the other one for drinks and tapas menu. The staff was really nice and they gave us a beeper to let us know when table was ready. We order garlic bread for share and then i ordered the pumpkin raviolis, and my friends salad and meatballs. The quality was good, but my dish was expansive based on the quantity. Meatballs were really spicy and in the menu this was not mentioned. So for me you pay more because of the name and the place (in George Square) rather than and amazing quality and huge plates. It's a good place for Glasgow visitors but for the ones living here there are better italians' restaurants.

    The Bruschetta
    Katie R.

Yum, yum, yum! My friend and I came here for girl's night and it was so freaking good. We started with the bruschetta and it was full of sprouts and goat cheese spreads and what not. So good! Then I got the cannelloni three ways and I don't even know what was in each one of the delicious stuffed pastas but they were very very good. I would so go again, I wanted to try everything on the menu. The service was good and the restaurant was nicely decorated not to much going on. The kid's menu comes in the old 3d view finders.

    François B.

We had a fab time in the jamie oliver italian restaurant with the family! We had veg and meat planch to share as a stater and nice spinach and mozzarella cannelloni. To finish with a nice tutti frutti meringue lemon pie. It was terrific! Nice italian background waiter. Cheers

    Joy T.

Nice space, cavernous with good music. Drink menu is diverse and pasta dishes come in two sizes. I had tagliatelle with meatballs, the pasta was perfectly al dente and meatballs tender - the half order is perfect for a light eater. I would recommend for a change of pace from the pubs!

    Qype User (pinkys…)

We came here last night to celebrate my dad's 60th and even though they don't take bookings for parties of less than 8, when we explained it was a really special occasion and would mean a lot, they bent the rules so we didn't have to queue : ) We stuffed ourselves sille on divine olives, crispy mushroom frittis, squid, polenta chips and meat and veg planks (rustically (?) propped up on tins of passata and tomatoes), and then tucked into rabbit something or other and various other pastas and steaks, all of which were gorgeous. Very 'Jamie' in style, with the 'pukka' specials boards and the copious amounts of merchandise, but worth the monies fo' sho'.

    Olives on ice
    Jon M.

Stuck in Glasgow for lunch, I did a little Yelp search and found that a friend of mine, having visited this restaurant, would have like to have Jamie's babies. While I can't claim the same desire, nor for that matter am I appropriately equipped, I almost understand the sentiment. It's a lovely place - and very picturesque too with hams and vegetables and yummy breads on display. I had the "olives on ice" as a starter - yummy olives, a nice tapenade and a few slices of crispy bread stuff. Tasty. A house special pasta followed that - well presented with some nice herb flavours together with a great tomato base. It didn't overwhelm me though. Desert was a Amalfi lemon curd and biscuit construction - and if anything's worth mating over, it's this. Awesome. All in all it was a nice dining experience. I can't say it knocked my socks off - maybe I expected a little more, a little something more Italian even - but it was pleasant and I'd dine here again. Oh - the restaurant packed out very soon after opening it's doors for lunch - you may want to book.

All was delicious and flavorful. The salad was beautiful - everything you would want in a salad. I would have liked more cheese on my dish, but it was good. The pasta was also al dente - something I'm not accustomed to, but it was good and freshly made. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and servers were attentive. It was a noisy place - very busy - but with a good vibe. We were seated near the kitchen so we could watch the chefs. One gentleman ran his ungloved hand through his hair, put the hat back on and then proceeded to grab a ball of fresh noodles and drop them in the water. The gloved hand wasn't used. I don't know what to think, but not very sanitary, but then nothing the boiling water wouldn't take care of either. ;) The cook staff were constantly busy and were not standing around. So maybe it was ill advised that this was the exact time I chose to drag my other half to Sarti but I think I got away with it. The staff didn't seem to mind at all that we'd showed up so late and without a reservation. We were welcomed, seated and our drinks orders were taken (I was gently guided away from an inferior bottle of wine to a nicer one for the same price, which is always a nice touch). I ordered a mixed wild mushroom pizza while my partner went for the spaghetti bolognese and everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared. I love a good mushroom pizza and this is one of the better ones I've tried in Glasgow. We briefly considered dessert but, being the last people in the restaurant this time, decided it would be better to save it for a time when we were more organised. We paid the bill and were invited to a small glass of limoncello with the staff before we left. My partner normally hates the stuff (although he likes lemons) but actually enjoyed this one, so there's another minor victory. I've visited Sarti before but with a large group and found everything to be great on that occasion too but it was quite a long time ago. It's good to know that they're still doing everything right. We'll be back soon and hopefully at a more reasonable time.

We booked for an early Friday evening dinner. The decor of Verona is pretty nice - large booth around the windows, lots of dark timber features and generally a classy, slick vibe. It's really nice to sit in one of the booths and look out at the world rushing by - I'd highly recommend requesting one when you book if you're going at a busy time. We ordered from the pre-theatre menu - 2 courses for £11.95. I got the breaded mozzarella and mushrooms, followed by the pollo Verona (chicken with mushroom, onion, pepper in a cream sauce with rice or vegetables), as well as a side of mozzarella garlic bread. The food arrived pretty quickly. My starter had two mozzarella sticks and two mushrooms with a small salad and pot of sauce. It was pleasant enough but overall a little plain and unexciting. The main hit the same level of "ok" - the portion was a little on the small side, and while there was nothing wrong with the dish, it just wasn't remarkable in any way. While I don't eat out expecting to be eating omgamazing food at every single meal, I do like my food to be a little interesting. This reminded me of a basic meal I'd make at home when I didn't have the inclination to make something more interesting. I do have to say that the service was really good, and saved this review from slipping down to two stars. The waitresses were really friendly and chatty, and we never had to wait long for our drinks or bill. The bill came to £40-something with a couple of soft drinks and a glass of wine. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'd rush back to Verona after this mediocre experience.

Gusto is part of the Living Ventures group (Grill on the Corner, conveniently over the road from Gusto) and serves Italian food. The restaurant is beautiful, quite similar to Grill on the Corner actually with be classy dark timber, gold finishing a and lots of mood lighting. The restaurant is split into sections so you won't feel like you're in a huge space even though it's a generous-sized restaurant. There's a bar right in the middle which is nicely decorated with stained glass and a tasty selection of booze. Of course, it's Monday lunchtime so I'm not drinking. The menu has great non-alcoholic options like coolers for £4. I opted for a mint and strawberry cooler which was absolutely lush: the barman here clearly knows what he's doing. I'm going to have to return for cocktails! Onto the food. I went for baked gnocchi with a side of spinach. The gnocchi had nduja through it - quite a lot actually as it was pretty spicy! Not unbearable though and overall this was a really nice dish, good portion size and perfectly baked. The spinach wasn't quite as good and was quite watery, and some of the leaves needed their stems trimmed. Overall I enjoyed it here a lot. The service is warm and friendly, and Holly who was looking after the area I was seated in was great and really knew her stuff. I do have to say the front of house wasn't quite as good and seemed a little confused and unsure, but the place has just opened so that's no big deal. All up, I was really impressed with my lunch and I'll be back soon.
