Uh oh. Yet another market for me to spend my money on ridiculous things and spend my day having chats about the cold, old toys, and the price of carpet.
Not sure how long Jamestown Market has been there for, but it certainly seems like it may be years. It's housed inside a big cold warehouse, and much like Merchants Market, contains anything you can imagine, from books to old TVs, hot curlers from the 50s, a sweet shop, a child's segway (who knew they existed), potentially out of date toiletries, retro furniture, and cuddly toys guaranteed to give your child asthma. It's brilliant.
It's nowhere near the scale of Merchants Market, but that makes it a lot more manageable. If you can escape without too many chats (though I dunno why you'd want to), you could be in and out in half an hour.
One thing's for sure - you never know what you'll find here. I walked away with one of the old Macs - the pretty space-aged looking ones - all in perfect working condition, with a relatively recent OS, and 60g hard drive, all for the princely sum of ten euro. Bargain! read more
