Just be aware folks, that from now on, if you drive in to this well out of town, in the middle of…read morenowhere place, you are paying to park to shop and dine. My previous stars were when parking was free and I could barely find a working toilet in the place. Their timing couldn't be worse with swingeing price increases and with Christmas just on the horizon. Put bluntly they are just greedy bastards. They say and are being disingenuous that their charges are aimed at encouraging shoppers to use public transport - no they are just chisellers. Who is going to do the weekly shopping to hop on a bus with bags of potatoes, carrots and a few litres of milk. Their centre operations manager who undoubtedly will have a free parking space has also confirmed that they will charge disabled car drivers. These good folks usually need more time to drive, park, manoeuvre and generally get around. I guess many of them would also avoid public transport to go shopping and I suspect the centre will lose footfall here. What's worst of all they are charging staff to park - apparently not a full daily charge but enough to screw over and rifle the pockets of the working poor. What the hell is wrong with us - taking from the poor to give to the rich. It's government policy in the UK now. They've given me a darn good reason never to return and for that I am grateful. I imagine I won't be alone.

this review is on the underground 'luas park and ride' part of the shopping centre…read more I use the free park and ride in the shopping centre everyday so as I can get the luas to work and do some shopping in citywest on the way back. Up until today I have though this to b a fantastic service. about a month ago I wanted to use the luas to go to town and have a few drinks but didn't want to walk through citywest in the dark alone. so for safety I wanted drive to the shopping centre, park my car in the underground carpark 'park and ride' section, use the luas and leave my car there overnight. I was willing to pay an overnight fee if it meant me and my car would be safe so I went to the citywest shopping centre website to check if this was allowed and what the fee is but there was no mention of a fee or not being allowed to leave your car overnight. there was also no link to a separate website for any addition security or carpark management company. I checked the signs in the carpark and the shopping centre and although it said there was clamping in operation in the outdoor carpark there was no mention of this for the underground. there was also no mention of a time limitation for the free park and ride. there was a sign that said there was a call out fee for after it closed at 10pm but still no mention of not being allowed to leave your car overnight or that it would be clamped if you do. so I left it overnight and there was no problem when I came to get it the next morning. after checking the signs again a few weeks later I did it again and still no problem. the third time I did it I returned to my car the next morning and there was a photocopied/handwritten note from security management saying I was not to leave it overnight, that my reg number recorded and if I left it overnight again it would be clamped. So to sum up, the free park and ride is a fantastic idea that willI mean less cars on the roads, more people using the Luas and more people shopping in citywest BUT I think they really need to clarify exactly what the rules of the underground carpark 'park and ride' area are and update the signage and website to reflect it. And maybe some official leaflets or letters instead of hand written notes.

The shopping centre is bright spacious and well maintained by the staff. It has a number of fast food type restaurants, an Eddie's which is great for a cheeky Friday lunch with the office and is anchored by Dunnes Stores which I find handy as I work in the area and can get a decent lunch and can pick up something for dinner if I want. It also has a medical centre attached to it. Its built to suit the excellent Citywest Business Campus and compared to any other shops/centres in other business parks around Dublin it is second to none.

But do not be fooled, there are…read moresome cool shops upstair too (hair dressers, barber, school supply centre, clinic, book store, opticians, interior/exterior designer, restaurant, music shop, gift shop, travel agency, chapel, swiss deli). There's no lift or moving stairs, so for mums with buggies or wheelchair bound people this shopping centre isn't very friendly. The ground floor is ok, you'll find a few clothes shops there, shoe shop, butchers, bank(s), news agent, sports shop, shoe repair/key smith, jewellery, hardware/gardening shop, big grocery store. And a public toilet, for which you'll pay 20¢... Parking space is available but it is a disaster, especially during the festive seasons when this place runs out of parking space quickly. If you're not driving a car, you can use buses No 15, 15B, 65(B) and 49. All of their stops are in a convenient walking distance from the shopping centre. All and all, it's a good place for common day-to-day shopping. Not so good for those unable to walk up the stairs or with buggies. Prices vary depending on the shop you visit. Car park is free for four hours, monitored by a hired car park management company.
