There was no noticeable sour cream and barely any cheese, which made both dishes feel dry and incomplete. They're also supposed to come with tomatoes and onions, but there was only the occasional crunch of onion or a small piece of tomato--nothing you could actually taste or notice overall. The meat was solid, but without the toppings to balance it out, the flavor just didn't come together. A little more attention to the basics would make a big difference.

I was going to start off by detailing what was bad about our food and after typing a book of a…read moredetailed review I decided to shorten my review. We got a "your meat choice" burrito, chili Colorado plate, quesadilla, several different types of tacos and chips and salsa. Let me say that the only thing we liked was the tortilla chips. The salsa was sickeningly sweet. The meats in every case we're dry, overcooked and greasy. You can't even begin to call the beef bits Carne Asada except in the sense it had meat DNA and proteins in it. The Chili Colorado sauce was so weird and yet had the same "carne asada". The rice was bland and hard. The beans were a goopy tasteless mess. Their hot sauce doesn't come close to masking any of these flavors. We got take out and tried to add fresh vegetables and other sauces to everything we ordered but it never helped. I was initially going to comment that I didn't know what part of Mexico this type of food is attempting to represent but after a night to think about this before leaving a review I'm not sure what Planet this is trying to represent. With all of the opinions in our group and the positive reviews others have left I'm baffled where it comes from. Either way I would never, Never recommend this place to anyone. The most disappointing Mexican style food we've all collectively had. Anywhere. Plus the most expensive when you consider we ended up throwing it away and going out to a restaurant. I can admit that some days are bad days but when the entire menu is a total miss I gotta wonder.

JUST WOW........Would have given 10 stars if the system allowed it!!!…read more We were staying in the area and came here because it had the highest rated score for sushi on Yelp and let me tell you....it did NOT disappoint!!! Coming from California to visit in the area, we didn't have very high hopes for this place considering it's 12 hours to the nearest coast! Seafood in the middle of Idaho come on!! Not to mention the prices were so cheap I couldn't believe it! Heck there is Gas station sushi in Cali that cost more.... When we first walked in we were greeted by the nicest staff! VERY attentive and constantly keeping our glasses full, with the sushi continually coming to the table throughout the visit! There was an older gentleman who, I think was the owner, that visited our table maybe 4 times to ask if everything was ok and do whatever he could to make our visit memorable! Probably the BEST wait staff of any place we ate at in Idaho Falls!!! The building itself was nicely done matching any sushi place in California. Pretty good size and there were a lot of people eating here, but the service was so good they made their jobs look easy! Now onto the food...There really isn't anything I can say to convince you to visit except that EVERYTHING was AMAZING. My group had about 10 different rolls as well as appetizer choices and nigiri and I must say, ALL of it was better than the places back home!!! This place would be dangerous if we lived here, because I believe we would spend a good portion of my check here EVERY week!!! Rolls that stood out...DO NOT eat here without having a Snow Drop roll, holy cow that might be the best roll I've ever had at any sushi bar!!! The Dancing Eel roll was tremendous as well! The sauce that came on that sucker would be worth paying for enough to take a bath in, if you happen to be rich enough to afford it! Even the cheaper rolls that many places use as filler rolls were superbly elevated to a higher level! Also don't miss the deep fried rice topped with spicy tuna appetizer, it was phenomenal!!! We had two of those!!! Anyway in the end, both the staff and the food was AMAZING!! Who would have thought sushi in Idaho?!?! You have raised the bar above on ANY Cali similar restaurant. DO NOT MISS this place!!!! We will definitely be eating here again before we leave!! We will come back here again and again as you should toooooo!! I will post pictures after our next visit later in the week....

Quite frankly, Sal's Pupuseria may be my favorite lunch spot in Idaho Falls…read more I love pupusas and would frequent different spots in Southern California and Vegas. Sal's Pupuseria is as close as it gets in Idaho Falls. The Loroco Y Queso pupusa is my favorite, no matter where I am. It's basically herbs & cheese but so delicious. The curtido (cabbage) at Sal's is a great addition and well seasoned. The carne asada taco was good. It was flavorful and bigger than your average street taco. However, it was pretty greasy. Use several napkins and then wash your hands right after type of greasy...but that's where the flavors at! Lol. Prices are slightly higher than the other places I'm accustomed to. However, my options in Idaho Falls for Salvadorian comfort food are limited so I'll take what I can get. Everything is cooked when you order it so be prepared to wait for a bit or call ahead. There were probably 3-4 people ahead of me during lunch hour and I waited close to 30 minutes for my food. The gentleman who works the counter isn't overly friendly but I understand that not everyone's personality is the same as mine. He was nice enough that I didn't feel uncomfortable. Overall, Sal's Pupuseria is a great little spot to grab a bite.

The tables outside of this truck have shade and are big enough to accommodate a party of 12, but they are comically high. Sitting on the bench, my food was about eye level, and my kids had to stand. I'd recommend grabbing it and going somewhere else to eat.

The Quessabirria looked amazing but only tasted of grease which dripped freely all over everything. The carne asada burrito was ok. The meat didn't really stand out and it only tasted of beans, lettuce and sour cream. The two things that were good were the two pork taco options. The pork carnitas had the most amazing texture I've ever been lucky to try. It was moist and crunchy from the flat top. It is definitely worth giving this meat choice a try in anything they have. The true star though was the Adobada tacos. They were amazing. There was tons of meat with so much flavor. These were the best Adobada I've ever had anywhere. I think the highs were very high but the lows were just as low. They have decent salsas but if you can't take a good bit of heat you won't be able to handle even the weakest one. Definitely worth checking out.

First off, it's locally owned, spotless, and the kind of clean where you look around and think, "Wow... my kitchen could never." Second, the food? Unreal. We ordered the bulgogi and the galbi, and honestly I'm still thinking about them like an ex I can't get over. The meat was perfectly marinated, tender, and cooked like someone in the kitchen has sworn a lifelong oath to flavor. The seasoning? Perfect. The texture? Perfect. The portion? Generous enough that I considered hiding some from my husband. And don't get me started on the kimchi. Tangy, spicy, crunchy, delicious. The banchan all tasted fresh and legit, not like the sad little afterthoughts you get at some places. Everything arrived hot, gorgeous, and smelling so good that we didn't even pretend to wait before digging in. Zero regrets. Bottom line: Porky Korean is a gem in Idaho Falls. Go support them, go eat everything, and go back again the next day. You'll thank me later.
