When I was contemplating a breast augmentation fifteen years ago and had consults with two other very prominent Orlando plastic surgeons, their response to my request was "Why are you here about your breasts, you should have your nose done". I had such a degree of comfort with Dr. Johnston and his staff that I left and scheduled surgery within a month's time. This was after wrestling with the idea for years. Further, when I asked him about getting a TCA peel to improve my facial wrinkles and texture, he responded by saying "I am not so convinced that you even need a peel. Let's get you on a good skin care regimen first and then we will revisit the request." This doctor does not sell you anything you do not need and the time, care and consideration that he and his staff affords his patients is amazing. I know several people that have had cosmetic procedures with other doctors and only saw their surgeon at the consult and five minutes before surgery. Some practices have a P.A. open and close the procedure. This is NOT the case with Dr. Johnston. He is with you from start to finish and thereafter. He spends a great deal of time with his patients and his clients travel from all over the United States just to be under his care. Lastly, I remember when Dr. Johnston shared a story with me about a terrible accident that occurred several years ago. He was on call at the hospital and a patient arrived in the ER facially disfigured, requiring extensive reconstructive and plastic surgery. Everyone was freaking out but he walked in and very calmly assured the attending physicians that this was as simple as a puzzle and that he needed to just match one side of the face to the other. The results were a drastic curved nose and no reduction. I had to wait another 15 years, due to finances, to get a revision for the first surgery. I was mainly concerned in getting my nose straightened more than anything else. The second surgery improved the curvature thou it was not straight. Now 20 years later I was on my third rhinoplasty surgery. I came across Primera Surgery through the internet. I had my consultation with Dr. Gross and was impressed. He was straight forward. No sales pitch. He directly delivered what he was and was not capable of providing. He took into consideration my face symmetry while consulting what he recommended. On top of his directness of wanted outcome of the surgery, he did emphasize that there is no guarantee on the results. I feel this is not due to lack of confidence or skill, just no one is perfect. He was also concerned about my mental and physical health for prior and post surgery. Physical reason only natural and mental if the results were not what I was expecting. Now to the end. About three months after surgery I am more than satisfied with the work he performed. After a lifetime of hating my nose I am no longer self conscious. I have the nose that I want and it is fitting for my facial structure/look, not looking fake but natural. I must give a heads up, the worst part for me is the aftercare. About 3 months after surgery you must massage the nose twice a day and nightly put on a "homemade cast". It just becomes tedious. The main reason I chose Primera Surgery is their honesty and only deal with the face. Another deciding factor was that multiple of his staff members had him perform their surgery and he had performed a good amount of revisions. His 30 plus years, of face only plastic surgery, show through his work and results. I would and have recommended family and friends to his office. I cannot praise him and the staff enough. To go with Dr. Gross is his excellent staff. It shows that he seems to treat them well and not take them for granted. From the front office help, the consultant to the nurses and head nurse one could not ask for better care. If someone does ask for better it is humanly unreachable. Please do your research, save time and money. Listen to your inner voice. Don't end up with 3 surgeries to get your wanted results. If that inner voice says this place is not right listen. Even before that, I had two septoplastys before that as well. The first rhinoplasty I had wasn't exactly great and left me in a position of unhappiness with my nose never being straightened and also making the tip of my nose bulbous. With Dr. Gross, he was able to completely straighten my nose and remove/fix scar tissue of the tip of my nose. Extremely great patient interaction every time & would recommend him to anyone who's looking for genuine work to be done. I called the main number to speak to a Office employee who then called the Lake mary office to have an employee pop her head out to let me know that no provider had arrived yet and she could not unlock the door. I was allowed in at 8:20, 20 minutes after my appointment time. Once in the room, I had an office member and the provider both asked me why I was there, even though it was listed on my paperwork, which I was reminded several times via text and email to complete. When I mentioned the strange start to my visit, the provider asked what I meant. I explained all of the above. And she explained to me that "sometimes doors lock". At this point, I told her I would be leaving and wished her a good day. Do not come to this office. They are falling apart.
