I brought a John Deere mower deck up there for them to look at, one of the spindles was loose and would eventually fail. The service man welded the spindle on the spot and even greased the fittings.... no charge for me, they saw my Veteran plate, I was very appreciative! I bought a new Stihl chainsaw from them along with all the accoutrements. They filled the new saw with both gas and lube oil and started it right before me. I asked about a Veteran's discount and that is normally reserved solely for replacement parts but Will gave me a very decent discount on the new saw. This place has an excellent part dept and service dept. Last time I was there I spoke to Jesse R. at length, these people are very down to earth and my kind of people, I love these guys! read more

Terrible experience. From start to finish. Order was never put in because guy either quit or got fired. Finally got tractor and it stopped working after third use! Now told it is not covered by warranty. Stay as far away as you can from this place. Had to give one star to post. read more

Very disappointed and lost my business on two occasions. Two strikes and you're out in this case. First: upgraded my snowblower this year. My family and friends have been going to them for years. My father's first tractor was purchased with them and so I entrusted my business as well. They didn't have the snowblower I was looking for in stock which is more than acceptable, not everything is going to be in stock all the time. Sales representative said they were ordering more the next day, I wrote a check for the full amount and then radio silence. Called to get an update a week later, struggled to get the representative on the line. Finally got him on the phone and the response was he didn't know what was going on and they didn't place the order but would look into and call me later that day. Didn't happen. Had to chase him down for the next few days with similar response of not knowing when or why they were not placing orders. Eventually the recommendation from the representative was he would tear up my check and I should look for one somewhere else as there was no communication on when an order would even be placed. Went to Turf Depot later that day and had a fantastic experience, they come with my recommendation, not Rosencrantz. Second: I have a Z330R that is throwing "mowhawks". I purchased this mower from them before all this nonsense. I spoke to them before winter that I would like them to take a look and they said they would be happy to and bring it in early spring before they get busy. I've called multiple times as soon as the snow melted and I could take my mower from the shed. Their service department does not answer the phone and I have left multiple messages. No reply. I have filled out their online service form, no reply. I've called sales representatives where I have explained service is not responding, to which they say let me get you in contact with them, in which they just transfer you to their line in which as mentioned before, they don't answer. Out of frustration, I will now attempt to fix this on my own and I will never do business with them again. Judging by other reviews I am not alone. I am not one to spend this amount of time filling out a review, usually it falls into an "it is what it is" mentality and move on. However in this instance I felt the need to warn others to stay clear. It's too bad what this business has turned into. However I will repeat, stay clear. read more

Just had a riding mower brought in for service. Head Gasket. Purchased Mower from Lowes. Not happy with the service on the mower, the over quote on the job and the up sell on other claimed to need items. When tractor was returned the blade now spins even when the blade is not engaged. It did not do that when brought in for the engine work. Poor service poor ratings, will never bring anything here again. read more

We had a great experience with James Rosencrantz and Son. Mike came out to service our John Deere because it wouldn't stay running. He quickly found debris in the gas tank (turns out my husband had left the cap open!) and was able to clean it out without needing to take the whole tank apart. He also did the regular service before winter and replaced our mower blades with the correct ones. Mike was patient, explained everything clearly, and genuinely cared about doing a thorough job. Non-existent customer service. I met with the folks to buy a new tractor at the Deerfield fair. They sent me an estimate, which I had a question on. I reached out 3 times to them, both by phone and email and received no response. Clearly they don't want my business, and I can't recommend them. However, I called United Ag & Turf, and in 15 minutes we agreed on items, price and a pick-up time. Edit: Update on the comment reply for the business. I actually received an estimate the day after the end of the Fair. It was on all follow-up communication for the next two weeks that Rosencrantz was non-responsive. read more

So Gary said he reported my tractor stolen and on the way out kicked my trailer plate, breaking the bracket. They have a very professional store manager. I purchased three John Deere tractors from this wonderful place and have recommended countless friends. What really sets this dealership apart is the SERVICE. If I could give 100 stars I would. The field maintenance team are nothing short of amazing. They went thru my John Deere with such detail. It's now 2 yrs old and drives like new. Field Service Tech 'Mike' is such a great guy, he's personable, professional and really is a die hard John Deere fan himself. He pointed out many driving techniques to reduce wear and helped walk me thru the tractor in some ways that sales didn't do on the delivery of my tractor. Come here yes for a tractor, however, I absolutely cannot recommend them highly enough for their service acumen, professionalism and complete thoroughness. I proudly clean the dirt and grass stains off my Rosencrantz sticker as vehemetly as the John Deere enbossing throughout. He could have, AND SHOULD HAVE paused his call for just a second to greet me and call another sales associate. But no, he didn't. They repaired one of my tractors and the repair failed immediately. The tractor still reverses while in drive. The repairs were paid for. We brought the tractor back to them to fix, it sat there for over a year without a phone call. We asked a number of times why it hadn't been repaired to no avail. We picked the tractor up today, it was buried out back, untouched for a year. Unbelievable. read more

When my new tractor (1025R) was ready, Randy and a mechanical expert went over everything (how to start it, required maintenance, how to use the loader backhoe, etc.) and answered all my questions. This business is the BEST place to shop for lawn tractors, Staff is smart, courteous and very helpful. Not only do they sell equipment for lawns but there is also a service and parts division within the store. Today we learned they also provide a service for a flat pickup and delivery charge. Additional costs are the hourly repair fees and the cost of the parts needed for the repair(s). We will continue to shop in this store and have used both locations in both Derry and Kensington. I brought my Ztrack mower in for an issue April 22nd for an issue. They told me it would take 2 weeks to fix so I delivered it to the store. I called on the morning of May 1st to check on the progress and they said it was next to be serviced. So I thought they were going to call me right back. I didn't hear anything for a few days and called back and they said they are still working on a machine in the shop. I asked if they only had one mechanic and they told me that one left so right now they only have one but assured me that they would call me soon with an estimate. I didn't hear back so I called on May 4th. This time I pressured them to look at the mower. They called back and gave me an estimate for $269 but not for what I brought it in for but other things they found. When I asked about my issue, they said they couldn't find the problem and they don't have time to run the unit for the diagnosis. I pressured them to find the problem and gave them possible places to look. He came back ten minutes later with an estimate of over $800. I ended up picking the mower up and bring it to a reputable company. I bought over $27000 worth of equipment from this place. Thier service department is terrible. One more thing I didn't mention. I brought this same unit in for service last year and all 4 tires were flat. I just thought this was a fluke thing but now I know this is their normal practice. read more

Everyone wants good customer assistance after the sale of an expensive purchase if the need ever arises. This is what keeps you loyal to a company; good product, great services and friendly / reliable customer support. Over the years I have made several purchases with James R. Rosencrantz & Sons (aka John Deere); e.g. lawn tractor, snow blower, and other misc toys. They really do stand by the "after sale" support no matter what the inquiry and try to address it accurately, quickly and fair to ensure you as the customer are satisfied with the result. I recently had to have my Ariens snow blower serviced. And, of course it was days before the big snow storm. Damn Murphy's Law! Setting up a service call with David Brown was effortless. He was very polite, listened to the issue and was able to provide a timely at home service call which was convenient to my schedule as I do not have a vehicle to bring it in. (They do come pick up your machines as well, but I prefer to have it done onsite.) Yes they do make house calls too! Service was performed by Mike who was outstanding! He knows his machines and was very informative showing me what the issues were, and why the parts should either be replaced now or if you can save some money and hold off replacing components that still might have some life to them. Unfortunately, an unexpected part was broken and the machine had to be taken back to the service department at the facility so it could be repaired. Of all the cool things on the repair truck, this part was not available (it needed to be ordered if not already in stock back at the shop). So Mike made room in the back of the repair van, (trust me there wasn't much - ha) rolled the machine up the ramp and delivered it to the "home base". Since Mike was committed to onsite repairs, an in-house repair tech, Davis Lane, performed my repairs the following day and within two business days they were able to return my snow blower just before the big storm hit. I was very lucky with the timing and the perseverance of this team! They clearly communicate well to ensure the customer is the number one priority. Rick brought my machine back first thing the next business morning by 8:15AM as the snow was beginning to fall! David did a follow up to make sure all was satisfactory. So kudos to this team and their continued support to the customer after the initial sale. And, if you receive outstanding assistance this should not go unnoticed. Thanks guys! I tried to buy a tractor with a few attachments from them, the sales guy said they couldnt give me a value on my trade in on a Saturday, i asked him to match what Kubota was going to give me and I'd sign on a 45k tractor, i was repeatedly denied by the salesman. Come to find out they had the appraisers at another location but didnt tell me to go talk to them, so i drove from there to Kubota and bought a 50k tractor with the same attachments the same day, with no hassle. To get one person that makes your day is OK but to get all three. You know they are doing something fantastic. I bought my lawn mower from Barry. In a world filled with big box stores where you can't find anyone to help you, this is a company where you feel at home the moment you walk in - and after your purchase as well. I'm very choosy about spending the money I really don't have, and can't tell you how great their Service Department is. From the Sales Department to Service, you can't find a better business, anywhere. Recently (Spring 2018) purchased a new 500 series lawn tractor and snow blower attachment. Works great as a lawn mower and to tow trailer, aerator around the yard... Not impressed with the snow blower by any means. Went through 5-6 Shear pins this being the 2nd winter, one of the pulleys on top of blower already needs to be replaced (due to poor design I am told) as water / ice just sits on top and ruins the bearings. 2nd winter and already replacing parts on the blower assy. Not the machine it thought it would be. Had a Simplicity for over 15 years with blower, never an issue, never broke a shear pin. Thing was a beast. The John Deere snow blower attachment for the price, not so much. Somewhat disappointed, should have gone a different direction. Only answer I got was "your pushing it too hard". Never had that issue with Simplicity. On a positive note, Mike, the service guy is outstanding. read more
