Originally, he thought maybe it was fluke (about the toothache), and was hoping it was just temporary, but after a few days when it didn't go away, I ended up taking my dad to see my dentist - Dr. Steven Kumasaka in Kaneohe. After Dr. Steve looked at my father's tooth, he knew exactly what was causing the pain, and decided to refer my dad to "Oral Surgery Hawaii" because my dad had excessive bleeding (probably due to my dad taking blood thinners) in the past, when Dr. Steve had to remove a tooth for my dad. Oral Surgery Hawaii has three offices - they have an office in town, at the Ala Moana building, an office in Aiea, & an office in Kaneohe. Upon calling Oral Surgery Hawaii, I elected to make an appointment for my dad at the office in town because it was close to my workplace where I could easily drop off, and pick up my dad. Dr. Craig Yamamoto was the oral surgeon who took care of my dad, and I must say that he did an outstanding job doing my dad's surgery as there was minimum bleeding, & the procedure wasn't to painful for him either. The staff at Oral Surgery Hawaii was very professional, and informative. They explained to me on what to do for my dad after the surgery, as well as the staff following up the next day to see how my dad was doing. Nobody wants a tooth removed, but if you ever need something like this done, I can easily say that going to Oral Surgery Hawaii is a great place, and if you're lucky enough to get Dr. Craig Yamamoto, even better! (Although probably all of the doctors on staff are good! Lol!). Oral Surgery Hawaii does an array of procedures, looking at their website, I see they do the following types of procedures - 1. Dental Implants 2. Wisdom Tooth Removal 3. Full-Arch Restoration 4. Bone Grafting 5. Tooth Extractions 6. Impacted Canines 7. Orthognathic Surgery 8. Cleft Lip and Palate 9. Oral Pathology 10. Pre-Prosthetic Surgery 11. Other Tooth Replacement Procedures 12. Facial Trauma 13. Platelet-Rich Plasma Here's da link - https://oralsurgeryhawaii.com/procedures

(Abscess). His cheek was swollen. We had seen his pediatric dentist at Tooth Buds (whom we also love by the way). Dr. Lauren is not our normal dentist, but she was great. She called Dr. Nishimoto to seek a second opinion in his specialty. They were able to take us the very next morning (my son wasn't in pain, maybe a 2/10). They fit us into their schedule and we were able to get in first thing the next morning. They even let us in the office BEFORE they opened to sign papers and get settled. We didn't wait long at all in the waiting room. Front desk staff were very friendly, office was clean and inviting. But my main point for the review is the CARE we got from Dr. Nishimoto. He is AMAZING with kids!!! OMG you could just tell he LOVES kids. He asked my son questions to determine what was going on. He saw my son for a follow up appt in a few days. For me as a mom, I was very worried because of all the horror stories you hear about infections in the mouth that can lead to DEATH. He was very attentive to my worry and concern. He took the time to explain to me what could be causing the swelling and pain and ruled out what it couldn't be such as mumps! I found our office visit to be very thorough. Turns out his diagnosis of what my son had was correct and my son felt better the next day. If I can remember correctly he had like an infection of his salivary glands and some swollen lymph nodes. Thank you Dr. Nishimoto and staff for the above and beyond quality care. We hope to see you again in 10 years (and no sooner) when my son needs his wisdom teeth pulled!

And then there's Dr. Nishimoto himself, who is an absolute ray of sunshine! He has this amazing way of making you feel comfortable, explaining everything clearly, and ensuring you feel at ease throughout the process. Not only is the care top-notch, but the office itself is charming and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you need any kind of oral surgery, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Nishimoto and his team. You'll be in the best hands possible!

Dr. Gregory Lung is the very best at what he does, not only technically but personally. He made certain that I was comfortable throughout the procedure (extraction of 4 teeth). She too was just as caring and professional! Throughout the procedure, Dr. Lung called out what was needed and not once did he have to repeat himself. (He also kept sharing the credit of the success of the procedure with Labry each time I thanked him!) This office is located in a building across the street from Don Quijote Kaheka. Parking lot ceiling kind of low but I was able to get my Tacoma in and out without incident. Free validated parking! Overall, a very positive experience! Local anesthesia was included, but they also offer laughing gas or IV sedation for those sensitive to pain--just be sure to come on an empty stomach if you choose those options. My appointment lasted for about an hour. Dr. Arakawa walked me through every step of the procedure, both before and during, which immediately put me at ease. He's thorough, professional, and compassionate. His staff were equally kind and provided a take-home bag with aftercare instructions, gauze, and my prescription. What really stood out was Dr. Arakawa's post-procedure care--he personally called to check in and ensure I was doing well. It's rare to see that level of care these days! I wanted someone with a lot of experience because the thought of having posts screwed into my jaw bone frightened me at first. I did a lot of research on the internet but I was still skeptical but in my initial consultation with Dr Yamamoto, all my fears were dispersed instantly. He gentle mannerism and thorough knowledge won me over. Plus, he asked me questions and listened intently. I've been to so many dentist and oral surgeons and have come across many uncaring or indifferent doctors or worst yet I get the hard sell. There's a lot of money involved in implants and when you need 3 like I did, some dentists see gold in dem mountains! But to Dr Yamamoto, I really felt like he was truly concerned about my health and welfare, easing my fears, making me comfortable, explaining in detail the process and all the while checking on how I'm feeling. I knew from that initial meeting, he was the one. The staff was professional and experts in their jobs. Each did their task efficiently and I could tell they enjoyed what they did, took their job seriously and knew they were a part of a skilled team that worked like a well oiled machine. The prep went smoothly and then came the day to place the implants in my jaw. He said it would be painless and I am super sensitive to pain in my mouth. By golly, it was! He worked quickly and expertly and we was done placing 3 implants within an hour. Constantly checking on how I was doing. While he worked he explained to me what he was doing., I liked knowing what was going on. In the end we had a talk on caring for the implants, the staff gave me explicit instructions for home and that was it. BAM! After the surgery I had no discomfort at all. A little swelling but I took no pain pills. I followed their instructions and a week later he checked his work and was pleased with the result. Now the implants need to attach to the bone for 3 months. Today was my final visit. I was ecstatic! Three months flew by and I never once felt pain, discomfort or concern. I knew it was a success. Dr Yamamoto checked first on how I was doing and explained what the torque test was for. He checked his work, did his test and was pleased. Done! What was interesting was that he asked me how my experience was with him and his staff. And if I was pleased to please comment on his practice. I like that. As a business owner, I totally believe in asking your customer for their business and their feedback. I feel, it keeps you honest and true to your profession. You have nothing to hide. Your customers and in this case patients are your best advocates. Why not ask them to be your spokespersons. A businessman or practitioner strives even harder at their profession knowing they will be reviewed by every patient in every procedure. Kudos to this exceptional oral surgeon, his entire staff and the incredible practice they have fostered. One last thing. I have to give credit to my dentist Dr Candace Wada for referring me to Dr Yamamoto. Dr Wada is another fine dentist who I was fortunately referred to by a good friend Tanya who works in the office. Dr Wada is in her own right a fantastic practitioner. Do yourself a favor and read her reviews.

My 19- year old daughter went to Dr. Pamaplon on a referral from her pediatric dentist. She needed all 4 wisdom to be removed. Trying to make an appointment was difficult. Took one full day for someone to call me back and schedule an appointment. Nevertheless I brushed it off. No biggie. Day came for the procedure and the receptionist/front girl was a little sassy but that was also fine and we were unbothered. Gave us 4 pages, front and back, to fill out. 10 minutes later after filling everything out, we went in. Doctor gave us the breakdown of the procedure. Asked us what type of numbing we wanted, laughing gas or anesthesia. We opted for laughing gas. She did not fast for 8 hours. My daughter stayed in the room and I left to the waiting room which is about the size of a 12x12 room. Nurse peeked in and whispered something to the front girl. The front girl made a comment "we can always change our minds..." then called me over and said since I changed the type of numbing the cost is more for the procedure. That's not a problem. But she still felt the need to make a comment about "us changing our minds". Procedure was quick, that was great. The worst part was the numbing she said. Everything was fine after that. About a week later, my daughter was having pain on one side. Tried calling all morning 8-12 and no response. I told her to walk in and talk to the front girl to make an appointment since no one was answering the phone. They told her she had to wait as a "walk in". They ended up getting her an appointment for the following day at 2pm. 2pm comes the following day, Dr.Pampalon did the numbing (injections) and pain which was expected. Then he proceeded to dig into her gums, scraping gum tissue. She could feel ALL of it. He didn't care, didn't ask if she was ok, didn't ask if it hurt. She was kicking her feet while tears ran down her face. She made every indication she was in pain and he SAID NOTHING TO HER. When he was done he walked out, rushed out the door as though he was late for his next victim. His assistant looked at my daughter and asked if the pain was from the numbing. My daughter replied "no! It was from him scraping my gums! I could feel all of it!" She calmly said "oh ya we had to get all the tissue in case it was infected". NO APOLOGIES, NO CONSIDERATION! She had tears running down her face! Bawling. Dr. Pampalon was so unprofessional and insensitive and didn't have any human dignity. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. I'm ashamed and feel like a terrible mother for sending her there and not being there when this happened. Think twice before booking your oral procedures here.
