It's such a refreshing blessing to come across someone like Dennis at Zooks. He's thorough,…read moreattentive, careful, and above all else, honest. I had a few contractors take a look at a potential roofing issue, including some who simply provided quotes based on photos without ever looking in person. Dennis, however, not only wanted to assess in person but took the time to get onto the roof and check things out. Drawing on his lifetime expertise in roofing, he quickly identified the issue and offered to fix it on the spot. I'm happy to say everything looks as good as new. I strongly recommend Zooks. His company kind of feels like a "best kept secret" for roofing needs on Yelp. Looking forward to leveraging Dennis' skills for additional projects. (Note to anyone else reading this: please be aware there are other, unrelated companies with the same name -- don't confuse them as I almost did.)

When we decided to remodel our kitchen we had a major hurdle to overcome - we wanted to keep a wall…read moreof built ins on one side of the kitchen and have the new cabinets match the existing. We met with several cabinet makers and some home improvement 'specialists(?)' but they all tried to sell us contrasting cabinets instead of matching the new with the old. With more online searching we found SMD Custom Cabinets - and so glad we did! We met with Kevin at his workshop without an appointment and scheduled for him and his wife Kim to come to our house to look at the project at hand. He immediately impressed us with his knowledge and enthusiasm. It when he assured us that he could match the new cabinets - style, color and finish - to the existing built ins we were completely sold! He listened to what we wanted and envisioned for our kitchen and offered helpful suggestions. Our plans changes several times but that just fueled his enthusiasm! The end result is a beautiful kitchen with custom cabinets that we couldn't be happier with! Kevin's attention to detail is only surpassed by the quality of his work which is amazing! Also noteworthy is that he and Kim were both friendly and professional at all times - and truly went above and beyond through out the entire remodel for our satisfaction. A shoutout to their crew as well for a great install. We couldn't be happier with our new cabinets and we highly recommend Kevin / SMD Custom Cabinets!

I called G.L.R. and very quickly received a response from Justin to come out and give me an estimate. I also received the estimate in a timely manner and the estimate was a very reasonable price. I did not know the cause of the mold and Justin found 4 things that were contributing to the growth and was able to correct all four things. Justin is very knowledgeable and it was clear that he knew what he was doing and he takes pride in doing the job right. He suggested other improvements (that I didn't think of) such as offsetting the paint job with 2 different colors to make the bathroom look better. This bathroom is my kids bathroom and I can tell that they are taking steps to keep it cleaner now that it has been redone. I now have a sigh of relief that the mold is gone and won't come back AND it looks great! He took care to NOT get the rest of the house dirty while he was working and cleaned up afterwards.

Admittedly we expanded our project as we went, but I have never had a contractor that expected the customer to buy even the basic supplies... ie: paint rollers, pans, etc. ( I have had prior contractors who gave me a quote and they purchased all supplies and did the work.) Fine went down hill quickly.... they don't know how to measure... door jams don't meet the floor, trim in the bathroom is off by more than a quarter of an inch. AND... don't even expect a decent application of paint! The wainscoating buckled to the point of pushing trim out of line and of course that wasn't corrected. Brett doesn't stand by his work either... we voiced concerns and he said he would "fix it" On several occasions he said he would come to do work and he never showed. Last time he was here, I thought he was coming back to do final touch ups but NO.... I have sent him pics of cracked dry wall, paint/plaster on windows, carpets/trim, areas of walls that have missed paint, etc. and there is a window sill that is SOOO out of level you can't set a plant on it. At one time he told my husband, " I didn't know she wanted things so fancy." In my opinion, nothing is fancy but I did expect professional service. If what was being asked was out of his realm of expertise, he should have said so and another contractor would have been retained. He has not responded to calls or texts. BEWARE.
