I called around 9:30AM and in 2 hours, the owner, John Ozinga and his helper Steve arrived. They assessed the damage, gave me a fair price of $199 and completed the task in under an hour. They did the work professionally on a 2nd story roof with drizzle and high wind. No easy task. Wind gusts persisted through the afternoon torture testing their work. I suspect many contractors would take advantage of the emergency situation and charge a premium for the severe weather conditions. In addition to the quick, professional service and great price, they were quite pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend Ozinga Roof Systems.

Afterwards I found out it was only the second metal roof they did. They misrepresented themselves as experienced. No underpayment/ice shield at all was used. They knowingly used the wrong materials and hand bent all trim edging so it looks warped and bent. Screw holes open everywhere. Cocking holding pieces together. New gutters are hanging and dented with tools left inside them. Water doesn't drain and floods our front door. Within weeks all three floors of the interior of my home had ceiling damage. They refused to produce any insurance, warranty, or receipts. They ran over our outdoor light post at end of our driveway and broke the cement which sliced the wires open and exposed. They refused to have it fixed. The did not answer an attorney we hired. They sent a guy to fix our living room ceiling a year and a half later, once all three ceilings were collapsed in my home. He "floated" a tiny square of drywall that wasn't secured to studs, not taped, and fell less than two weeks later when it rained because our ceilings yet again collapsed. The kid told me he doesn't even do drywall. After almost thirty thousand dollars, tears, we have to come up with more money to sue. When we had companies from out of town come to do several inspections we found out that this is a RECURRING problem they see from this "roofer". The only went messaged us at 4 and n the morning drunk yelling. We feel helpless and our house is ruined with all walls ruined and mold. We contracted Gene's Carpentry in August to build a roof over our front porch. It has been a very…read moredifficult process and today, 11/15/22, we asked to pay for what has been done so far and be done with him. Gene does not check the materials when delivered. He ordered the wrong siding and we had to pay a restocking fee to get the correct siding. As he started working, he found the trusses were not the right size and had to move a window. When he put up the 4x4s, he did not have all the vinyl coverings for them. When he did get the trusses up, the 4x4s were crooked. My husband had to take 2 days off work to show him how to fix them. My husband also had to take 2 days off to help make sure he got the plywood and shingles on. When he went to do the soffit, he did not have the J channel. Another day off to find it. He started working on the siding on the peak and it did not line up on the two sides of the window. My husband has to take off what he did and redo it. We still have soffit to finish, railings to be put up, and steps to be built. Now the weather is changing and the work may not be done until Spring. A job that should have take at most 2 weeks is now stretching into months. He does not show up when he says he will. He works 2 or 3 hours and leaves. He refused to provide his licensing information, which makes us wonder if he is licensed. Gene is a nice guy but with 12 years of supposed experience, there is a lot he doesn't seem to know.
