A hideous institution. I have so many complaints against these guys where do you start? Thank…read moregoodness for the internet, maybe over time it will make a material change to the way they treat people. I went in here not so long ago to withdraw funds for a building project. The middle aged loser guy behind the till was clearly unhappy that I had some savings and asked me every security question imaginable, to the point where it became offensive. I was not new to this branch, had already showed my drivers licence, passport and answered every question promptly but he was intent on causing me trouble. In the event I was made to feel like he was doing me a favour giving me my money. RBS don't seem to get that it's other people's money, not their own. More. I bought a part for my boiler online. The transaction went through 4 times and cleared my account. I called the call centre and was told to contact the merchant - I did this and was then told to chase rbs as it was common for them to do this. I shouldn't have been surprised with the response from rbs, in their typical financial services schoolchild culture all I got was "it's not our fault" and go back to merchant " I know we're in the right". At no point was I offered any real help. While rbs and the merchant passed the blame I missed out on my next day holiday to Ireland (they cleared my account) while they took a few days to release my funds (rbs). I still get a horrid feeling when I go through the doors, like I'm expecting some sort of hassle or headache with every transaction I make with them. Add to this the charges that have been put against me from not only my student days but from daft things like the incident mentioned above, where they deducted too much money from my account then charged me and then made me jump through hoops to get my money back. RBS are an organisation of thieves. They hide behind an official logo which they think differentiates them but thieves they are.
