In addition, I love their alliance with Stanford Health. Stanford has many locations with high tech equipment for all sorts of specialties. I have always received competent and helpful assistance when scheduling an appointment and have always been cheerfully met at the reception desk. Best if all is my Physician, Dr. John Carper. I have been with him for over 30 years. He is on-time, thorough, patient and a great listener. I am never rushed with him. In addition, I appreciate the detailed discussions about lab followups and his expert advice. My last visit, I was actually taken to the exam room 10 minutes early! With Alameda Family Physicians and Stanford, my health is closely tracked and well documented. I feel like everything is being done to monitor changes in health due to age and corrective actions are being made to keep my body in check. In my opinion, Alameda Family Physicians is stellar with preventative care!

She indignantly told me HOW DARE I EXPECT TO BEE SEEN and sent me away. HEY JERK! How about all those times I had to wait way beyond that for YOU?!! How about the time you told me my doctor had' retired' when, in fact, she left and started her own practice? You then gave me a new doctor who went out on Maternity leave and no one could see me? I have been coming here since my late doctor started this practice 20 years ago. Once they were affiliated with Stanford, they went downhill. I will look for a new doctor.

Hands down the worst, most hectic, disrespectful, and unprofessional experience I have ever had…read morewith a doctor. I am not exaggerating. I rarely if ever leave bad reviews, but this one was very serious for me. I called Dr Fredian twice to try to book an appointment. She blew me off and sent me to her online patient portal, which did not work. I called to explain that the online system did not work, and she told me to email her. She still would not just take a single moment to make me an appointment herself. I then followed her instructions and emailed her to try to set up an appointment, and she never responded. So I emailed one more time. By the 4th time I reached out, I asked her to please really take me seriously because I was experiencing symptoms that gave me some small discomforts and concern, and I truly felt I needed a doctor, but not an ER. Her response was to call my voicemail and yell at me in my voicemail to just go to Urgent Care and tell me that my email asking for her to please take me seriously was "inappropriate." When I called back and tried to explain that I was not in need of urgent care, but just in need of a regular doctor's appointment, and that urgent care would not be helpful since I did not even have a regular doctor that I could list as my primary doctor, nor had I even seen a doctor at all for a basic visit, she told me that my phone call was "wasting valuable time" she could be spending with her patients. I was pretty shocked to hear that, but tried one more time to explain that I just really wanted to become one of those "valuable patients." I guess I'm only "valuable" if I am already paying into her pocket? When I tried to explain that all I was trying to do was become a patient because she had come well-recommended, and that I was finding it frustrating to try to access her services using the online modality, she hung up on me. What kind of doctor blows off and hangs up on a sick person who is just trying to get an appointment?

Carbon Health also makes it very easy with the app for same day appts., if available. - I came for a cough and heavy breathing after being sick for a while. It was a same day visit because I was not able to get in with my regular primary. I have been here before and had thorough care . Sometimes with healthcare you are sent away just to find yourself right back. The NP even followed up after via the app which fits well with my form of communication. I am glad to have Carbon Health available for times like this and have found myself using more and more instead of waiting until my Primary office can see me.

He was shaming and condescending & seemed unable to grasp the verbal and social cues I was communicating as I was trying not to be rude myself. I don't have health insurance and he seemed more concerned with that than helping me. They asked me if I was unhoused when I said I was self pay. Is that even ok to ask? Unprofessional? I am a professional person with two masters degrees; an MSW and an MS in child development. I say that to say that I've worked with a lot of people in a lot of settings, including private hospitals, state hospitals, as well as public and private clinics of all kinds. I even told him I was a therapist. I've also been to urgent care places around the country to treat my asthma as well as regular primary care doctors and specialists my whole life. For him to literally man-splain to me what an allergy test is and what asthma tests do, and the importance of regular medical care, was infuriating. I have never been treated this way in my life (female, 52). I walked out dumbfounded, angry, unsatisfied, and had my time and money wasted. I wasted an hour plus the gas to drive over there, and spent almost $300 to not get my needs met. He was dismissive, rude, judging, and just so unprofessional. People like him are why the rest of us don't ever go to the doctor. #TerribleCustomerService #Rude #Dismissive #Condescending #Shaming #Overpriced #Unprofessional #BadValue

Was so happy to get a next day appointment for a consult (I have insurance). I had a string of…read moreitchy patches all over my body...ever since I had major surgery ~ a week ago. I was tired of my surgeon saying the bites were an allergic reaction when I had stopped meds for several days and the "bites" were worsening. I found Dr. Kong on Yelp and made an appointment. When I arrived the front desk was friendly but she was texting...(so unprofessional!). She checked me in and said Dr. Lam will be seeing me...WHAT? I did not ask to be seen by Dr. Lam and she didn't even tell me I was seeing someone else until I had to check in- I was not pleased but desperate for answers. As I waited a gentleman off the street (Kaiser pt) asked to see the dr for an issue he had with bed bug bites...the front desk gal said they did not take his insurance but the consult would be $160 (new patient fee). He refused (I will explain how this fee made me cringe later when I saw how much my visit was billed. My boyfriend accompanied me as he had started developing a rash as well and I thought both our health histories would be important to hear (even if he is not the patient (he does not have insurance). I explained my frustration and my surgeons claim of a medicaiton reaction...he looked at only the bites on my arms and neck (I had some on my back, my feet, my fingers, etc) with a magnifier and did ever ask to see my boyfriends rash....just for comparison. He just said "it's a reaction to drugs or something." So he gave me pednisone and antibotics to relieve symptoms. What happens several days later? It was discovered my bedroom has bed bugs...and the so called "rash" were bed bug bites! REALLY all those years of medical training to specialize in allergies/immuniology and you can't tell a bed bug bite from a drug reaction? MAYBE IF HE HAD CONSIDERED MY BOYFRIENDS SITUATION TOO - WHICH IS to look at your patients as a whole person....not just a body with symptoms. It is easy to prescribe drugs to cure symptoms...but this is not the cure!! Now with the fees...the so called consult fee for the guy w/o insurance was ~ $120, my ofice fee was $355! My insurance paid $ 178.83. So pissed at the inflated fees charged because I have insurance (what a racket!) I have worked in Cancer Research for over 10 years and the medical field for 18yrs and I have seen how medical care/consults/diagnosis has turned into a string of drive by sloppy expensive consults that not only waste your time but you lose money from work which pays for the drugs that mask the real problem because the diagnosis is so generic. DOCTORS NEED TO RETURN TO the basics taught in medical school. Get to the know the WHOLE patient. A verbal HEALTH HISTORY.is better than filling out countless health history forms (which just get tossed into your chart and never looked at again....this is just to cover the ass of the treating physician). Look for less obivious signs and symptoms...to get the the bottom of the pain, suffering, etc. DON'T JUST FOLLOW SOME COOKIE CUT OUT REACTION/PRESCRIPTION because it's easy.

Worst primary doctor I've got…read more First, he didn't want to spend much time with the patients. Of course when people are sick, they want to know what's going on, and try to understand the medical terms doctors mentioned. This doctor just is not happy to spend time explaining. You can definitely feel the temper. Second, he wants to charge you right away. Normally, the bill will go through insurance company, then you pay the amount your company told you to pay. In this office, they told you they THINK how much you should pay, and it's "normally accurate". Wait, what if you are wrong? the answer is "we will send you a refund check." Third, I had a blood test. This doctor refused to call me to let me know the result. He repeated: if the result are normal, I'm not going to call you. If it's abnormal, schedule a visit then I'll talk to you. So I asked the assistant, can you just let me know if he received the report (so that I can figure out it means normal)? Sadly, I never hear back from them. I guess if the report is abnormal and get lost on the way to his office, I'll never know!
