However on 3-4 different occasions of being there the owner of the store is consistently very loud, arrogant, and creates an annoying environment to try and work in. Instead of peace and quiet while trying to paint, you have a woman complaining about her finances or her kids personal issues. Would be nice to just have some peace.

So on this gloomy Saturday, we grabbed the kid and headed up looking for something to pass the time. I am not a big "arts and crafts" person but on our scouting trip had seen a mug that looked like fun to paint so I agreed to go along. We had a blast! The place was busy, with both a class and walk-in business, so we all grabbed the pieces we wanted to paint (and there is a ton to choose from), grabbed a bunch of paints and headed to one of the back rooms to get down to business. The staff there was very helpful, telling us noobs how to paint our pieces and showing us numerous techniques for getting the look we desired. In addition to all the pottery and art supplies they do offer some limited snacks and drinks, including beer (and maybe wine) which was an added bonus. The afternoon just flew by as we all got involved in our projects and next thing we knew, we had spent 3 hours creating our "masterpieces." Once done, you leave your pieces there and they glaze and fire your pieces. They say it can be up to 2 weeks before they are done but it was less than a week when I got the call that our pieces were ready for pick up. As for cost, I think it is very reasonable. You have to remember that included in the price of your piece is all the paints that you will be using and the time spent there-I know some of these places charge a fee for the time you spend painting, this place doesn't do that. My mug cost me $28 and while I probably wouldn't spend that on a mug if I just bought 1 at the store, I feel that $28 was quite a deal considering the paint I used and the time we spent there, entertaining ourselves. We will definitely be going back at some time!
