Mother's Day dinner was disappointing, especially since we had an early 5 PM reservation and the…read morerestaurant was only about half full. It took nearly 15 minutes for our server to greet us, and our appetizer arrived before our drinks, for this round, only three drink orders total. Throughout the visit, we felt pressured to place our entrée order before we were ready. Once our food arrived, we noticed the enchiladas had red sauce instead of the tomatillo/green sauce we ordered. The food runner insisted the red sauce was tomatillo sauce, which was clearly incorrect. What stood out most was the lack of service continuity. We were seated by the window and noticed our server, Jacqueline, left around 6 PM simply because her shift ended. There was no introduction to another server or any handoff whatsoever. After waiting quite a while with no one checking on us, we eventually had to go to the host stand ourselves just to close out the bill. Our tab was around $200. Rather than dine and dash, we paid in full for the food and drinks, but chose not to leave gratuity based on the experience. The food itself was nicely presented and overall tasted good, but high prices comparable to Chicago do not automatically make a restaurant upscale. If you're looking to overspend on Mexican cuisine while receiving poor customer service, this may be the place for you.

One had pineapple, one had persimmon and one was tomato/classic. So delicious. Chips were great, the salsa was very spicy. We had a pitcher of cranberry margaritas. Loved them, not too sweet or tart. My entree was fish tacos. They were deep fried & a little too done. Almost burnt tasting. I liked the slaw that came on it. They brought out a giant sparkler & watermelon shots for my friend's birthday. So fun & tasty! Can't wait to come back & try something else on their large menu.

It's the best thing I have found in the Chicago/Indiana area. I'm afraid to say that no one is as good as Texas. The queso was really good along with the chips and salsa. They offered me a 26 or 32 oz Michelob Ultra Draft, I opted for the 32 oz. The server could have been more attentive, especially since there were just about 4 two toppers and 1 group of six. We held a conversation without having to yell, and was quite pleasant. The atmosphere was great. Santa Fe is definitely one of my top five Mexican restaurants outside of Texas.

My mom said the carnitas were perfect, a favorite dish of hers that tastes just like at the older location. The chips were tasty with a hint of salt, and the bag was nice and oily - a sign we weren't getting dry old stale chips :) I want to go back, and dine in, and try a margarita or a draft beer with my meal.
