The food is delicious! The barbecue is so good and I love the homemade fries. Our waitress was really sweet.

Came in for lunch today and it was a nice first experience at this fairly recent restaurant/bar opening on highway 43 in Northport. The bartender who served me was lovely and incredibly helpful. The service was definitely the best part of the stop. I ordered the smoked chicken sandwich. Let me say first that the fries here are absolutely superb: natural cut, well fried, extremely generous in their portions. 10/10 The smoked chicken, on the other hand, was not quite as generous and was not quite as good. The meat was super dry and it was pulled so much as to be quite small and stringy. I find smoked chicken to be better when slightly larger chunks are part of the pulling process. Similarly, there was at least three instances of gristle so intense I had to spit it into my napkin. No offense to the pit master, but I think whoever was smoking this needed to take it off earlier and whoever was pulling it needed to check for inedible parts a bit more. None of this was enough to stop me from coming back for a second try at some point in the future. I will look to something else on the menu and update my review then. read more

It is sad to say, but i feel i must say....i ate a late lunch/early dinner (about 4pm) yesterday 8/6/26 at #Jake's Junk Joint on Hwy 43. this was my 4th time to eat there. Food was horrible to say the least! Cole Slaw was a joke, tiny little cup (2 little bites is all you get), Cole Slaw taste good..... French Fries, taste like they were left over from the day before, some were soggy, some were hard as a rock...and COLD! ....Smoked Chicken sandwich, was ok i guess, did not have much of a smoked flavor, but was tender...chicken was served at room temperature, was not hot r even warm, just room temperature. had very little white bbq sauce...sweet ice tea was excellent...service/waitress was great....and this cold bad meal cost $20.00 ...now i do not mind paying for good food, ask anyone that knows me. I must say, i don't think i will ever darken the door of this establishment again. read more

My wife and I met up with some family here tonight, and let me tell you, round two was just as good as round one. From the second we walked in, the staff greeted us like we were long-lost cousins (the kind you actually like). It was the first visit for the couple with us, and our waitress went full-on professor mode--breaking down the menu like a college lecture, but way more fun. She even explained the colors and textures of the dishes like we were about to paint with our food instead of eat it. I can already see this place turning into Bama game day headquarters--with TVs everywhere, a pool table waiting for bragging rights, and not one but two bars to keep things lively. Prices stack up about the same as other spots in town, but the food? Way better. The Smokin' Joe's sandwich and fries didn't just hit the spot--they rented the spot and threw a party on it. read more

First time going here. First impression, the parking is very limited but overall clean parking lot and up kept exterior (it's new). When you walk in, you can either go to the dinning area or the bar where there are pool tables and places to drink. We got seated right away and ordered apps and entrees together. Our food came out fast. The Buffalo chicken dip was good, but the portion of the chips to dip was off (too many chips and very little dip). The fries were okay. The fries did taste house made, but it lacked salt which is the main ingredient to house made fries. The cheese sauce on the fries was an interesting taste and texture. Bacon bits were fresh and it came with ranch. For the entree, I thought I was getting a patty melt with chicken, but instead it was a chicken filleted with a ton of cheese, house sauce and thick cut bacon. The chicken was cut great and had good grill flavor. Bacon was nice and crunchy! The cheese was a little too much for me. It had sliced cheese on both pieces of chicken and a lot of sauce on top. Personally, I think less is more. The collard greens were good and had a little kick to them. Overall, this place did not disappoint and I would definitely go back and get something new, just maybe without the fries. read more

I recently tried this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. Overall, it was good. I got the Ram Slam hamburger. The hamburger was very good. I also got fries with it. The fries were the best part. They are hand cut. I don't know why more restaurants don't do this. My only complaint about the food is the size! The hamburger had 2 patties, but it was a small burger. If I were to sell a burger this small, I would make sure to give a bunch of fries. But sadly, this portion is also on the small side. I would've given 4 stars easily for this visit if the service had been better. The waitress was quick to show up and take the order, but then she disappeared. She showed up a couple of times, just doing enough to get a tip. I finally noticed that she was hiding behind the hostess. Overall, a good place to get a hamburger, if you're not that hungry. I hope they improve the service. read more

It's a juke joint and the atmosphere matches. A couple of bars, pool table and stage for musicians. It was packed on a Friday night but didn't have to wait too long for a table. The service was quick and efficient. The menu had several options from BBQ, wings and burgers. All the menu items had creative names. We had The Regular (pulled pork sandwich) and the Miller G (classic smash cheeseburger). Both were tasty and came with heaping piles of fresh cut fries. The pork was tender and juicy. The burger had good seasoning and a nice flavor profile with the Jake's sauce. Probably need a second patty. We'll also substitute another side instead of getting two piles of fries. We'll be back soon. Looking forward to the meatloaf next time. read more

Saw this place on TikTok and decided to check it out. The restaurant was clean, and I appreciated having the game on since it was game day. Fries were excellent: fresh, crispy, and a big portion. The chicken sandwich didn't have much flavor, and overall service felt just okay. One thought for game days: it'd be great to show more than one matchup on the TVs, i know I was in Alabama country but having options and updates on other games would be a nice touch. Overall, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me, but I see the potential and would give it another shot if I'm in the area again. read more

I ordered the Miller G hamburger, since it is their signature burger. The meat was very tasty and cooked just right, juicy and not to crisp. For $12, the meat was on the small side. I ordered the signature sauce on the side. I'm glad I did, because it was not remarkable. The cheese tasted like a Kraft single. The slice of tomato was a little bit larger than a pickle. The shoestring fries, cut in-house, could've been slightly thicker. They were fried in beef tallow and were lightly salted. The serving was copious and very tasty. All in all, this was a good meal. read more

A family group of 8 on our first visit to the restaurant. Food was just okay. Our big complaint was our waiter. From the moment we were seated, he gave off the attitude that with a group of our size there would be an automatic gratuity added to the tab so he didn't have to put in any effort and he definitely didn't. No drink refills unless specifically asked, four of the orders were incorrect when brought to the table and were not hot, except the coleslaw which must have been under the heat lamp. Yuck. We were never offered to-go-boxes until asked for, etc. I believe a good waiter makes or breaks the experience and Zack definitely broke it. read more

Well read some reviews and saw the menu and decided to take my wife for a try. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND WASTE OF MONEY! Had the smoked meatloaf, collards and mashed potatoes. Meatloaf was dry as hell, as in way over cooked. If there were onions or other veggies in there they had evaporated. Mashed potatoes? More likely it was lightly smashed, like potato salad without seasoning. Collards were good but so little of it. My wife had a side of collards with her salad. $3.50 that may have been 2-3 once's at best. Not worth it. I would have expected cornbread served with my meal but the reply about it was that the only bread served was buns for the burgers. And to complete my rant I will say the food was served warm and not hot. Unacceptable. Never serve up cold or warn food. My wife was not please with her salad nor the $17 cost. Hell I'm not happy with my $17 meatloaf meal. And no bread! So I'll get a very delicious moist, tender meatloaf at Cracker Barrel next time I'm in the mood, including turnip greens and real mashed potatoes. And it will be hot too! And my wife will get a better salad at Zaxby's at half the the price and it will be delicious. read more

Service was terrible from the moment we walked in the door. Servers and bartenders are untrained. It was just mass chaos and you could definitely tell. I had the wildcat burger, which was good, but not good enough to return. We were asked if we wanted ranch with our fries, then charged for it without being told it was an upcharge. They asked me if I wanted a straw for my beer, lol. Everytime I got a new comso, it had different garnishes and not one time was it the correct garnish. They have a whole separate bar that is for 21 & up, but no sign saying that, just a hostess that yells at you. The place is just thrown together, horrible set up, no training, okay drinks, and mediocre food. I won't be back. read more

Owner is rude and encourages Good Ol' Boy behavior, which is completely against the Juke Joint culture. He's been caught saying things like "put make up on me prettier" to underage female staff. The kitchen was restructured to put out cheap bar food with a cheap staff after he had a real chef get the menu finalized to bring in a crowd, but that's all changed as of now..this is a bar with bar food. The worst part is, there is about a minimum 8 min wait for a beer from the cooler, if the bartender can find it. He keeps a drunk server on staff regularly seen with a pee spot on his pants. I eat there today and hamburger and fries. They were terrible. I heard a lot of good things about this new place. I won't go back.

We ate here last night. First off, very limited parking. We tried looping around the back looking for more parking, but right at the end we found one car blocking the road so we had to back all the way back out. We ended up parking at a closed business next door and then walking over. We did not have to wait for a table, after we suggested sitting at a hi top. They should really offer this to customers as an option. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip/chips appetizer and two burgers with fries and two ice waters. We waited 20-30 minutes for the appetizer and were extremely disappointed. There were adequate chips, but only a tiny saucer of the dip. The dip had a couple of chunks of chicken and can't say much for the flavor as the dip was very watered down. I have never had a buffalo chicken dip that thin and runny. At best, you should get 2 saucers of dip or one much larger saucer. As it was, we only had enough dip for 5 chips and again it was so watery. The burgers were ok, but nothing special. For $45 is does not feel like we got our monies worth. On another note, the decor was a mix of chandeliers, old news articles and movie posters - so a variety. At this point we are not planning a return visit. Oh and not sure why it lists my location as San Francisco - I live here in Northport. read more
