I wish there were a rating below one star for Dr. Gupta and his staff, David.
My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. I drove to the office early so I could avoid traffic and make sure I arrived on time.
After dealing with traffic and finding parking, I arrived approximately 10-15 minutes early. When my appointment time passed, I waited about 10 minutes and then asked the very nice receptionist about the delay. She told me that the doctor was running late.
The waiting room was freezing, so I decided to wait outside. After some time, I went back and asked the receptionist again, and she still told me that the doctor was running late.
At that point, I called my insurance company, and they told me that I needed to speak with the doctor's office. I then called the office and spoke with David. I asked him how much longer I would have to wait, and he hung up on me.
At that point, I had completely lost my patience. Eventually, they called me into the examination room. A student or assistant came in and attempted to take my blood pressure, but I was so upset and overwhelmed that I could not handle it at that moment.
I asked to speak with the office manager. I waited again in the examination room, but no one came. I eventually stepped outside and again asked to speak with the office manager, but no one came to speak with me.
Finally, Dr. Gupta came in with no apparent sense of compassion or apology. By that point, I was extremely upset, I was almost in tears and shaking. I had waited six to seven months for this appointment, only to wait another 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to be seen. Then, Dr. Gupta told me that I needed to contact my primary care doctor and obtain another referral because I was very upset.
I was extremely frustrated and raised my voice because I could not understand why, after waiting six to seven months for this appointment, I was being told that I needed another referral.
I went back to the front desk and again asked to speak with the office manager. Dr. Gupta came out and told me that they did not have an office manager and that he was the manager. He then asked the receptionist to call 911 on me.
I have never experienced such unprofessional and disrespectful treatment at a doctor's office. The lack of communication, the excessive waiting time, the way David treated me on the phone, and especially the way Dr. Gupta handled the situation were completely unacceptable.
I would not recommend this office to anyone. After waiting six to seven months for an appointment, I expected to be treated with basic courtesy, compassion, and professionalism. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, humiliated, extremely upset, and completely unheard.
After leaving the office, I called my husband in tears. I was so shaken and upset that I was concerned about driving home. I am grateful that I made it home safely. This experience was extremely distressing and is something I will not forget.
