I have been learning Kung Fu 12 years through 5 different Kung Fu schools and instructors-masters. Each have good things to offer, some have not so good things also while definitely at JMMA I found for the first time a place with both very, very nice instructors, and a tailored learning experience with an amazing level of individual attention. I have had at least one of my boys (sometimes all three) in Kung Fu at Jade Mountain for the past 2.5 years. Sifu Whit and Ms. Katherine provide a great environment that is devoid of the "belt only" mentality that we had seen prior to coming here. The atmosphere is relaxed yet respectful and offers a safe environment for training. In addition to learning Kung Fu (which is really cool), the boys have also grown stronger, faster, and more flexible through vigorous workouts at the beginning of class. An absolutely wonderful place to learn martial arts, self-defense, and get in shape! Sifu, and staff, are all great teachers for young kids, teenagers, and adults. As stated in a recent graduation ceremony, you are not just joining a gym, you are joining a family. I have been going for almost 2 years, 32 pounds lighter, and now in the best shape of my life. 100 burpees for time; bring it on! I could barely do 10 when I started. Great with my kids. We have two boys in kungfu and Brazilian juijitsu. Sifu Whit teaches the little dragons and is amazingly patient and has a great sense of humor (with five year olds u need it). Mrs Kathryn has motivated my video game player to be more active and has taught him to be more confident. It is the first time he has ever begged to go somewhere he is so physically challenged. Showers are required every single day after kungfu as he gets a complete workout! Highly recommended for parents looking for a good place for the kids to be exposed to martial arts. I love this facility. I took my 3 year old to study martial arts with Sifu, and they were kind, fun and patient with him. Plus, they were not only instructing him in the art form of kung fu, but teaching him morals and ethics to accompany it. My son studied for almost a year, and then we moved too far to continue going. My son is now 6, and we've looked high and low for another facility. We miss all the wonderful instructors there and haven't found a place that can match it.
